Brazilian Steakhouse
The plains of Southern Brazil are filled with grazing cattle enjoying the vast pastures. These cattle are the source for the famous and centuries old Brazilian “Churrasco” barbecues. It was at these gatherings where Brazilian cowboys or “gauchos” would prepare large pieces of meat and slowly cook them over open flame pits. Our traditional gaucho chefs still follow these traditions to preserve the flavors of each cut of meat.

Dinner is always delicious but soooooo filling. Service is somewhat slow but that is the nature of the dinner.

Enjoyed a night out. Great wine list. It would have been great to have wine recommendations, however, I suck to my favorites and it worked out just fine.

This place was so wonderful and worth the many I do wish that they had coupons or special deal because it is a lot of money especially when you bring your whole family. I recommended this to all my coworkers and friends.

Our original reservation at another restaurant was cancelled due to broken AC.
Gaucho Do Sul manager was very accommodating for last minute group lunch for 30 people. He set us up in the private which work perfectly for us since we had 16 kids under 8 years old.
We had excellent service from waiting staff.
Food were fresh and very good.

I was shocked by how many different types of meats were available for the tasting. All of the selections were savory and it would be impossible to pick a favorite. However, what stole the show, was their salad bar. Sun dried tomatoes in flavored oils, several types of cheese, artichokes, asparagus... too many specialty items to list. At the table, the most unique type of bread/cheese combination and something new to me, Polenta, which I very much enjoyed. For my date and I, with tip, I spent right around 150 dollars. We did not partake of any wine but, it looked as though they had a remarkable selection. I will be back.

Food was good except the bacon wrapped filet. It was far too chewy. Tasted more like a lesser quality piece of meat. Value would have been better if we had actually ate more meat. I think my son and I ate more bread and salad than anything. Wait staff was excellent.

I enjoyed everything from the energetic hostess to the attentive wait staff to the quick servers. We passed up two other Brazilian restaurants to eat here. Absolutely loved the grilled pineapple. Dinner for two was slightly over $100. Well worth the cost. I plan to return when I'm back in town.

It was our anniversary and the very first time eating there. We were very impressed with the ambiance and the way we were helped to make us feel comfortable. We loved the salad bar and how we were able to try all of the meat choices. Our favorite was the lamb chops and rib eye. We loved the wine. It was very affordable. Everyone made us feel very welcome. We wery special we the wonderful treatment we received. We have already invited friends to come and eat with us . We want to thank our daughter and son in law for the gift card so that we could try something new.

I have been to several Brazilian Steakhouse restaurants in several states and this is one is hands down THE BEST. Friendly, professional attentive staff, and great tasting food that is obviously prepared with great pride. The pace of service is perfectly balanced, not too fast and not too slow. We will be back.

Family birthday dinner. As always the service was impeccable and the salad bar and meat selections were numerous and delicious. Not our first time and won’t be our last! But always.... Go Hungry!

One word, AMAZING.

I read the reviews before booking a reservation and was concerned about wait time and service. Well, I'm glad I didn't listen.

This place was perfect.

We came here to celebrate our anniversary and couldn't be happier with our experience.

Food was incredible, service was outstanding.

The salad bar alone would've made me super happy, the meats were a MEGA bonus.

I'm super happy we chose this place for our anniversary. I can't wait to come back. My husband and I have decided to make this our secret spot.

We'll be returning soon. :)

I go here at least 2 to 3 times a year as it is a bit far from my house, but the food and service never seems to amaze me. I've taken several friends here as well. I'll be back soon!

We went for dinner for Father's Day and I was expecting slow service. I was pleasantly surprised that the service was excellent. Every time we asked for something it was brought to us within minutes. I absolutely love the salad bar. Everything was very fresh. I didn't get to sample it all and I didn't get to the soups but I will next time we visit. The mashed potatoes were very good. The meats were very good and tasty but the sirloin was a little tough. I was able to get my meat rare and my husband likes his medium. The salmon was a little dry but the shrimp was excellent. My son said the lamb chop was very good and the server brought him some mint jelly. We will definitely be back.

