About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Innovative
  • Vegetarian-friendly
Freya is a multi-course dinner restaurant focused on executing the points of service at upper echelon restaurants in larger markets while ditching the pomp and circumstance traditions that make regular people feel out of place. The last several years have been extremely challenging for most people. We feel strongly that great food, great drinks, and great hospitality are things everyone deserves. Especially you.

We offer a multi course menu and can accommodate the following diets: Omnivore (no dietary restrictions), Pescatarian (vegetarian + seafood), or vegan (no animal products used). With notice, we’re also able to modify many items to be gluten-free. We respectfully ask that further modification requests only be made in cases of serious allergies; we may not be able to accommodate certain dietary restrictions

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Doug Hewitt

From the OpenTable editors: A 2022 New York Times pick for the 50 most exciting restaurants in America, Freya is the place to be for a wildly creative fine-dining experience that feels casual and unpretentious. Executive chef Douglas Hewitt leads a super collaborative team that creates the seasonal menu in unison in the open kitchen. You might find a buñuelo dotted with caviar or lobster tangled in pea tendrils and immediately feel compelled to return so you can discover the latest adds to the menu.

We really enjoyed the meal. Also great drinks. The service was excellent….from the moment you arrived until you leave. Very attentive and engaging. It is expensive, a bit higher than other fine dining restaurants.

I must preface that the reservation at Freya was accidental. I thought I booked elsewhere. Because of this we were not totally in the right mindset for the experience Freya offers; but we were open minded. I think many of the dishes were really wonderful, flavorful and presented beautifully. There were several dishes that were a bit disappointing. The fish and chips was very greasy, and underwhelming. The Cannelloni was good, but not great in my opinion. In the final course, we had the Steak as well as the Pea Raviolo both missed the mark for us. The steak was seared, which if thats how you eat it, great but I prefer medium rare and was not asked or told how the Chef prepares. The Pea Rav. was a single massive raviolo we expected pea to be the star, but wrongfully thought it would be accompanied but a light wine sauce, it was served in broth. (I did not taste this but was told it was too much) I feel that some of the portions could have been a bit larger, and we left underwhelmed.

The overall experience was good. There is one thing could improve on which is the open kitchen ventilation. We were sitting next to the kitchen and smell cooking smoke coming out from the kitchen.

Worst experience ever !. We were 4 people, most dishes were vegetarian and portion sizes made for babies not adults. To top it all off, it took them ages to bring each dish. We left paying almost $1000 and had to go someone else at 10PM to get proper food. We will never visit here again and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
