Currently Garbo’s only has patio dining open. Last night we had reservations and once we arrived the only tables open were not heated - well it was 42 degrees out. The designed is really flawed once you look at it - if they are only going to do patio only seating the moveable heaters should be set up on the tables not along the wall that get the wall heaters already.

Well, 10 minutes into our stay I was really cold. One of the tables along the wall was done dining so we asked the waitress if we could move to that table. That particular table had a wall heater and a moveable heater!

She was hesitant saying they had people with reservations coming. Um, we had reservations?! Explained that to her and she was like OH! So, it took a little to move not long but I could see many workers beginning to move the heaters around since the heat distribution was not equitable.

A whole family of 8 was without any heat too for a long, long time. Yikes. The placement of the heaters were not clearly thought through. Their patio is not set up with proper cover to protect Freon the elements or keep warm - so just beware on a cold night!

Then when we closed out our waitress said she accidentally gave our ticket to another table and it’s been paid for so we needed to pay for their ticket. WHAT?? Seriously? She said it was saving us $10. Got the ticket and no, no - it was a bit more. I mean - this makes the night even worse. So - that experience will ensure I might not give them a second chance.

Food was great though - too bad.

Great place to grab some casual seafood, their lobster roll is great, the lobster mac and cheese has a great portion but needs a bit more seasoning. Overall a great spot and we will definitely come back!

Food was spot on, from the calamari to the lobster rolls. The cocktails were delicious, especially the Grog (not too sweet, which was nice). Great service, too!

We enjoyed a very nice birthday dinner for my 86 year old mother, at one of her favorite Austin restaurants. Great lobster rolls, crispy French fries (yes an indulgence :-). They seated us at a quiet round table where we could all talk and enjoy each other. Very good service as well.

The food was so good, truly a treat. The service was absolutely wonderful. We celebrated my friend’s birthday and took up table space for over three hours!! We were never rushed, had consistent service and attention and everyone was so warm and friendly. This place is a jewel.

Nice seafood place with a smaller menu. We enjoyed both the lobster bisque and the clam chowda
Entrees were nice sized and freshly prepared. Also the lobsta rolls are outstanding here.

The Connecticut Lobster Rolls were just as I remember they tasted just as I recall in Cape Cod and Portland Maine. Amazing!!! The bread was buttered perfectly and filled, generously with lobster. To die for, definitely going back. Cute ambiance and waitress very attentive. The owner came over to visit, just lovely. Thank you for being here in our town, Austin.

What an adorable and cute little restaurant. I took my husband here for his birthday dinner (Oct 2019) because his favorite lobster roll food trailer closed down. We have been Looking for a place to try ever
Since. We drove up here all the way from Dripping Springs and we would gladly do it again. I made a reservation just in case. We arrived to be greeted by an employee standing outside who was extremely nice and friendly. She took us inside to our table. Wow!!! The interior of the place is farmhouse chic. Gray ceilings, grey picnic tables, metal chairs, exposed brick, farmhouse lighting. I was highly impressed. From an outside view, I would’ve never expected the inside to be so cute and chic. The menu is simple seafood, specializing in lobster rolls. First we ordered the crab cakes. It came with two crab cakes over a cream sauce and a little citrus salad with mandarin oranges on it. I enjoyed the crab cakes. They were filled with crab and some kind of veggies/seasoning I don’t normally taste in a crab cake. Dipping it in the cream sauce made them so delicious. My husband ordered the Taste of Maine and I had the Lobster Grilles Cheese with Brussels sprouts instead of soup. They even have a kids menu which I didn’t see online. I’m so glad because we took our son and I had no idea what we were going to feed him. My husband tried the crab roll first. He enjoyed it, wasn’t his favorite but glad he tried it. Second he had the shrimp roll. Boy, was that delicious! I tried it and next time I will be ordering that one! Third he had the lobster roll. He thought there was a tab to much lemon flavor, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. Out of the three, he liked the shrimp the best. His favorite lobster rolls are the Connecticut style. He will try that one next time. I had the lobster grilled cheese. Let me say first, I hate seafood (minus the occasional grilled shrimp)! Why did I order lobster if I hate seafood...bc this place is known for their lobster and my husband promised m

Everything was super tasty. The only constructive feedback we had was that the fish and chips was a little bland and could’ve had more flavor infused into the batter.

I was there over the weekend celebrating an anniversary and had been several times before with my husband. We always enjoyed dining at Garbo's in the past but for some reason, this last visit was disappointing. There were no specials on the board, no oysters available and the food was lacking. I tried something new and had the fish and chips; the batter on the fish was undercooked in spots and fish was not as fresh as expected, since it is a restaurant specializing in seafood. The service was great, however. Overall, I'm not sure I would return after this underwhelming experience. I hope it was a one-off night but the fact that it wasn't just the food being off but that the options were no longer there with regards to specials and even the menu seemed a little sparse.

Some of the best East Coast seafood this side of the Mississippi!!! Gotta get the New England Clam Chowda and any of the Hatch Green Chile items (when in season). Make sure to stop and try the special soft serve ice cream on the way out for dessert. To. Die. For!

Place seemed to be where locals dined in. Service was way to relaxed and waitresses were not well informed on items in menu, specially allergy information. Also if they are going to serve "CBD" in drinks be ready to explain what it is and the non effects of it or possible effects. Food was bland chips and fish were fried in old oil. Lobster grilled cheese was sad to look at...not to mention the lack of cheese even though they claim it was a grilled cheese sandwich...overall experience for a date night was bad, Don't bring you date here unless maybe You just want to hang out with older older local crowd.
