One of the best brunches I’ve ever had. Everything was delicious. Cocktails are beautiful and so fresh. Delightful!
Great food with a fun atmosphere in a visual pleasing location.
Definitely worth a visit. Food was creative and the service was attentive.
It was extremely loud and I could barely hear my boyfriend across the table. This is the second time I’ve been to Geist and both times we waited probably 15 minutes for a round of drinks. I ordered a glass of Prosecco. The first time, they comped a few drinks off the bill for the wait and this time nothing was amended. It was a bit of a disappointing experience for the price!
The noise was way to loud and the service was subpar.
I was less than impressed with my food. Ordered shrimp and grits. Why you would ruin the delicate flavor of pecorino infused grits with a greasy over salted sauce that included pearl onions that were basically raw and not listed in the description of the dish is beyond me. It ruined my meal altogether. Add in that our table was not level so that everytime you touched it or picked up a glass it shifted was inexcusable. We asked to be moved before the wine was brought didnt happen. Went home hungry. Total meal cost for 2 was over 150.00 not a good experience at all. Beyond disappointed.
Food and service were amazing-highly recommend!
Everything about this place was perfection.
Totally worth a meal here. The food, cocktails, and dessert did not disappoint . From start to finish this meal was exquisite.
Atmosphere, food and service was on point! dessert was just ok, not worth $
Waited by the host table for 10 minutes (in an almost empty restaurant) while bar staff walked past and didn’t acknowledge us. Finally when I mentioned that we had a reservation we were immediately seated. Really ruined the experience for us.
We all absolutely loved the cuisine and would not hesitate to return. Service was a bit slow as we were served our appetizers a bit before our drink orders. Noise level was a bit tough for a party of 8 but just because of their success! Food quality surely made up for the noise and service!
Love the atmosphere. Very cool place
Incredible each and every time! Highly recommended.
Despite a reservation made long ago and the cold winter weather, we were seated in a back porch with heaters... not what we expected!
Charcuterie tray was extremely good but won’t be enough for us to come back.
I always enjoy Geist. The food is simply fabulous. However, this last visit was slightly less enjoyable because I was on the patio and it was COLD!!!! Not a fan of shivering while trying to enjoy a great meal.
Great food. Fancy priced. Tried to seat us in an outdoor area with heaters. Not with a month in advance reservation...once we were seated inside it was great.
Was a set menu because of Valentine's Day, but the food and service were fantastic!
Had a really nice Valentines dinner! Really enjoyed our dinner—prix-fixe menu with 3 entre choice. Food was great as was the service. Intimate atmosphere, relaxed and comfortable. Really cool old building. Visiting from out of town. Definitely would recommend.
Went there for a Pre-Valentines dinner. All was great! Reasonably priced. I had the Salmon (Amazing!), my husband had the scallops, also amazing! Cocktails were delicious. We got the peppers for an app. They were the only thing we didn’t enjoy as much.
We picked Geist from an Open Table review & we were not disappointed!! Love this restaurant. Our waitress was very sweet & the food was yummy. There was no problem sharing a main dish. We would definitely come again when visiting Nashville. Highly recommend.
Disappointed in the food! Very salty! Should have said something. Couldn’t even finish the meal . Website is misleading on the happy hour. Was told no happy hour on food and only HH on 2 wines by the glass and 1/2 of wine on 3 or 4 bottles. Best part of dining was the sourdough bread ! Burger was below average. 1/2 chicken dish was below average. The building is beautiful.
I had to question the waiter bout HH and he was uninformed. Hmmm! I asked the hostess upon arrival about HH and she did not know anything ! For the price on food and drinks someone should know!!!
Nice atmosphere. Food good not exceptional.
Finding ourselves in Nashville we wanted to find a restaurant we hadn’t known about before – OpenTable to the rescue! A place that once had been a blacksmith’s shop (they say it’s one of the oldest surviving buildings in Nashville...) seemed irresistible. And, once we began to sample the menu, it was.
Our meal began with a beef carpaccio with a garnish that tasted lightly of truffle oil. The special was a pork chop that we wisely decided to split. At least 1-1/2” thick but juicy and perfectly done, with tapenade on a base of yogurt sauce and balsamic reduction. We also had a not-so side dish of spaghetti squash in prosciutto which delightfully complemented the main course. Well-mixed drinks.
We love to find an unusual, historic place with a good bar and a superlative chef ... and we just did.
I planned my birthday brunch here and SO glad I did. Our server (I unfortunately, forgot her name...she had the BEAUTIFUL multicolored eye shadows/eyes and the most wonderful personality...thank you!) was PHENOMENAL!!! Food and drinks were top notch! Love this place. We will be back <3
Very good food and service. A little spendy.
Service and food were outstanding! They tested myself and my group of friends so incredibly well! David our server was awesome!
This was our second time at Geist; the menu had changed from our first visit. For the better. The food was amazing, especially the oyster and octopus appetizers. My scallops were savory and cooked perfectly. My husband said his shrimp and grits dish was one of the best he ever had. We were a table of 8 and not one of us left disappointed.
It was a fantastic experience!
21st birthday brunch...delightful!
Loved our dinner with friends at Geist. Great atmosphere and good service. Food was fun and well presented. Highly recommend.
Came here for brunch and the food was delightful, especially the bacon! The atmosphere is beautiful and really old vintage vibe! Service was slower then I wished which is why I rated it for instead of five stars.
This is such wonderful place to dine and my sister and I truly enjoyed!!!
Great staff. I was celebrating my daughter’s birthday and your staff members made our moments very memorable. Thank you so much to everyone. Anthony
Good brunch but the omelette was not outstanding. Bacon side was wonderful.
My wife had the eggs Benedict and thought they were the best eggs she had ever had.
My only disappointment with the omelette was it was eggs cooked and folded over with asparagus and tomatoes tucked inside.
LOVED our brunch experience here. The servers were incredibly attentive, the atmosphere was chic, and food was delicious. Alcoholic drinks are overpriced but everything else was well worth the cost. 10/10 recommend splitting a cinnamon roll and coffee (French press)
Great food, service and ambience! The pork chops and New York Strip which were both specials were outstanding. We will definitely be back!
The mimosas could be a little larger or less expensive, but I do love Geist!
