Frank's Restaurant started out as a deli that sold sandwiches like po' boys and muffaletta, and has since expanded its menu and created dine-in seating options. It is open every day of the week for lunch and dinner.Frank's Restaurant has lots of great dishes that visitors should try out. On the appetizer side, there is everything from fried crawfish tails and crab cakes, to fried calamari and Italian stuffed artichokes. Server was brusk; place is a dive inside. Frank’s tossed salad was only lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber, which was a concerning start to the meal. However, our chicken Marsala was tender and the sauce was flavorful with lots of mushrooms. The pasta and sausage was good with the marinara sauce having a good flavor. Overpriced for the ambience and food, but we were happy with our entrees.

My stuffed artichoke was cold in the middle and obviously not a good artichoke. No meat on the leaves and very little if any heart. Way too much stuffing for an artichoke. Mussels were fair. Marinara sauce was dull. But our server was great. We ate on the balcony and it leans so much our plates might have slid off the table. Scary to me.

There were many open tables and they sat us at the kitchen door. The shrimp in the po’boy was from frozen and had NO flavor. The table top was vinyl and did not feel clean to the touch. We were the only people in the place for the whole time it took us to eat. The help wanted sign on the website should have been a clue. The proprietor did not even greet us when we came in or while we were there or when we left. Not a pleasant experience in any way.

This has to be the worst restaurant. I could not even eat it.. I am Italian and took one bite of the meatballs disgusting. They use cheap quality food. Parmesese is the worst. Bread horrible. After we left we went across the street to one of Our favorites Italian Barrel. Had not been to Frank’s For years. Will never go too many other Fabulous restaurants in New Orleans

We had a muffuletta sandwich and salad with white wine. The sandwich far exceeded expectations and it was huge!! Yum would recommend everyone try this sandwich here! We were upstairs it was not busy during a rain storm on April 15. Our server lacked personality and walked extra slow when taking our order or bringing our food. We would have had dessert and another drink had he offered rather than just bringing us the bill. The tables around us seemed well attended by waitress upstairs so that is good.

We had an absolutely wonderful meal. We started with meatballs. They are so yummy. And wonderful cocktails. Then had caprese salad - very generous portion. My main entry was veal piccata- delicious. We finished with creme brulee! All wonderfully. But the service we got from Kathy was fantastic. She made our night special.
