Gertrude's - Baltimore
To our Indoor Diners: we are fortunate to have a very sophisticated small particle air filtration system in our dining room, thanks to the museum.

We had our 40th wedding anniversary dinner at Gertrude’s and loved it! It will be a tradition!
I've been going to Gertrude's for a long time now, it is as good as ever! I enjoyed a special of friend shrimp and grits for brunch and my date had the crab quiche. Both were thoroughly enjoyed! I recommend Getrude's to anyone that would like to try Maryland cuisine.
Everything was perfect at our dinner. The salmon was wonderful, and the wine was outstanding! My fiance also enjoyed his vegan crabcakes. The holiday decorations were lovely too, as was the ambience. We have never gone wrong here. Love Gertrudes and highly recommend!!!
Nice atmosphere, very convenient. Food was of good quality & nice presentation. Waiter very pleasant
From years of eating here I’d have to say the menu is boring this season, even the cocktails are not as interesting as I remember from a few years back. The service is great, they made sure our French fries were very well done and my whiskey sour was good and strong. That said, I don’t go there for a burger which is what we had, it was just okay. I’m going back with out of towners ( for the museum) and I’ll be okay with the food because now my expectations are much lower. Shame though.
Waitress more or less abandoned our table. She was also apparently responsible for those seated at bar. Maybe you were understaffed? Also one of our 4 orders was wrong. So the food - eggs benedict had to be remade. Three of us were nearly finished eating by time her meal came.
Excellent brunch as always at Gertrude’s!
Crab omelette and shrimp & grits! Couldn’t be better!
Very high prices for seafood items , but eating under the canopy with a view to the garden and sculpture was so pleasant and lovely!
A very pleasant surprise awaited us when cornbread and biscuits arrives with raspberry jelly and butter. A true treat!
Service was good and we felt welcome.
My wife & I met some friends who were in town for the weekend and wanted to take them somewhere that is uniquely Baltimore. Gertrudes hit the spot.
The meal was delicious, and the service excellent. The atmosphere was very nice as well. (I do not recall our waitress's name. She has a UK accent and short red hair.)
We will return.
Excellent food and outstanding service - it’s always a pleasure to dine at Gertrude’s!
Service at Gertrude's is always good and it was no different this time. The food was good and came quickly once we ordered. It can be a bit noisy if it is completely filled but it is probably one of the most consistently pleasant restaurants with good food and good service in Baltimore. All of the help from busboys to servers to management are polite and attentive.
Gertrude’s is still a fine restaurant and is enjoyable to patronize.
However, one of my favorite entrees has really increased in price and it doesn’t even come with a chicken breast anymore…a shame.
Comfortable and convenient after visiting the museum. Lacks warmth and ambience.
Skip the grilled cheese with fruit..... tasteless and poorly put together. My first disappointment here...
Delicious garden salad with salmon and waiter who served with excellence.
Great food. Great location. Combine brunch or do with gallery visit at the BMA
We enjoyed the Sunday brunch at Gertrudes, including the Eggs Benedict, Eggs Gertrude, and the Quiche, and were then delighted by the current Matisse exhibit at the Baltimore Museum of Art
Excellent… air filtration and social distancing made us feel safe indoors. Great food and service.
Gertrude’s has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine list and wonderful desserts. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again
Great for a nice dinner without being rushed and good food.
Pretty good restaurant but especially nice that it's connected with the Baltimore Museum of Art. Food is fine, not special, and bit pricey (e.g. $20 for poached eggs with a slice of tomato and spinach on English muffin). Service, once we got to order, was fine, with pleasant and helpful staff. Biggest problem is noise level. It's very hard to have a conversation among 4 people. It's not that guests are loud; there's something not right about the acoustics. It is great to combine eating at Gertrude's with going to the BMA, a truly excellent museum with both permanent and changing exhibits, all well done.
This is a wonderful venue--especially outside under the covered tent surrounded by sculptures and nature. We had been offered a table by the door which my husband declined due to the chill of folks coming and going. We then waited 20 minutes beyond our reservation for the next table only to be seated near the other door! ???? Someone did not pay attention! That's why I didn't go five stars all the way. Food was great. Waitress, although new to the field --because of her tentativeness with dishes and the tray with filled glasses --was great. So we survived in the chill by the door... which because we are in our seventies is ok but not the best.
The food was good, the service was okay (it was very crowded), but the noise level was TERRIBLE. I would recommend going at an off hour, definitely not on the weekend.
Great, as always!
Gertrude’s was a welcome sight after COVID caution kept us away for over a year. We got a quiet table as requested, and our waiter Peter B was quick to bring our drink order. (It was a treat to learn wine is half price on Wednesdays!) Peter was gracious, helpful with our menu questions, and as efficient and attentive as could be expected on a busy night. My guest’s quiche platter was beautiful and reportedly tasty, as well. My Gerties crab cake was yummy as ever, and I greatly appreciated that I could swap coleslaw for asparagus. While topping the evening off with a hot fudge sundae we agreed Gertrude’s is well worth returning to. We’ll be back!
Gertrudes was great! Our complaint is with Open Table.
OpenTable only offered us a 1:30 lunch reservation for a Wednesday lunch. We just showed up at our preferred time of 12:00 and the place was empty... literally 50 tables available. Why is Open Table only offering garbage times? We will never use Open Table again, but just call any restaurant directly.
Be aware that Open Table did the same game when we used O.T. to book The Prime Rib for a Thursday night... only offering us a single choice of 5:00. During the entire 2 hours we were there, the restaurant was never even half-full. Obviously, Open Table is for losers. Never use it!!!!!
A lovely meal in a beautiful setting. Our server was very attentive.
Adequate food at a high price… would go elsewhere if I could do it over again
Such a nice spot. Lovely atmosphere and delicious, creative food.
Best crab cake ever - gracious server - beautiful surroundings - and surrounded by a lovely museum. What more could you ask?
Whether it be pre-Covid or post-Covid, Gertrudes never disappoints. The service is impeccable; the food excellent; and the feeling of being a valued customer is consistent! Still one of the best places to dine in Baltimore.
Delicious food. Never fails. Maitre D very accommodating. Attractive space. Glorious crab cakes!
Had the cream of crab soup … it was so watery totally lacked any flavor . It was always a favorite of mine …no never will I order it again. Service great everyone was pleasant enough.
I absolutely love Gertrude’s! The food is delicious always perfect & love the live music. There’s no better place in Baltimore♥️
The atmosphere/aesthetic was really nice! My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals--I had the veggie-fu scramble, and he had the beyond burger. Both were delicious! We also had a couple of brunch beverages--a mango mimosa and a peach bellini--and both were great! I would definitely recommend.
Few restaurants offer live music - so here at Gertrudes you have fine dining plus delightful music played during Sunday Brunch. What more could you ask?
Overall love this place, food, and service
We both had an excellent meal. I do not eat pork but I had additional eggs provided as well as a short stack of pancakes. I did not know that there was a short stack but that was also offered. Perfect service as well. Checking in but not pushy. Engaged but not assertive. Thank you.
Excellent Food, the Crab Omelet is my choice
