The crab dip was bland, my pork chop was over cooked, my mashed potatoes had so much garlic in them I couldn’t taste anything else. My wife’s duck was labeled “confit” but wasn’t at all, and her rice was undercooked. My cocktail was weak. I mean how on earth do you make a weak Manhattan? They figured out how. Service was slow.

Arrived at 5 PM and left at 7PM party of 4 Three orders of escargot were very disappointing tiny and tasteless. Truly a poor example of escargot. The entrees were very taste-full, however they where lukewarm. Good thing that Gershwin is located in a tourist area as it would never survive with just locals. I was embarrassed that I brought some good friends for dinner.

Had beautiful evening at Gershwin's to support Dining Out For Life and celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent, the staff attentive, and the atmosphere first rate. We will be back again soon.

We arrived by Lyft 2 minutes before they were open. Our reservation was for 5:00, when they open. The hostess saw us but wouldn’t let us in. I was uncomfortable because there were several homeless people standing very close to the restaurant begging for money. At this point, it was not the experience we were expecting. The hostess let us in after the two minutes passed. And by the way she was just standing at her podium the entire two minutes, that felt much longer. Once inside we were serenaded by a pianist (whose voice was not very good), but the decor was beautiful. The wait staff was amazing. Properly attentive, engaging, and made great suggestions for our meals, especially for my restricted pallet for no spicy heat. I was impressed with his recommendations. I had the chef’s special, steak nuggets in a mushroom cream sauce.

I had a table for one and there were 3 women talking right in front of my table for an extended amount of time. The hostess had to ask them to move due to me looking uncomfortable. I come here every now and then and never had that happen.

They accommodated all my requests, even played a certain song at a certain time for me to propose to my lady.

Ordered the short ribs which were dry and burnt. Destroyed my enjoyment of the meal as we had other entrées. A quick apology from the waiter but from the hour and ten minutes between courses had a hard time saying yes to dessert. Unfortunately this won’t correct the dining experience and well as the chefs pride of what he/she puts out.

I think this place is solid for piano music and cocktails, but the food is just not good. It’s not worth the menu prices. Our $26 charcuterie board was the saddest thing I think I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure how they get away with that. It was so sparse. My steak dinner had cold mashed potatoes that were not good, my filet mignon wasn’t well seasoned, and the asparagus were over cooked. The dining room was not busy, so there was no good reason for poor food quality. There just isn’t a talented chef working the kitchen.

Walking in the piano player and singer was way too loud. We were seated in the back of the restaurant which helped. Also the restaurant was very cold and we asked the waiter to turn up the heat and we were told it’s an old building. Once we received our dinner, my husband ordered a filet with scallops, he was served a filet with shrimp. His dinner was also to have a blue cheese sauce on the steak, it was missing also. For the price we paid, the meal was not worth the food we had.
