Friar Tuck’s on the corner of Pine & Commercial Street in Nevada City’s Historic District has been a festive dining and lounge experience since 1973. Friar Tuck’s features a warm, unique atmosphere with friendly staff, an extensive steak, seafood and fondue menu, award winning wine list, classic cocktails and live music 7 nights a week Friar Tuck’s was created in the winter of 1973. It is one of the first wine bars in Northern California and is honored to have received the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine for the past 15 years running. Live music, seven nights a week is also a huge part of Friar Tuck’s. Friar Tuck’s is proud to be one of the oldest privately and family owned restaurants in California and now the Paige Family have become the new Proprietors to preserve this landmark tradition in the heart of Nevada City. My 7 year old son and I went for his birthday dinner. The service was great. We ordered a Caesar salad — the dressing was awesome—and salmon to share and it came out in a timely manner. They were kind, bringing him a spoon for his pearl pasta and offering him ice cream for his birthday. The in-house music was awesome, a perfect mix of dinner music and entertainment, keeping us moving in our seats.

On this visit, I had the Chicken Picata. It was moist and delicious. The service was excellent, and it was a great setting for our dinner. If you have not tried Friar Tuck's yet, you need to make a point to do so.

Friar Tuck's never fails to disappoint. Wonderful atmosphere and very accommodating. I've never had a bad meal or entree choice here which makes it a faoorite stop while visiting Nevada City. I took my dad there for a Father's day dinner and he was thrilled. Will of course be back.

This is a great place for a quality dinner. The service is good, but the food is spectacular. It was an excellent experience. This is the best restaurant in Nevada City. You can always count on it for an extraordinary experience.

Awesome place to eat. We started off at the bar and had a few drinks from one of their friendliest bar tender Jeff. He was cordial, friendly and a very nice person to hold a conversation with. We then ventured to our table which was wonderful, we were celebrating our 44th anniversary and they took very good care of us. Starting with an appetizer to our dinner entre they were all very tasty and we enjoyed the flavors immensely. We were surprised with a creme brûlée from the staff on the house wishing us a wonderful anniversary. What a great restaurant we enjoyed our evening and will continue to return, as we always have!

We celebrated a milestone birthday here and had a fabulous time! The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the drinks were tasty and reasonably priced and the fondue dessert was so much fun! A great selection of fruit and sweets to dip into melted chocolate and we loved it! Thanks to our server Tyler who was kind, attentive to our needs and made the evening so enjoyable for us. We love eating here when we are in the area!

We started our meal with marinated mushrooms that were very good. I had prime rib that was really good and there was a lot of meat. My wife had fillet with blue cheese sauce. A little too salty for her. We shared a slice of cheese cake that was very creamy, very good taste

What a great experience with my daughter. From beginning to end, it was fantastic. Yo did a great job as our waiter, but ETAN and INDIGO were the stars. They supported the waiter's efforts so well. They were brilliant. It was another excellent meal at Friar Tuck's.
