Francesca’s Bryn Mawr became the 8th restaurant added The Francesca's Restaurant Group in 1999. Located in the old Bryn Mawr Apartment Hotel, Francesca's Bryn Mawr brings a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, good rustic cooking, friendly service and fair prices to the Edgewater neighborhood. The menu features the zesty earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio.

About the Francesca’s Restaurant Group: Founded in 1992 by Restaurateur Scott Harris, Francesca’s Restaurant Group has grown from a small, welcoming Italian restaurant on Chicago’s North Clark Street to a restaurant group of 5 concepts across 25 locations in 3 states. As always, Francesca's never disappoints! I live in the neighborhood and have lost count of how many times I've visited and joined friends here for dinner. In these days of social distancing, it was very comfortable dining outside. The "moderate" noise level is the result of street traffic at what can be a busy intersection. It's always temporary and won't prevent me from returning.

Absolutely killer Italian food. The staff is fantastic and just lovely to patronize. Food is always exceptional and the wine list is good and also reasonable. Desserts are always worth leaving room for. Great atmosphere and a gem of a place in Edgewater.

COVID temp checks are random depending whether or not you check in at the front desk (we ate outside and my friend just sat down when he saw me without ever going to the front desk). Service was fair- it took awhile for our drinks to come. At one point, before my entree came, they took away my silverware. When my entree arrived, I had to wait 5 minutes after a reminder, to bring me a fork.
