Food and service both outstanding. Highly recommend langostino and crab bisque and steak with truffle hollandaise.
The food, service and ambiance at Gabrielle were perfect, as always.
This restaurant is absolutely fabulous. This was our first time coming here. Shame on us for not coming sooner!! We ordered the bbq shrimp pie as an appetizer. The flavors were incredible. For the main course I ordered the slow roasted duck. It was totally to die for. To layer the veggies and the shoestring potatoes beneath the duck is just genius. The potatoes soaked up the broth from the duck and the veggies. My husband ordered the pork chop. It was "melt in your mouth" incredible. We are certainly going to come back. Incredible people, as well. Ask for Kathryn as your waitress. She's awesome!
None better. Seriously good food. Don’t miss going.
Outstanding. Every dish was awesome. BBQ Shrimp Pie and Oysters Gabie were perfect starters. The Slow Roasted Duck was spectacular. Front of the house staff were totally accommodating. I simply cannot express how much we enjoyed Gabrielle.
Great place to dine , I recommend highly, a real place not a franchise
Excellent food and service, great value/well curated wine list. Hearty food, not dainty, but nice choices done well and enough options to suit a variety of eaters.
Second visit & can't wait to return. There were four of us & all agreed the food and service were outstanding. For starters we shared the Oysters Gabie & the BBQ Shrimp Pie. Then we had Snow crab & lobster bisque. Entrees included the slow roasted duck & pan seared Gulf fish. Each and every dish was "moaning good." Highly recommend this restaurant.
The service was impeccable and the food and cocktail were outstanding. They were thoughtful enough to put birthday confetti on the table prior to our arrival as I had included in the reservation we were celebrating my daughter’s 21st. One of the finest restaurants in a food city!
Perfect as always
Had a great birthday celebration. Thanks
Great food and service
Outstanding classic new orleans neighborhood restaurant that has the chops to be downtown. Greg always does an awesome job, and although my date's steak was not to her liking, they did happily replace it with another entree of her choice. Service was what you would expect and beyond. Slow roasted duck was a smash hit and the winter salad paired expertly with it.
Gabrielle is one of the most comfortable and inviting restaurants in New Orleans. The ambiance is perfect for a date or dinner with friends. The food is rich, comforting, and full of New Orleans while remaining inventive. My favorite dishes were a fried boudin stuffed andouille sausage served with watermelon and the lemon chess pie which nearly brought me to tears. Service was a little slow, but nothing beyond what we expect in this post-pandemic short handed era. I now understand why Gabrielle, closed for so long after Katrina, was instantly a hit when it re-opened.
Everybody was friendly, helpful and pleasant to be around. The food was delicious, especially the peppermint ice cream!
Chef Sonnier continues to shine! Absolutely some of the best food in the city! Divine soft shell crab. Great server- Nelson.
BBQ Shrimp Pie, you must try! The service was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The ambiance of the restaurant lended to a “sit and stay for a while” feeling. It is a gem that we stumbled upon by accident on Open Table, and we are still talking about our lovely experience!
My friend and I shared the barbecue shrimp pie, the summer salad, and the signature dish of the roasted duck. It was absolutely outstanding! Even my old fashions were great! First time at this location but was a frequent visitor of the Esplanade spot. The duck was unbelievable, so tender & flavorful!
Dinner at Gabrielle was absolutely perfect across the board. We will return!!!
Lovely dinner as always, Still the best Pate in town!
Amazing experience, insanely authentic New Orleans food.
Wonderful experience. Food was outstanding and the atmosphere was eclectic and welcoming. We’ll be back!
We really enjoyed eating there, but they do not have a coolinary menu at this time. I suggest that Open Table check with them to update you website. They are listed as having one.
They had an interesting menu and great service. This was not a our first time there either!
Every dish was amazing among our party of 4 and waiter kept us to the one hour we had due to a Saenger Event that evening. Great spot for before the theater.. we park near the theater and take a ride share or taxi to the restaurant. Then get dropped off at the theater by our return ride share.
Excellent food and drink all around. Great service too.
It's more expensive than we expected. Some of the food, like the duck, was very good. The rice in the gumbo was hard, like it wasn't cooked enough. Service was good, and the hostess was very friendly.
Service was awful. They had two waiters, we got the bad one. The gumbo was rejected, the oysters with artichoke was very good, the trout with crab was delicious. Maybe it’s because of no help available but menu was limited. I always look forward to eating in NO, but this was a disappointment.
Everything was amazing!
Ok, just get the duck - duck main dish and the the pate’ both are delicious. The soft shell crab was great too. Here is the deal - the crawfish enchiladas are worth getting whatever the gulf fish is because this side outshines pompano.
The boudandouille is a new app that certainly need a try too.
Take atleast four folks so you can try a few bites of the table.
So glad we came. It was a superb experience. You should try it!
The food was interesting and delicious! The timing of the bread, meal, etc. was a little off-- we should have received bread right away, and no one checked on our need for drinks/water for quite a while at times. The owner was charming and friendly, and their basic red blend wine was excellent for the price. This was a lovely meal, with great gumbo and desserts.
Food was amazing. The peppermint patty and BBQ shrimp pie were omg! Fish was flaky and seasoned perfectly. Lamb chop special was perfect.
My meal started out great with the shrimp pie appetizer with a crisp crust and wonderfully creamy sweet potato, although even the sauce on that dish was a bit round (too much oregano, I think) and the wonderful butter served with the bread. But things went downhill from there. I ordered the chef's specialty, duck, and I didn't like it at all. There was a lot of duck, but the skin had been removed and "crisped" which meant burned and I didn't like the sauce. To their credit, they replaced my duck. My second order was the pan-fried gulf fish. It was blackened and tasted fine, but I found a bone which I am phobic about, and again didn't like the sauce. I stopped there, although some of the desserts looked tempting. The restaurant is small and pleasant, and the service was very attentive. I might give it another try if I was sure the paneed veal would be on the menu; it sounds wonderful.
Everything was wonderful! Husband truly enjoyed the lovely BBQ Shrimp Pie appetizer (one of his favorites!) and his entree Paneed Veal with a delicious brie and crabmeat sauce (if you like crab, this is your dish!). His favorite dish in the world is Chef Sonnier's extraordinary Slow-Roasted Duck, but the Veal rivaled that perennial favorite. The Crawfish Enchiladas were magnificent -- and definitely remain one of my personal favorites : ) Service was prompt without being over-solicitous, with our wait staff being well-educated on the dishes and specials of the evening. Overall, a lovely dining experience!
The food was delicious!!
Food was spectacular and service was outstanding!!
Gabrielle never fails to impress! The food CONSISTENTLY is amazing, as is the service and the atmosphere. It remains at the top of my favorites list since they were on Esplanade Ave!
Fantastic meal from start to finish. One of the City's best neighborhood restaurants.
