Nice portions and blend of flavors. Every bite was well balanced and had variety.
The Cafe does capture the atmosphere of a "market cafe" and the food choices follow the same down-to-earth style. Quality very good. Service was a little spotty when we were there, but that too may capture the market-cafe style. Overall: we will dine there again and bring friends.
It was a disappointing trip and not up to usual Jean Robert standards. Despite an unusually slow night, the service was slow and the food was undercooked. The kid friendly items have disappeared from the menu. Hopefully, this was an exception to the norm.
Food was fantastic! Service was spot on! Lighting should be a little dim, not so bright for dinner.
Incredibly good food and great service. Considering the price and quality, this is one of the great dining bargains. Outstanding.
Great food, excellent service.
Looked to be understaffed for Valentine day. Only one bar tender who was running out of clean glasses and customers from the seated tables were by passing servers and going directly to the bar for a drink. Witch he was verbally not happy about. Ran out of bread and the specials by 8pm. We were seated 30 mins after reservations. Outside view there was no leader on the floor and no proactive thinking staff to help make the evening work. Had the fish it was over cooked, beet salad was good but very small. The steak tartare was very good. Have been many times for brunch and did not have this experience.
This was a very disappointing dinner. We arrived two minutes before our 7:45 reservation and were told we were early. We were finally seated at 8:10. It was nice have some water to sip while we waited another 10 minutes for our waiter. We ordered drinks; they arrived about half an hour later. In the interim we ordered our food and were told we would get some bread to tide us over, but that didn't arrive till 15 minutes after our drinks. When our food finally arrived at about 9:15, the onion soup was cold. The tuna tartare and the short ribs were very tasty, but by then we were very frustrated, and our waiter knew it. He comped us dessert. Overall, this was not what we expected from a Jean-Robert restaurant. Granted it was a busy Valentine's Day on a Friday night, but the management did not plan appropriately.
Tasty food ,excellent service and charming ambience
Was a delightful dinner! Fantastic presentation and delicious food! Great, friendly service! Chuck and Grant were awesome! Definitely going back!
Great evening! Meal was outstanding as was the service
Outstanding as always. Cannot wait to return. Easily the best restaurant in this town and the only one that transports me back to France everytime.
Excellent all the way around. Server made great recommendations.
Always a wonderful meal and excellent service.
Overall good experience Food was good but on the pricey side. If you like French cooking it's worth a try. We also went in the morning for croissants which were delicious!!!
As always, the food was spectacular. The service is exceptional especially for selecting a wine to my preferences. It’s a wonderfully comfortable setting. There are always other customers with whom to chat if you so choose. The perfect place for an occasion or for just a great meal.
The food and service were excellent! So much attention to detail!
We all had the specials and they were exceptional. The service was especially attentive.
We love this place. Always consistently excellent. A wow menu, service and wine choices.
We highly recommend it and will be back!
We enjoyed our meal immensely. The service was on par with waiters in Paris. The food was simply divine. Wine pairings were appropriate. Overall an excellent luncheon before a trip to the Cincinnati Art Museum. So glad we did not let the fire alarm noise dissuade us from keeping our reservation.
Wonderful. Our server Grant was excellent
New Years Eve dinner
I appreciate the stand Jean Robert took on Bulliett Rye. The same company that makes Bulliet also makes Redemption, MGP. The manager is looking into this. MGP makes spirits for a lot of brands. Until it is clarifies Redemption is off my list. The Russell's Reserve was very good. Jimmy Russell and his wife are nice people. Thank you Jean Robert for maintaining your principles. You're a blessing.
Went here for a New Year’s Eve dinner before the music hall concert. The food and service was great. Loved the salmon and special feature the beef Wellington. The French Pinot noir was really nice. Lots of parking and easy access was great for our group as one of us cannot walk a long distance yet. Our server graciously packed up our lovely deserts when we realized we were running behind to the concert . Everyone in our group of 8 were very happy!
Our annual Xmas eve stop.
Eggs were cold. Quiche was cold.
Food and service were excellent. We will definitely be back.
Food was great, but prices were high. Noise was a bit much for me.
As the restaurant became more crowded the noise level was a little much. Also if you are someone who eats a keto diet we found it hard to make changes to our meals - such as removing the potatoes from our dish. We ate around the potatoes and both of us did not really see why the potatoes could not have been removed once we received our meals. Otherwise, we had a great time
Everything about the experience was wonderful. The food was great and the atmosphere was very pleasing!
Very nice place to have a relaxed meal. The service was terrific.
The soup and main course were very good. The dessert - a French apple tart - was very disappointing. It was cold and the crust was inedible. We should have sent them back. I expect much more from a Jean-Robert restaurant. Not the way to end an otherwise good meal.
Yes,, I tell everyone about it. Real food of course.
Simply one of the best restaurants in town.
Lovely service as always, food was both good and great price. Wish there was a bit more to pick from, it would make it easier to come by more often.
My wife and I dined at the French Crust Cafe and Bistro before attendees the Cincinnati Symphony. Parking was convenient in the Findlay Market North Lot. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived for our 5:30 reservation. The menu is limited, but it offers several good choices. The entrees and a soup op salad are all pre-fixe. My wife chose a special for the evening. The steelhead trout was tasty. She also had the French onion soup. I selected the soup du jour which was a nice creamy potato soup with bacon. My entree was the steak frites. The steak was cooked to my request (medium rare). The fries were fresh cut and tasty. For dessert my wife had the pumpkin tart which had a nice spice flavor. I had the pot de creme which was also very good. Our server was attentive and helpful. We would return to the restaurant for another meal.
Thank you for a great evening. We will be back. KB
Our second visit to French Crust and every bit as good as the first. I had escargot, butternut squash bisque, the red snapper special, carrot cake , two glasses of wine and coffee with dessert. She had the house salad, steak and fries, creme brulee, two glasses of wine and coffee with dessert - all for $118.00, not including gratuity. I think for the quality of the food, the preparation, the excellent sauces and the service the price was a bargain. Similar meals closer to the heart of downtown would have cost much more. We will return.
Great pre-theater dinner. Quaint, comfortable, great service.
