   Came here on a Saturday night with my family. The restaurant doesn’t offer a kids menu but we made do with the chicken rotisserie and mashed potato plate. The food was excellent. My kid loved it. However, the service was slow. It could be because they were busy with Saturday night crowd; still it took over 30 minutes for our food and my kid was restless. Once we got the food, everything was excellent. We ordered the apple tart for dessert and that was fantastic as well.

   Great food. The owners are super friendly. The Wait Staff was very friendly. Reasonably priced for what you get. Overall, it was a perfect evening out. I highly recommend this restaurant.

   The food is absolutely delicious as always. The fried calamari appetizer was perfect. Onion soup was rich and flavorful. The salad was so fresh. Loved the tangine lamb with couscous. Service was attentive. This is my go to French restaurant when I’m in the Palm Springs area.

   We love the new menu! Great options. The chicken is our favorite. They serve the best Caesar salad, too. . We also love all of the side dishes. Service is superlative! Just go!

   Although we had eaten at French Rotisserie Cafe several times in the past, this meal was a disaster. After we were seated, the server brought water, said that he would be right back, and then disappeared for almost fifteen minutes. The host stopped by and asked about the service, and I told him that there had been essentially no service. He assigned a different server (who was very good), and then his wife (who runs the front end of the restaurant) began to argue with him about server assignments. We ordered from the replacement server and received our first course promptly (onion soup and pate). Both were OK, but certainly nothing special: my wife felt that the pate was one-note and lacked depth of flavor, and the broth in the onion soup was strangely thickened (although the cheese croute on top was excellent). We also ordered a bottle of Bordeaux. I had relatively low expectations, since all of the bottles on the wine list were about the same cost, regardless of varietal or source. The wine was not good. About a half hour after we received our first course (and about 45 minutes after our order had been placed), our server came out and said that the kitchen said that they were out of halibut (my order) and could offer me cod. At that point, which was over an hour into the meal with only mediocre first courses served, we decided to pull the plug. We paid for what we had been served and left. No acknowledgement or apology from management. We will not be back.

   The French Dip was good not great, somewhat dry and tasteless. The servers seemed overextended. It was Mother’s Day and as a one time waitress I know Mother’s Day is a tough day on servers. A bunch of cranky old women- I am an82 year old woman so I know about cranky old women - are not fun. I go to this restaurant quite often, and this is the first time I have been disappointed in the food.

   I visited French Rotisserie Cafe in Palm Desert and I enjoyed authentically French cuisine there. I sat outside in the patio and the service and ambience were outstanding. I especially liked the french music, which added to the authentic atmosphere. So the food and atmosphere were excellent and very French. Highly recommended.
