GREAT FOOD GREAT PEOPLE!!!!
Our Family Friendly Modern American Tavern is located in the Historic Matchworks Building. This 50,000 square foot structure is believed to be the first factory in the city with parts dating back to 1868.
This family run restaurant is just that, a place for families and friends to come and enjoy delicious comfort food that will bring you back to those memories of Traditional Family Dinners.
Short Ribs, Cajun Shrimp & Grits, City Chicken to name just a few is what you can expect to choose from.
We can't wait to meet you and add you to our family.

We got there and there was a sign on the door saying they were closed! No one ever notified us and this was for my mothers birthday. We were very disappointed and will not be returning!!!
Was not impressed with the food. My husband is vegan, and had only 2 main course choices. Which sound good, but the roasted spaghetti squash was not good. Carrot slaw was awful. Red skinned mashed potatoes were paste, house meatloaf was blan. Will not go back. Very disappointed with food. Service was excellent. Waitress was on it. o
Fourk surpassed my expectations. The food was fantastic and the service was quick and friendly. I would highly recommend Fourk to friends and anyone looking for a fun restaurant.
The server was very nice and helpful. We were there early and it was not overcrowded ... we will be back!
There was really nothing horribly wrong with our dining experience. But there was definitely something missing. There was no character or personality to the restaurant. Although the place was practically empty when we arrived, the service was slow and apathetic. When I had to raise my voice twice to summon the waitress for another drink, it was over for me. The menu was intriguing with some different selections and I enjoyed the salmon I ordered. My dining partner wasn't happy with the city chicken, but more a matter of taste than preparation. At the end of our meal, the waitress seemed to be hurrying us off, assuming we didn't want dessert. It was a special occasion, but next time we'll go to a tried and true place and save the experiments for another time.
We were one of only three tables for Father’s Day lunch. The service was horrible. Very slow to get our meals, refills, and check (we were in for over two hours). There was some event happening in a back room which was very loud. Not kid friendly at all and the food was not that good. The price was fair and the dessert was very good.
We had a reservation. First person arrived and was waiting at bar. Second person arrived and they went to check in. It was over 10 minutes until someone came and seated us. Waitress was only one on floor and again, over 10 minutes when she came by to say she would be right with us after checking other party out. After 15 minutes wait barmaid came and took Oder. She took over waiting on us rest of evening. Again when other 2 joined us long wait to place drink order so we placed food order at same time. Good finally arrived and was good. We came back after not coming since Fourks opening where we experienced the same issues. Reason we came back was someone gave gift card.
Owners or managers were seen walking back and forth from kitchen area to office but at no time did theses 2 gentlemen approach patrons or jump in and help. We went to oatio to see band and bar handled waiting on patrons well. There were children- obviously family clearing bottles and cups
Definitely will only come for band but not for restaurant.
All I can say is good luck- see this place not lasting with service like this- hope you can survive onbar traffic when band plays.
The meals were good, had the pecan crusted salmon and the shrimp and grits. Liked those, the sides were lacking. I was not convinced that the raspberry sauce was a good pairing with the salmon, but the grits and shrimp were great. We also got the Mule and they were fantastic! We were told they make their own ginger beer in house.
We had high hopes trying The Fourk for the first time. The building is historic, and the menu looked good. When we walked in, the ambiance was nice.
Unfortunately, both our meals left something to be desired. I chose the French Onion chicken, which was delicious. My side choices, however, were not. The green beans were barely cooked and still quite crunchy and stringy. The sweet potatoes were anything but, had a strange flavor, and looked as if they had been way over cooked - they were a dark brown and not orange. I didn’t eat them.
My dining companion chose the scallops over Cajun grits. The scallops were cooked well, and were served atop an overflowing plate of grits. Being from the South, she was looking forward to them, but was very disappointed. The grits were lumpy, and had no flavor (cheese nor Cajun).
We both left feeling disappointed and hungry. High hopes, but we won’t be back.
This was our second time visiting this restaurant. The first time was on Mother's Day and we had to wait over 2 hours to receive our meals from a ridiculously limited menu. Staff is atrocious, left hand does not talk to the right-hand and all are completely and totally clueless. We were told they had no lettuce that day yet we saw several other people eating salads. If you are seated in the wrong place, you will freeze under a cold air vent and they will not move you. Staff does not listen when you enter your order. The second time we went they refused to seat us at the door even though I showed them a confirmed reservation made through OpenTable several weeks beforehand. So users of OpenTable should be aware! A confirmed reservation is only a request at this restaurant, it does not guarantee you anything and you may be met with hostility. Staff at the door was very rude and after much arguing, they finally accommodated us. To their only credit, the manager and one waitress did try to make things right. It is unfortunate, because the food is slightly above-average and taste. Not worth risking a third try when you live in the Cleveland area with so many choices.
