We had a last minute reservation for 830pm didn't make it until 845 and the staff was so friendly! We were the last order of the night and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Food was quick and fresh and amazing! We were afraid we were going to get bottom of the barrel with the food but it was amazing!
Food was very good - and portion size was considerable. Great casual atmosphere and the service was great. Definitely recommend.
It was only 7:00 and they were out of many items. Food didn’t taste good. Not fresh. Too sour. I felt bad for the 3 staff who were trying to keep things going. Go to the Water Grill instead. It’s amazing
Both food orders wrong, although comped one meal. Appetizer took more than 30 minutes to come out, resturantwas not at all busy. Other guests served that came after us got meals before our apps. Server seemed to care less about us. Other server in that section looked like she was great with guests. We will not be back.
Food and service were A+... Definitely coming back here again the next time we’re down in San Diego.
The lobster bisque was excellent. The calamari was a little fishy tasting as was the crab cakes. The shrimp was a little over cooked.
Waitress was awesome and they sat us right away outside like we asked (but the outside patio is on a busy street and there was a lot of drunk stuff happening on the street). The food was good - I had the scallops and they were great - but it's way over-priced for what you get. Glasses of wine were too much money for the pour. Overall decent experience but would not rush back. (although I would hire our waitress in a second!!)
Beautiful view!!! Parking was difficult which took away from the overall experience. Food was tasty. Must get the garlic crab bread, key lime pie and creme brûlée!!
Tasty food. Fast to serve. Avoid ordering all your meal at the same time if you plan to eat first your soup then your main course. They were out of items from the menu like catch of the day and lobster tacos.
Sat down at 7:45 pm, we ordered a shellfish tower and a few apps, 8:30pm no apps yet but the server takes our dinner order! At 8:45 our apps arrived and at 8:55 our dinners arrived! My king crab dinner was ice cold and I had to send it back!! Horrible experience
Gaslamp Fish House is a very good spot...chill vibe, attentive & friendly service, good food...for a quick casual bite, i would recommend this spot
Had great potential and hostess, server, and manager were very nice but they were extremely short staffed. Was freezing throughout the whole meal and asked for heater to be put on 3 times and it still wasn’t take care of until our neighboring table, who had a baby, asked two more times. If they weren’t understaffed it would have been a much better experience. The atmosphere itself was nice, but the food is over-priced, but probably comparable to other establishments. I’d go there again.
The food and service was amazing. We booked a table and was ready on time.
The restaurant is okay. The waitstaff was under staffed. I overheard that the manager was not around, "he left". Our appetizers were sent to the wrong table, and it tool 30 minutes to get a new order in. The food was sub par for the prices. Lobster bisque was lacking in flavor, oysters were just okay and the steak was over cooked. Overall I would not recommend. The restrooms were dirty.
Unfortunately, we were unimpressed by Gaslamp Fish House. We are unsure why the reviews are high. Service was poor and food was sub-par for the amount you spend.
Terrible food and terrible drinks. Sent both back.
We found this little place on our last trip to San Diego. We were very pleased. We had clam chowder, muscles, and Tuscan style rockfish. The food was excellent, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere of us really pleasant as well.
Great corner location. I loved the extra space we had eating on the patio outside. Unfortunately the restaurant was also serving indoors, against current guidance. Cocktails were good but took a long time to come out. Food was pretty good. My "crab Louie" (they have a different name for it) was underwhelming. The crab was just the shreds, no intact chunks at all. Churro and ice cream desserts were good! Server was nice and knowledgeable but overall service was on the slow side.
We truly everything the restaurant
Awesome food and experience
Our server did a great job, but half of the food came to the table cold. The food was good, not great. The cocktails were very good. Overall I would go again.
We visited during Covid, and service was awful, almost to the point it was rude. I feel bad leaving a bad review during this time, but we will never be back based on this visit ($250 bill) for terrible service and awful, thin ribeye steaks without a sear, not good guys...
The food was delicious! Perfect spot ! The vibe was amazing, decor made the experience so enjoyable.. staff was on point. Deff a spot to go!
We went down on a week day for lunch. Post Valentine cekebration! They offerred inside dinning or outside. We opted for outside. Everyone was socially distanced and happy to be out. I ordered the Gaslamp Seafood Cobb Salad with Blue Crab. My wife ordered the Fish and chips, we both dined well. April was great taking care of us and with recommendations. The overall experience exceeded our expectation. Customer service has taken a dip in the last few years, but these folks gotm it right! Thanks for a great lunch dinning experience.
Poor service but great food
We had a great experience for our Valentine's Day dinner with friends. Food and service was very good.
They didn’t respect our reservation for outdoor seating and we had to wait half an hour to get seated with a reservation. They were having a pretty busy day and the service was not great. The food was very good though.
Valentine’s Day dinner
Reservation process was good. The place has a good ambiance, laid back atmosphere. Food selection was good but my seafood lobster paella came up a little too well done. Seafood dish should be a little medium. Lobster turned out a little rubbery and clams/fish pieces were hard dry. It’s looked like it was just reheated.
The service was excellent however the food completely ruined my Valentine’s Day. Our appetizers were rubbery, our lobster was freezing cold and rubbery, and everything was just sitting in cold melted butter.
Service was outstanding, but we when on Valentines Day, since it was are only day in San Diego, Did not know they would have a limited menu.
Most of the food was warm, but not hot. Clam Chowder was cold on top, but mixing it made it a little warmer. Other people in party and Lobster tail or surf and turf, the lobster tail on both was cold and a little rubbery. The salmon was really good.
We were give 25% off the bill, after wife let the server know, but we were also told that if we would like good food not to come on Valentines Day.
Also seat are worn thru, more of a bar feel then dinner place.
my food was served cold and I was given the wrong steak
Forced Valentine’s Day menu which wouldn’t have been so bad if the price was expensive for the quality of food.
Food was ok. Service was very very slow. Won’t be back.
Fantastic food & service. A wonderful experience. Thanks
We went to celebrate our anniversary and our daughters birthday. The food was delicious, we had the happy hour mussels and the amount of mussels for the price was awesome! The value even for the king crab was good as well. Will for sure go again!
This was a great place. And our server was outstanding.
We had a very nice time here. Staff was attentive and fun. Drinks where awesome and the food was tasty. Nice door for date night!
Very strange calamari and what seemed to be frozen oysters from the raw bar
Great food, drinks, and service. Blackberry Black Pearl Mojito was killer.