Great service my our server but took 45 minutes to get seated even though we had reservations. Buffet could be more updated. More options like Texas de Brazil.

Not impressed. I'm Brazilian and I've been to several Brazilian steakhouses in Houston and this one was easily at the bottom of the list.

-FOOD: The specialty cuts that we look forward to having when we go to a "churrascaria" were very underseasoned and did not had the smokiness you get from charcoal-cooked meat. The salad bar was decent, as you'd expect. The lobster bisque (which is not really a Brazilian thing but all Brazilian steakhouses here in the US are expected to have, apparently) was probably the best thing I had there. I asked for farofa (which is supposed to be seasoned toasted yucca flour that youput on top of beans or use to soak the juices of meats on the plate) and they brought me a dish with raw yucca flour that had way too many fillings (onions, olives, green peppers + some other unidentified things I've never seen in farofas lol). I was very confused and that definitely was not "useable" as farofa. Nor tasty. Anyway. We ordered desert, too -- yes, we had room in what would normally be our meat-stuffed bellies. I got the flan (overcooked) and my husband got the tres leches cake (Kroger's is better and I'll leave it at that). Oh! They did have pineapple on the skewer rotation, which is unusual in the US but traditional in Brazil, so that was a highlight.
-SERVICE: Well, I never saw my husband's plate stay empty for so long. He usually chows down meat like crazy in these places, but he had long breaks here. As for me, my rice and beans got cold 1/3 of the way through waiting for some picanha... Not the fastest service.
-AMBIANCE: The place is pretty and it seems clean.

TL,DR: Don't waste your driving time to go to this place. Avenida Brasil and Chama Gaucha are both much MUCH better options!

Father’s Day weekend. We were seated quickly, servers were nice and helpful but were extremely aggressive trying to take plates away to turn the table. Salad bar was fresh but was less than remarkable in its offerings. The cuts of meat were good but every thing was very poorly seasoned, if at all, except for the bacon wrapped chicken. Wine list was highly overpriced compared to other area restaurants. We were disappointed, Texas de Brazil never disappoints.

This was our second visit to Gauchos Do Sul, and we again left with smiles on our faces (and very full bellies!). If you've been to places like Fogo, then you know what to expect. Meat, and lots of it. Plus a very good salad bar (with a nice Lobster Bisque to boot) and a great selection of cocktails and wine (and probably beer too, but we didn't look). I had both a traditional and tropical caipirinha, which most people would compare to a mojito. A little too much ice for my liking, but it is a great cocktail and pairs perfectly with the salad bar and meats.

The restaurant layout has an intimate feel to it; you can be next to a group of 8, but still feel like you have some privacy, especially if you choose a table next to a wall. The Gauchos energetically move from table to table, and carve the meats with great precision. Every cut was prepared exactly the way we asked (medium rare for us), and they even nailed the portion sizes (many places cut huge slices when you may just want a sample or smaller piece).

We found all of our selections to be very flavorful and fresh, and other than the Pincaha (which is always the best cut at these types of restaurants), we highly recommend the beef ribs (they slice the meat from the ribs...so yummy!). But try everything. It's all good.

For dessert, get the Papaya Cream, even if you feel like you're going to explode. I promise that the claims of "helping digestion" are true. It definitely helps the stomach feel less full.

Our only complaint, and it's happened on both visits, is that the time to pay the check after the meal is finished takes way longer than it should, but that is truly a nit pick on our part.

The owners both checked up on us frequently throughout the meal, and our waiter (who handles drinks and side dishes) was very attentive throughout our meal as well.

This is a great restaurant in the Northwest Harris County area, and I believe is better than those closer to Houston. Give it a try.

Everything we had tasted great. All the meats were seasoned perfectly and were always fresh and sizzling hot. The service was also great, we were never left wanting for anything. We both felt the quality, variety, and amount of food we were able to have, were definitely worth the price.
