Good food, great surroundings and attentive service made this Sunday brunch a good capper too a nice weekend in Charleston. The room itself is airy and welcoming. Food was unique and delicious. Make sure you have the beignets to start.
Mediocre at best. Would not recommend. Ove.r priced
Great service and food. Wonderful lunch with a friend
Gabrielle Charleston is a wonderful place to dine. A number of us had the special of day namely: omelet with lobster. Honestly, it was bland, and not at all the savory in flavor. It was lacking basic spices, as well as a myriad of other spices that could have been added. Otherwise, our waiter Carrie was very accommodating, and we truly enjoyed our stay at the Gabrielle and most certainly will return on other occasions. Thank you
The service was outstanding but sadly not the food. The beef tenderloins were tough but the eggs cooked very well. The portions were rather "uneven" for the two of us.
My wife and I hosted two other couples and our son for my 55th birthday. All I can say is wow. We had an awesome time. First and main point - Gabrielle allows corkage and we took advantage with two bottles from my stock. This is a major plus for me. As to the food - it was amazing. There is a good variety of seafood, beef, and fowl dishes. For the appetizers we ordered a good variety from seafood to salads to foie gras. The snails and the liver were very fine selections. As to entrees - there was a great steak, lots of fish and I had the duck - which was very good. We pretty much tried all the desserts and everyone had a taste of each. They were all good - but the two chocolate dishes were superb. The service was very fine as well. Our server (wish I could remember her name) was one of the best. She was super tolerant of us as a noisy group as the alcohol increased over the night. All in all - Gabrielle is a welcome addition to the Charleston restaurant scene.
Beautiful setting for lunch with a friend. The macaroons were a perfect touch to end the meal. Made in house and perfect as they were fresh.
Stunning! Decor, food and service. A must visit!
Excellent food and service! If price doesn't matter to you, then come to Gabrielle. You won't be disappointed.
Very nice and intimate
We had an excellent business dinner, food was delicious and beautifully presented. Wine selection and cocktails were superior. Elegant surroundings and attentive service complete the picture
Very nice lunch. Everything was good and waiter was great.
This was our first time here and the lobby and atmosphere feels upscale. The dining room is a bland low-key with pale wood and little color. Our two staff were familiar with attentive service and quite knowledgeable about the chef's preparations. The first two pinot noirs we ordered were not according to the vintage but the third was excellent. The gumbo was definitely New Orleans style. Duck and fish entrees were quality portions and prepared with interest.
Service was slow and not up to par with the menu prices and hotel expectations. Took over 45 minutes to get breakfast, $5 for a kids drink and just overall not the dining experience we were expecting at such an elegant hotel.
5 year Anniversary and NYE with friends. Was never told about the pre set menus while making reservations. Requested Caviar because it’s an Anniversary for my wife and I. After making a bit of a stink about even servicing it because it wasn’t on the preset menu it was served. The presentation was sloppy and served with a metal spoon( which is a big no no). Any restaurant that claims to be as nice as this one does should know that. All the main dishes were generic and bland. My wife asked for a substitution with her main dish and after never confirming it could be done. I was given her meal and she received something she never ordered at all. The meal was over 1500 dollars for 6 people and we all left disappointed. With the number of choices in Charleston I’ll not be returning to this one!!
Outstanding food and service. We enjoyed a walk through the park and up King St after dinner. Fast developing into one of our favorites.
Came here for our family dinner before the new year. Service was wonderful, food was so delicious, the Molecular gastronomy is suburb. We wanted to savor each bite!!! The ambiance was beautiful!!! My favorite place for an elegant dinner.
It is a gorgeous location, with good food and service
Our experience at Gabrielle’s was mediocre at best...the restaurant was nearly empty, quite chilly and one large very noisy party. The facility is beautiful, but not warm and welcoming.
We found the food to be mediocre at best ....the charcuterie platter was sparse. We were there for lunch and the menu did not have any appetizers but soup and salads. The charcuterie platter was not on the menu...our server only recommended it when we commented on the absence of appetizers.
We had the shrimp etoufee and the king’s club sandwich which were fine, but nothing special. Our server, Austin was professional and personable.
It was Christmas evening and difficult no doubt, to find help.
The waiter had little training and the second floor dining area has little ambience... my view was the service elevator, partially obscured by a screen. The table seemed especially wide, making conversation difficult as the noise level was high. That said, the food was good.
A generally bad experience. The chef was never able to cook a steak blue. After three tries I cancelled the meal.
The staff was cheerful this Christmas evening but the pace of the meal was dismal—2 hours for three courses. I presume the restaurant was short staffed and I’ve learned my lesson. Never dine out on Christmas!
Had to wait at empt reception desk for friendly but over worked hostess for 5 minutes
Seated in an upstairs room not the dinning room - focus on “stairs” - if you are booked to capacity you are booked.
Buffet food quality across all offerings was medicore at best. Staff friendly but needs to be trained - did not remove used buffet course plates or reset silverware.
We went for Christmas Day brunch and it was amazing. My mother is handicapped and they completely catered to her. The acoustics provided a cozy setting in an otherwise large venue. Food was fantastic because they did not create a free for all menu but fewer selections that were High quality.
We had a wonderful Christmas Day Brunch.
Disappointing experience. The buffet selection was ordinary except that the oysters and shrimp were excellent. Fruit juices were an additional charge as well as mimosas and champagne, which are usually included in brunches of this caliber. Room decor was lackluster.
It was as wonderful as we expected! Beautiful decor and the service was wonderful. since it was Christmas they were serving a buffet and many great choices.
What a wonderful breakfast on Christmas morning! Tasty food with a cheerful staff! Everyone made an effort to make the morning memorable!
Great service and fabulous food!
Very good overall would recommend to friends visiting , very friendly and attentive staff and the hotel was beautiful this time of year being Christmas. The dining room was upstairs with a beautiful view of the lights and Christmas trees in Marion Square
We had a wonderful waitress Carrie at Sunday brunch. The food was delicious. Lemon meringue and opera cake were perfect desserts for our meal.
I would recommend Gabrielle to anyone coming to the Charleston area or living here. First time I’ve been there and I am a local born and raised and will definitely go back. The food was unbelievable and the staff was totally incredible!
Awesome restaurant !
Caviar presentation needs some work. Caviar should be served on crushed ice and with Bellinis and/or non burned toast points.
Four very good friends enjoyed our annual Christmas lunch. The staff was incredible from the moment we arrived and met by the valet. The wait staff could not have been more accommodating and gracious. We were not rushed and spent our time chatting, exchanging gifts, laughing, enjoying The Bennett and the Gabrielle. We all will return together and with others. Thank you for giving us an afternoon that will be remembered for years to come
Excellent meal and even better service.
Food was great. Not busy at lunch time. Loved the service and valet parking.
Great food and service
