Will Beckett and Huw Gott opened the first Foxlow restaurant in Clerkenwell in 2013 with the aim of creating a great neighbourhood bar and restaurant. Foxlow’s offering is simple, revolving around a real charcoal grill and impeccable seasonal and local produce from the best of British farmers and fishermen. Warm, informal service and a comfortable, lived-in interior add to the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. On St John Street, Foxlow is a 5-minute walk from Farringdon Tube Station, and 7 minutes’ walk from Barbican Tube Station.

Went to Foxlow before it closed. The experience was a little different to some years ago, but the quality of the food hadn't dropped. The devilled mushrooms made a great starter, the chicken waffle burger was needed to be eaten after seeing it going to another table, and the sunday roast was just right.

Go, go, go... this is Foxlow’s last week. Delicious steak, great wine, tasty starters, scrummy puddings... what’s not to like... especially when you add in charming staff!

Five of us had a lovely lunch today - fresh salad with meet cooked perfectly medium to rare; friendly and helpful waitress who was always on sight to help with enquires. A bit noisy as everyone in the room wished to make a point I suppose, overall a great experience. Thanks!

Had the burger deal, burger well done? Like many places erring on the side of caution, so food not up to the usual best and expensive for a burger and a beer. But this was our last time here, its closing at the end of June and we will be sad to see it go. Thanks to all the staff that have given us some great food, drink and memories.

Great restaurant and staff! I’m vegetarian and my boyfriend eats meat so perfect choice for our different dietary requirements. The restaurant also had a partnership with an organisation that funds breakfast for kids with struggling parents. A mere 30p is added to the bill. Fantastic idea!

I went for a business lunch with a colleague. I couldn’t give 5 stars to everything as that shouldn’t be possible but I’d like to. The whole experience was fantastic. Food is stellar.

Really tasty food, including great vegan options! The roast cauliflower with curry sauce was delicious. Pomegranate Margarita was amazing too. Nice atmosphere and service. :)