Very good service from hostess to server. Good variety on menu for apps, salads, sandwiches, meat and fish lovers. Plenty of options for a light or stuff yourself meal. Fair prices on food and beverage. Would have loved to try the pumpkin pie but was too full from ribs.
Ribs were tender and fall off the bone. Carrot slaw different with it's slightly spicy kick. Smashed potatoes were tender and flavorful. Lemon Chicken cutlet juicy with just enough lemon flavor.
If this place had outdoor eating it would be a home run for casual dining. We will go again and will recommend to friends.
Great food and service, excellent happy hour drinks and live music. Will definitely go again.
Went for an early Friday evening meal for a special occasion due to time constraints. Waitress was very kind, but didn't seem to understand our that we were attending a Graduation later; and kept laughing. The draft beer I ordered was not available on draft; when it came in a bottle I needed to ask for a glass. I ordered the Caesar Chicken but was served the French Onion chicken. I did not send it back due to our time constraints; but it was good. The main dining room is clean, but the decoration left the room feeling big and not "cozy". Wood planks on the wall do not have clean joints. Something to brighten the black/blue space would be good. Finally, the large doors to the kitchen are in full open view - as are the waitresses and help that congregate to chat. I don't want to look into the kitchen or see the staff stand around and talk - they should be out of sight. In short, the food was good, the dining room was "ehh", and the wait staff needs to busy or out of sight. We may come back to try the bar as it does look inviting.
We waited over 40 minutes before receiving drinks (after 30 mins were told they were out of one desired drinks). When we expressed our dissatisfaction, our waitress was replaced by a manager who apologized and took our dinner order. Our order came 20 minutes later.
Food was just ok. Steak on the steak salad was marinated in something very strong and unpleasant tasting and was nearly raw. Asked for water for our grandson and never received it.
Thumping music was so loud we were unable to talk at our table.
Slow service, too loud and mediocre food make it unlikely we will return anytime soon. Manager did comp our drinks.
We were disappointed. The music was good, but much too loud to carry on a conversation. Service was slow and not very accommodating. My sister asked to order the scallops, but she did not want them blackened. She was told they could only be prepared as blackened. We didn't see why that couldn't be avoided. The salmon was okay. A good portion of my sweet potatoes seemed to be blackened; they should not have been. I am told that the ribs and short ribs were very good.
I have been to Fourk twice now, this being my second visit. The first was on a date with my boyfriend who was trying to recreate a "first date" atmosphere. He mentioned calling ahead to help make the night special by requesting a "Reserved for first date" sign which they did not do. While the food was good and the architecture of the building is cool, the waitress we had seemed very disgruntled and slow in service. Not the kind of "first date" I wanted to remember.
This second visit was the celebrate his birthday with his family. I originally booked the dinner on OpenTable, but ended up calling the day-of to change the reservations from 7 to 5 people as well as ask for dessert to be brought out as a surprise at the end of the meal. When we arrived the table was set for 6 and even on this 'Leave a Review' it mentions that the reservations were for 6 which is incorrect. The waitress seemed very inexperienced and was not trained well- enough to know the menu. She was disrespectful when taking orders by leaning into the table which caused my boyfriend's mother to have to move out of the way. Drink orders were messed up and laughed off by the waitress. At one point there were 3 employees scrambling with drinks around our table. Like I mentioned before, the food is good even though the menu is a bit haphazard in what is offered. At the end of the meal, no dessert was brought out for the birthday boy, which is what I called ahead of time for. Lastly, when paying the bill my boyfriend's mother was presented with the check and the waitress asked HER if she had a pen to sign the bill because the pen in her (the waitress') hand was her last one. So my boyfriend's mother proceeded to pull out a pen from her purse.
I just found the entire experience very unprofessional and do not foresee coming back. It's a shame because the the live music was nice and it has potential to be a cool dinner spot.
Food was excellent but very chaotic service. They are very unorganized too. A table behind our walked out after not being waited on for 45 minutes. They do not answer emails or questions on social media. The website showed only lunch for Mother’s day but when we arrived, only breakfast was being served. By the time we left at 12:30 p.m., they started serving lunch even though we were told we couldn’t get it until after 3 p.m. they need better communication.
