We have the restaurant another try after a bad experience last year. The mushroom soup was too salty, the pasta was tasteless and overcooked, the old they use on the grilled pork chop was rancid. Just aweful.

Went with some friends to Fox and Rose for a late dinner after driving up to Petoskey the weekend. Both the food and the service were excellent.

We sat at the bar and our server was excellent. Had the chicken wrap and arancini. All very good. We enjoy coming here.

This was our first visit to Fox & Rose. I thought it was good overall. Food was good and came fast. Our server was a bit inexperienced but did a great job.

SERVICE WAS VERY POOR. WAITER SEEMED POORLY TRAINED; HAD TO COME BACK SEVERAL TIMES ON DRINK ORDERS AND STILL DIDN'T GET ORDERS RIGHT. ONE MEAL WAS NEVER EVEN ENTERED ON COMPUTER SO THAT PERSON'S MEAL WAS NOT MADE. MANAGER AND WAITER TRIED TO ACCOMODATE US AND WERE VERY PLEASANT, BUT THERE IS TOO MUCH RESTAURANT COMPETITION TO MAKE THESE BASIC MISTAKES. AMBIANCE WAS GREAT BUT WE NOTICED A GROUP OF SEVEN OR SO PEOPLE WHO CAME IN AND WAITED AT A HIGH TOP NEAR US, BUT WEREN'T EVEN ASKED IF THEY WANTED A DRINK OR AN APPETIZER FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES. WE REALLY WANT A RESTAURANT AT THIS LOCATION TO SUCCEED BUT SERVICE NEEDS DRASTIC IMPROVEMENT.

Very mediocre everything. It’s beautiful eating outside & we did. They were out of some things on the menu. We had to ask for silverware a couple times. The service was meh. Not going back.

Our waitress was trying, but the rest of the support staff was awful...our appetizers came out lukewarm and then a food runner delivered entrees before we’d finished apps...waitress admitted nobody brought out apps on time. We had to ask for water and bread, 1/3 entrees was good, the other 2 pretty bland and average, especially for the price. Took forever to order dessert, the bus boy sat the bucket of dirty dishes on the extra chair at our table to clear our plates (10 minutes after we’d finished). Highlights were the forest floor soup, the wine recommended by the server, and the server’s attitude and humor, but overall I can’t recommend this place.

The restaurant has potential but they need to have employees. No one was working, so we sat there for about 20 mins without anyone even bringing us water. We weren’t the only ones who left the restaurant hungry. Zero service and we were disappointed.
