   Nice experience. The waiter with blond hair (I can't remember his name, we were at second floor) was fantastic! We'll come back when we returning to Montreal.

   Overall the dining experience was wonderful. Like many, we are used to the original Gibby’s but obviously every establishment has been forced to change. Many of the originals have retired and left, but I must say the new staff is also excellent and friendly and attentive. The prices went up no more or no less than every other restaurant. But in the end, at Gibby’s you still get the full meal experience. Still those delicious pickles, hot breads, - palate changer sorbet, all still yummy. Wish they would still offer the herbed cottage cheese , we enjoyed that. The salads got a bit smaller, the plates should be fuller with greens, but maybe skimpy because I ordered dressing on side. The steak was very delicious, baked potato was good, I found they over salted the French fries and broccoli, it was way too salty. And they changed their signature birthday/ celebration cakes. They made them prettier but nothing like the original whipped cream and peach cake. All in all, we were celebrating a special occasion and it was very good. I still think Gibbys offers a good value for a complete white tablecloth dining experience! I recommend to go back there and enjoy and not compare to what it once was. Everything changes, and Gibbys did a good job. They were not busy for no reason.

   Service was slow and terrible. After going to Gibbys 29 years found the following. Escargot was horrible and was sent back and definitely not worth $28 . Gibby rib steak was very tough and not aged. Not cooked to medium. ( Sent back)Asst manager trying to tell me in the middle it’s medium but steak was tough.Waiter telling me to order rare and it might come out medium. Complementary cake totally not the quality that Gibbys previously served. To get our bill it took over 20 minutes. For a bill over $500 it definitely isn’t worth the price. It was a first class restaurant and definitely is not today. The new ownership has to treat this operation not like a fast food operation but what it was a fantastic dining experience.

   I got the Beef Wellington and my wife got the ribeye steak, both were cooked exactly as we had requested and tasted great. Genevieve was our waitress and she was fantastic and making us feel welcomed and was very attentive to us, brought the overall experience up to an excellent level.

   The experience was fine overall but the service was fairly slow. The food was above average but not extremely memorable. The setting was very nice. Get the Chocolate Delight, that was the best part of the meal.

   Though the food was lovely we were rushed through the whole experience. We had an appetizer, salad, main dish and dessert all within 1hr and waited then 30 minutes for the bill. They were going so fast with the food being brought out we felt like we were and inconvenience to be there or unwanted guess. We did not get the full experience, we didn't get the sherbet because they had brought the mains out the second the salad was due and brought as a cake to celebrate (which was nice) however then never even asked if we wanted dessert (there were several on the menu I wanted and the celebration cake was not it). At the end of the night after we finally got our bill, we did ask if we were suppose to get the sherbet and was told yes but the food came out too fast and the though I waitress wanted to give it to use the other ones said not to bother . This really ended the night with us feeling like we were an unwanted guest. I was very much looking forward to being here, and even planned our day round this dinner, instead I will not be coming back. As though food was good, I a sure I can find great food and a great experiences at another local steak house.

   A beautiful and authentic atmosphere, with good food and excellent service. We ordered oysters for appetizer and steak for main course, both of which I highly recommend. It made our birthday memorable. Thank you to the Gibbys restaurant.

    Silver skin in my rib steak. NOT expected at $88 !!!! Resto was very hot and stuffy ! Our waiter, Gabriel, was FANTASTIC !!!!!
