   I love gallery pastry and maybe there was just an air conditioning issue but it was painfully humid in there. My food was warm and delicious but I was sweating.

   I was really excited to try this Gallery Pastry Bar as I love the one that was in Broad Ripple, which is now in Meridian Kessler. I was actually disappointed. The food came out not as described on the menu. Service was extremely slow and they sent out pepper bacon with the kids meals instead of the jowl bacon as stated on the menu. The orange juice also tasted as if it came out of a freezer in the 1980’s. My Bloody Mary was outstanding though. I don’t like to write unsavory reviews but I feel the restaurant can do better and should be aware of what they can improve upon. I would like to give it another chance but I’ll wait a bit.

    I liked the food. The croissants were very delicious. Our server was wonderful and attentive. It was very noisy and difficult sometimes to have a conversation. We made a reservation, but all they had available for us were high-top tables, which are not very comfortable for me.

    I took my wife here to celebrate her birthday and we had a great time!! Service was good considering it was busy the wait was a little long but nothing terrible. A plus was our drinks got out right away! The frites were my favorite and the jowl bacon is a must try! We will definitely be back!

    I’ve been to this and other locations for breakfast and lunch and loved it. This time I went for happy hour for a special celebration with a couple of friends. I was not impressed at all with the service, the quality of the bar drinks, or the food. We ordered a bottle of the top champagne and I had to twice go back to ask for glassware that worked better for champagne. The seating isn’t comfortable for lounging and the food was heavily sauced, not great for cocktails. This is a bar downtown so I really wanted it to be a great option. The open air feel and location is ideal for grabbing a cocktail, but it was empty, the waitstaff talked to each other and not us, and was apathetic about their work from what a I could tell. The exception was the pastry bar- which is a highlight of all the locations and well serviced.

    We were there toward closing time on a Saturday, so it was pretty clear that some employees were trying to scoot us out (last call for drinks at 8:30 pm?!) Apart from that, though, the server was very friendly, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was a hip level of mellow--perfect for the occasion. I've already recommended the place to several friends.

    Sat at end of table with a whole party that kept passing baby back and forth over table, yelling to each other over us (standing at end of table and then to someone in middle of table), disregard for others at the table pretty much which made the experience sub par as these were not the only people in the restaurant but acted like they were.

    I took my daughter to brunch at this location for her birthday and had a reserved table. The table was literally right beside the front door, the ONLY table parked next to the front door and we froze the entire meal. The champagne was served lukewarm and in wine tumblers. As I mentioned, this was a special occasion! Best experience was the food.

    We made reservations in advance to sit at the bar but my wife and I still had to sit at the counter overlooking the kitchen, with our backs to the entire bar. Very disappointed!!

    The menu is different with interesting choices. The food was delicious, well prepared and nicely presented - well above average. The noise level is high and somewhat distracting limiting conversation primarily to the person sitting next to you. Seating is counter or common (narrow) row tables with most at bar height. This is not a cozy setting. Parking, if required, is challenging. Overall the selection, quality of food and the service levels demand a return visit, given the distractions as described.

    Food was very good, but waitress kept disappearing when we needed something. $78 for two burgers and fries with a bread basket is a bit much!

    I first visited the Gallery Pastry Bar for a friends bachelorette brunch. I visited a second time with another good friend of mine because I had such a good experience the first time. This recent visit was my third, and was for a bachelorette lunch I had planned for a longtime friend. I’m already planning my next trip so my husband can experience the bread sampler plate and awesome ambiance. 10/10 would recommend making reservations ahead of time!

    Everything from start to finish was wonderful. The ambiance created by the communal live edge tables, Moroccan lanterns, chic bar and visibility of the kitchen and pastry case set the mood for an enjoyable evening. The reception and service staff were gracious and knowledgeable, with great suggestions for wine and our entrees. And the food? It was magnificent. The breads were pillowy, airy, and delicate inside, with great crusts on the breads and textbook lamination and glossy folds on the croissant. The filet was cooked perfectly to our requested temperature, with a great sear and nice chimichurri. The chicken piccata had a delicate thin coating that provided a great textural contrast to the tender chicken inside and the nicely executed pasta with a hint of acid lent by citrus and the tang of capers. We finished up with some macarons, which had that perfect crispy shell, toothsome interior, and delicious fillings.

    Everything was great! I was there with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday - we all enjoyed our food, drinks, and overall experience! If you go, get the Brunch Frites - so good! I also had the Gallery Smash Burger, and I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Indy so I can get it again!

    Kira our server was EXCELLENT- knew all specifics about menu, great cocktails & wines, and local ingredients- the desserts are superb, used fresh lavender in one of the eclairs. Very creative cuisine. We will be back! Geared to a younger audience but us seniors loved it too & didn’t feel out of place, nice music selections too! Don’t let the name of restaurant throw you off, FULL menu , not just desserts.
