We are proud to share our journey which is Garbatella Osteria Bar. As the first US-based concept from husband-wife duo Saul Plata and his wife Carelma Rodriguez, as well as his partner Antonio and Diana, Garbatella Osteria in Otay Ranch, is the coming together of cultures, of travels, and of a lifetime of experiences. The Italian menu is crafted to reflect the authentic Italian flavors of Antonio’s childhood with recipes he has loved and cooked for decades.

                                                                                                                                            We had a party of 6 for dinner. The table was quite large to fit everyone with room. We had appetizers, main meal, and dessert. Everything had great flavor. The only downside was the server wasn’t as attentive as I would hope, we only had the one basket of bread and no one came to refill the water glasses or see if the drinks needed a refill. As for the dessert we really enjoyed the Tiramisu and Limoncello. Pricing is a bit on the heavy side but food was definitely delicious.

                                                                                                                                            The place has a lot of potential but there’s not coordination in the kitchen. We order appetizers and a basket of bread also drinks, and the dinner, we got the drinks first but our dinners came before the appetizers and the bread, we sent the dinner back, the waiter apologized for the mistake finally the appetizers came but before we finished the appetizers another waiter brought our dinners back, I felt rushed, the food was actually good but telling every other waiter we weren’t ready for dinner was annoying. The key is to order appetizers first and when finished then order the dinner. Take into an account is a mall restaurant nothing fancy about it.
