I am glad we went as it was a different experience then most dining experiences. Steak was good and liked cooking it on the stone at your table. Limited menu options and a little on the pricier side
Gauchos was a unique dining experience with steaks cooked on stones and the spices used delicious. This is a family owned casual dining experience with excellence on product and service.
What a special hidden gem, delicious food fantastic service incredible staff totally awesome
The service was very personable - our server was very attentive. The owner/chef came to show us how the stone grill works and the steak was seasoned perfectly. The dipping sauces were delicious and the charred bread slices dipped in the chimchurri was the bomb! We will be back!
a great dining experience. The stone grilled steak melts in your mouth
The food is great though a little overpriced for every day. Service has been spotty both times. Always s seem to be low on staff.
Valentines!
We went on Valentines Day, which may have contributed to the noise and some service issues. However, these did not detract from the outstanding food, nor will they keep us from visiting again.
I liken Gauchos to a Mongolian hot pot - you are brought your steak on a large heated stone, on which you cook the meat yourself as you slice off each piece. I had the Surf and Turf, which was great, and my wife had the same without the shrimp. Next time, I would get the tostones as an app rather than the plantain, which were too sweet for my wife as an appetizer.
The desserts were outstanding - the churros were great, but the lemon Panna cotta (in all but name) was a winner. I don't like citrus desserts normally, and I would order that again.
I ordered the cabbage and carrot salad, but got the same salad as my wife who had the normal salad. The Gauchos dressing is wonderful, a lightly garlicky vinaigrette, so this wasn't a big deal. The table next to us had an issue with their order as well, but the wait staff was great. I chalked these minor issues up to it being a busy night.
This is a great date night place if you like meat. The normal menu has a vegetarian option, but be honest - if you're bringing a vegetarian to an Argentinian steak house, you've got bigger problems than what to feed them, as do they. Bring the carnivores and your wallet - good food isn't cheap.
Atmosphere is very smokey due to cooking food on stones at your table, but steak was seasoned well and tasted good. You will smell like smoke when you leave.
Food is scrumptious. I recommend the 16oz Argentina style ribeye steak ( ojo de bifé) marinated in chimichurri served sizzling to your table on a hot 750° stone , served with fries and Gauchos salad and chimichurri dipping sauce.
We waited nearly ten minutes to even get greeted! We were sat with no menus. Waited another eight minutes to be asked if we had been helped. Server then gave us menus and water and told us she was just too busy to take care of us and she was going to see if anyone could take us. Waited another five minutes. Nothing. We decided to then leave. So disappointed in this. Would have loved to try the food.
Just respond to know that we are there!
Thank you for giving us a try and we are very sorry that you experience was not a good one. We where a little short staff this weekend, we apologize for your experience is not an excuse just what happened. Thanks
Although the steaks on stone were expensive, they were really good!! It is our new go-to special occasion place.
It was wonderful
Waitress Barb was GREAT! Very personable. the concept is really cool and food was great.
Absolutely worth a try. Highly doubt you will regret it. The food is tremendous, and the steaks cooked at your table on a black (lava) rock, are off the chart! On the weekends, definitely make a reservation, as tables fill up quickly.
We visited Gauchos on a night that was not busy due to an ice storm, so the service was excellent. We all decided to try the stone grill, which where the meat is cooked at the table on a 700 degree stone. The steaks were excellent and the sides were also very good. The steaks were an excellent value for the price. The house salad was very nice and the dressing was light and very tasty. The house made mojitos were also delicious and definitely a recommended pre-dinner drink. We all agreed that we would like to go back for another visit.
The food was good. The meats (lamb, chicken and secret steak) were cooked perfectly to order. The chef was very friendly and helpful in choosing our food. The food was simple, fresh, and not over-salted like most steak houses, but seasoned lightly. The plantains were a terrific side dish. Service was slow and inefficient. The restaurant fills with smoke from the stone grill foods being served.
Our waiter Kristopher was not attentive at all. I never received a refill on my drink. He brought out our entrees and then brought the dry salad out and then asked us what kind of dressing we wanted. My steak came out cold and even after having sent it back it still was only lukewarm.
Restaurant isn't like Argentina at all. Been in Argentina a lot and the steaks aren't even comparable.
Never had hot stone in Argentina, always from the fire burning pit with multiple choices for meat.
Saw people getting up to leave not even being served, should have followed!
What Gaucho's Steakhouse is trying to share with People is the history of how an Ancient Argentinian Gauchos cooked in the wild, as all they needed was fire and Stones. We are not trying to be like an Argentinian Tourist Restaurant in Buenos Aires. Gaucho's Steakhouse also cooks it's meats in a flaming grill, we want you to have a gaucho experience with the hot Stones but if you don't want to, you can cook your meat in the grill all you need to do is ask. Sorry about your experience.
the best steak in a long time, family owned and ran, everyone was great, learned alot about the culture i almost forgot the lamb i never knew it was so good. cant wait to revisit them once they are moved oct 2019
Excellent food and great staff! I am disappointed we did not know about this restaurant until now. The steak was amazing and cooked perfect! The owners were great at explaining the marinade and origin of the food. The churro for dessert was fantastic!
As they claim, best steakhouse you didn’t know exists!
Delightful, locally owned- cooked to order meats, chicken, and fish. Everything here is unique and delicious- from the entrees, to the sides, drinks and desserts! Come try it!
The flavor of the steak and lamb were amazing! The rice was some of the best I've had. The owners came out and talked with us and explained the background of Argentinean cooking and some culture. I can't wait to go back!
When I dine at a restaurant I usually order some type of fish. The chef came to our table and explained the preparation of the steaks with the special Argentinian marinade. I decided since is the specialty to try a steak. Words cannot describe the wonderful flavor of this steak. My husband had a different cut of steak and said the same. The flavor is outstanding