Unimpressive. Nice redesign of facility but very basic breakfast food that you can make at home. Fair service. Drinks were weak.
Food was fair at best! Appetizer was good! Nice happy hour
The service was excellent and the food us locally grown and very delicious.
I am disappointed in this restaurant, we had a very poor experience on 5/11/18. The dining room was not that full. We made the reservation and got seated fast, but then it took almost 20 minutes to get drinks and another 10-15 minutes for our waitress to come back to place our order. Then the food took almost 45 minutes to come out and it wasn't that great. The French onion chicken was gross and too salty. The mac and cheese was watery. The spicey cauliflower tacos had only 3 ingredients, cauliflower, lettuce and only one slice of avocado. For the price and amount of time it took for the food to come out I rate this restaurant as very poor. I will not recommend it or go back.
We came for a Mother’s Day lunch and the food was great but the service was not up to standard. We didn’t get our bottle of wine until we were half way done with our meal. The deserts on the menu we were looking forward to is no longer available so perhaps remove it from your website?
Terrible food, service, and drinks.
Service at Fourk was terrible. Took 20 minutes to get our drinks. Food was nondescript. Mac and cheese came out luke-warm, grits in the shrimp and grit were lumpy and bland. Waitress messed up out bill, charging both bills (we were dining wit another couple) to the same card, took 20 extra minutes to figure it out, then charged the wrong amounts. When we asked to speak to the manager, he/she didn't come out and we ended up leaving after waiting 5 minutes for manager. At no point did they offer us a desert while we waited or any other compensation for the 30 plus minutes of our time they wasted. Don't waste your time eating at Fourk.
My wife and I were seated by a group of ten that were extremely loud. It was the hostesses first day and our servers second day. They were not familiar with the menu and when asked about the wine specials advertised on the chalk board by the entrance she knew nothing about it or affered to find out. Our favorite wines were no longer on the list and were replace by items I was not interested in drinking. Very dissapointing. will not return.
We decided to try Fourk on a whim after finding it through a Google Search. It was a great place to dine with friends and was quite on a Saturday Afternoon. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. Definitely will return!
Fourk is offering a special vegan menu once a month and we've gone three times. The food has very good each time. The service is disorganized and sometimes slow, but the food makes it worth the wait.
Family friendly. Good service. Good food at reasonable prices.
Open table described an elegant dining experience requiring formal attire and present a creative menu. This is NOT what you actually get. It is a very casual bar and grill serving acceptable comfort food with no imagination. If you know what you’re getting, it’s adequate. If you’re expecting a fine dining experience, you’ll be very disappointed.
Food is really good. The ribs are fantastic! Décor is minimal, ambiance is subdued. Service was good. Will try again.
Very nice, but a little skimpy on the steak in the steak salad.
menu was pretty good, with some unique dishes..appetizers were very good... I ordered pulled pork and it was very good. Wine list fair, some good beers. Nice place to have a conversation, not too noisy. The bar area is very nice, intimate, quite..able to talk or watch a game.
Holy monkeys, this place has delicious food. Our waitress was meh, but the rest of the staff were able to step up where she may have been overwhelmed. The staff are incredibly friendly, the place was clean and bustling. Overall, definitely recommend you eat here!
Two of us decided to try a new restaurant to celebrate a birthday and really enjoyed our meal here. Service was excellent, food was excellent, menu items are unique, yet comfort-type food. Great drinks too. Fun atmosphere in the Match Works building and enjoyable to watch the trains go by.
Excellent service. Great food that was organic and gluten free. Will definitely be back.
Our family had a great time at Fourk to celebrate my birthday. The menu had something for everyone and the portions were great for the price!
I booked a table for 4 for Easter. I received a confirmation email and number. Someone from the restaurant called me a few days later to tell me that they overbooked and that I would have to cancel. I told them that I had a confirmation email and confirmation number. She told me she would call me back. She never did. I called the restaurant the day before my reservation and was told that they were closed on Easter. Very disappointed by the unprofessionalism. They should not be on open table if they can’t communicate. My reservation should have been honored in some way.
Erika out waitress was fantastic. The food was delicious and you could tell whoever created the menu really thought their flavors through. Great experience
The food was great and tasty. Waitress was slow to refill drinks, extra ketchup and didn’t listen to our request to bring out the kids dish first. We tried to get her attention a few times without success.
I think our waitress was new because she forgot to bring our drinks and wasn't able to balance them on the tray. The service was slow but you could tell she cared and was trying her best.
