Our new favorite sushi restaurant! I had been once before with a girlfriend and loved it. Took my husband for our Anniversary dinner. We had the truffle hamachi appetizer (my favorite), sashimi moriawase, and a Venus roll. The food was delicious (very clean and fresh) and the staff extremely attentive - some of the best service we have had in years. They surprised us with a slice of black sesame cheesecake to celebrate the evening.

I took my girlfriend here for Valentine’s Day, we had a 7pm reservation. We did not get seated until 7:15 and there wasn’t a table available even though I selected that option, we were seated at the bar. We ordered 3 sushi rolls, oysters, gyoza, and a miso soup. It took 30 mins for the gyoza to come out and over an hour for our sushi rolls. A man came in after we had already been in the restaurant for over an hour and he ordered ramen and one sushi roll and both his items came out before our rolls. They made the excuse that it was busy because of Valentine’s Day but there was no delay for the gentleman next to us. The food was good but it was not worth the wait.

I found out about this place from instagram. I am not a total sushi guru but the salmon and tuna nigiri and rolls were fantastic. I love chicken teriyaki so this full grown dad of 4 ordered a chicken teriyaki from the kids menu and they didn't even give it a 2nd thought.. Whew. I would recommend this place to everyone..

We sat at the sushi bar hoping for some chef interaction and were disappointed to find that the sushi chefs were not communicative with us. Enjoyed the sushi we had, the miso soup and edamame. We also got the sunimono salad with fresh crab and shrimp and were very disappointed to receive a tiny one inch piece of crab. Would not recommend that dish. Waiter service was attentive.

Fujiya had an amazing ambiance. We had made reservations beforehand, and when we got there, everything was already ready to go! There was absolutely no wait for our table, unlike other places even though reservations have been made. Everything was so neat and clean. It really elevated the dining experience. Our server was super nice, and the food was great! We love how clean the rolls were, without excess rice or sauces so you really taste the main feature, the fish! The ramen was also very flavorful. My favorite of all was the nigiri though. It was so fresh and satisfying. Would definitely come back again!

Third time here. Once again, service and food were outstanding. We started with oysters on the half shell and continuing with nigiri and the Sakura roll which is made without rice. Everything was extremely fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious.

The service was spectacular. The food was absolutely delicious. The only item that did not hit the mark was the tempura lobster, which was over cooked leading the meat to be incredibly chewy. Otherwise, every single item we ordered was spot on fantastic!

On our favorite places to go to when we want Japanese food! Great food & service from the time you walk in. Use open table to make a reservation since wait time can be long if just walking in. They have outdoor seating but don't recommend during HOT summer days.

So we get here and they seat us because of the reservations but I heard someone else was going to have to wait for 45 mins. We sit down and it takes a really long time maybe 12-15 mins to get waters. We got seated at 7. Than to get our appetizers we didn’t get it till 8:00 ish. Our last sushi roll didn’t come till 8:45~. We had only ordered three of them. (Two were the exact same rolls but tasted different from each other so I don’t know what happens there) The service people were taking shots with two other tables they were serving because Idky? And these tables definitely got priority. I saw them sit down, get attended and their food before our last roll came out. The rolls looked amazing (perfect for ig) than you bite into it and it’s alright. Than you go for another piece of sushi roll and you notice an immediate difference in width. For having like 5-6 sushi chefs it took too long and what you get isn’t what you’ve paid for. I thought it’d be a better experience though. 😞 at least I got to talk a lot with my date. But I came there to eat ya know.

The food was amazing, we ordered a variety of items and everything was so fresh and delicious!!The customer service was amazing from start to finish! My party was running late, but the hostess kept the table open for me! Our waitress was very attentive. They were so gracious, they let us stay longer because we got a late start with our lunch, as they close at 2:30 to prepare for dinner.

Elk Groves hidden gem. The food is delicious, the menu is simple and not overwhelming like other Japanese restaurants in the area. Service was exceptional even with a busy night. This was our first visit, and definitely not the last. I highly recommend making reservations though, it gets busy quick.

Fujiya is the best Japanese restaurant in Elk Grove. I usually don’t like seafood but this is where I eat the half shell oysters, truffle hamatchi, and sushi. But let me tell you... They have a smaller menu but everything is so flavorful and the magic of it all is right behind their sushi bar. If you are able to sit at the sushi bar, you should. You can watch the chefs prepare everything and you can even see all of the ramen being made. It's truly a magical experience. Go. Stop reading reviews and just go!
