Not sure if Frieda’s is under new management but the vibe has definitely changed. Missed the Latin music and quality service. Restaurant was also very warm inside (not sure if air conditioning was broken).
Beautiful setting. Fantastic food. Service-wise everything went wrong. We requested a patio table and were offered a choice between a table without an umbrella for shade or an inside table. We opted for the outside sun, which was mostly tolerable except that the meal took over 90 minutes. Drink orders were missed. The food took much too long. I don’t know for sure where the problem was. Our server seemed to be doing her best. We probably won’t be back.
I would give 0 stars if that was an option. We had reservations at 6:30 and didn't get sat until 7:30. It was Cinco de Mayo so it was understandable they were busy, but the entire staff had an attitude with us. We then did not have a single server come to our table once we sat down. We left the restaurant at 8 after sitting there for 30 minutes unattended. We will not be returning.
Food was good! We didn't have very good service, as we had two young people taking care of our table, both wearing "trainee" tags, but no more experienced server guiding them. But our food was good and I hope they can improve the service with experience.
Food took 30 minutes to come out. Had to ask for chips for the "Tres Amigos" I ordered as well as a refill on chips. They also were out of most of the beer options. Would not recommend. I drove all the way from Raleigh to eat there.
This was our second time at this restaurant. Did not like the food the first time but wanted to give them a second chance. They did not serve margaritas the first time we went so we were looking forward to one. The top shelf margarita was a huge disappointment. The entrees were average but the refried beans were the worst I have ever tasted. They were so salty that no one at our table could eat them. They have a very nice patio and the service was good but we will NEVER go back. Too many other good Mexican restaurants in the area.
The food at Frida’s Patio was very good! Their salsa was amazing! Most people sat out on the patio, which made dining inside very quiet. Our server, Victor, was really great. It has been difficult finding a good Mexican restaurant since moving to N.C., but Frida’s was probably the best I have had so far.
Waitress was not friendly and gave horrible service. Also the restaurant had a very foul odor when we walked in for the first part of our meal.
Food was good, but I can not get past the attitude of the hostess and waitress. I made a reservation specifying we were there to celebrate a birthday dinner with my husband and my mom. The hostess was sarcastic and made us feel like we were kind of a bother. The waitress was short with us and seemed to be fed up with dealing with anyone. We remained polite with them both and focused on enjoying our food. Maybe they had a bad day, or were short handed? Don't know. But it was our first time there and I can't decide if I will give them another chance. Disappointing night for a place with such potential.
Great service! Good selection. Will definitely go back.
I made the reservation but they closed early and never called or emailed to let us know. So when we showed up it was a surprise.
good mexican food. service was good, too. And the margaritas were tasty
Excellent, authentic food with quick and friendly service. Definitely recommended!
Great food, good & friendly service. What more could you ask for... other than maybe a little more alcohol in their mixed drinks.
The place was mostly empty. The food was tasty and the staff were very nice. It’s not on my list to go back.
First time visiting. Its definitely a higher quality of Mexican food then the typical local restaurants, but not overdone. The variety on the menu is good. They do not overload you with lots of similar dishes, instead they have some unique options that I do not see everyday. Little things stood out, like the quality of the salsa, side salad was actually a full house salad, and all of our dishes were good.
Ambiance was nice. Wait staff were attentive. We went on Valentines Day as a family and the restaurant was decorated and had a live musician. Drinks were good. Price was fair. We will go back for sure.
My wife and I love this place. Great atmosphere. Food is "Modern" Mexican and well prepared, not the ole Taco & Burrito fare.
If you like Empanadas, then this is the place for you. Chicken were the best. I had the Snack Chingon
appetizer variety plate I would not recommend, too greasy. Chips and salsa good. Margarita's, too sweet. Need a "skinny" choice. Not bad for a local Mexican food place, fresh new look at Mexican food. We will definitely go back but this time I will order Empanadas!
We ate on a Thursday night and even though there were plenty of open tables, it took nearly 45 minutes for our main course to be served. It was inappropriate for the manager to blame the delay on a new waitress when other tables with other servers waited just as long. The new waitress was nice and had the foresight to double check our orders before putting them in. Guacamole was just ok. The food itself was delicious. While we were given complementary churros because of the wait, I'd recommend looking elsewhere first for dinner.
Festive book club gathering with solid customer attention. Great food and drink!
One of the best latino restaurants around. 5 stars.
We see this place regularly when we go grocery shopping tucked away in the corner of the shopping center and decided to try it. We enjoyed the food and the drink specials. We were treated very nicely and have vowed to go back soon.
The quality of the ingredients used was great, The food tasted great, presentation great, overall great !
As always the food and service was outstanding !
Live music added to the evening
Food salty and just not very good.
