Fountain Lounge

The restaurant advertised the holiday Reveillon Dinners. After sitting down I told them I would be ordering the Reveillon Dinner. I was advised they decided not to have them. I left.

Very poor service. Very limited menu. Food was totally cold.

The gumbo was excellent. The shrimp were large and cooked nicely as were the fried green tomatoes. We were very satisfied with the meal and service. Kate was our waitress and Justin is the GM.

Greg was an absolute delight and gave excellent service when the restaurant was just about to close. He recommended the beignets even when the lights were coming in and the kitchen obliged.

The hotel was so beautiful!
The Fountain Lounge staff were very friendly and as good as they could be considering it appeared that they were probably understaffed.
The food was not good at all!
I really wish I would have taken a picture of what they served for what we paid.
With a very limited all day menu you would think that what they do have available would at least be of good quality.
The chef should be ashamed!
I will absolutely choose somewhere else to dine on our next visit to New Orleans!
They certainly did not give any reason to want to return.
I strongly do NOT recommend The Fountain Lounge at all!
Spend your money somewhere that will at least provide you with a quality meal!

There was a couple hair strands in gumbo, had to send it back. Waited almost 1.5hrs to get entree. Had to ask waiter over and over about timing of food.
Wasn’t charged foe the gumbo but was charged twice for bread pudding so waiter had to take the bill back - we were so ready to leave and had to wait again.
Food was good, nice place, beautiful hotel and nicely decorated for the holidays.

The fried chicken special was excellent. Both the hostess and our server were friendly and helpful. Overall a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend.

I could not be happier with our brunch! The staff was wonderful and attentive. Our sweet waitress Gabriella was exceptional! Everything was perfect. THANK YOU!

Terrible service

Drinks were excellent although pricey. Food was not pricey and good, but the menu is very limited. Service was slow.

I feel bad. They’re clearly very understaffed

got there on time. waiting ten minutes at the podium before someone came up to help us. they were totally understaffed. we were told to sit down and it would be 20 minutes (so 30 min passed our reservation) before we would be seated. so we left.

The service that my waitress Amy provided was phenomenal. She was attentive, but allowed me to have my alone time. She was very professional, yet relatable and shared with me the items she enjoys and kept my wine glass full.

Amy by far made this experience the best meal I had in my trip to New Orleans. Please pass on my thanks to her and the kitchen as your food was delicious.

Our experience was disappointing because we went specifically for Chef Carl’s Monday evening fried chicken special (which we had been to before and which was listed on the Lounge’s website), only to learn they weren’t doing the special that night. The servers handled our disappointment with grace and understanding, which was appreciated, and the food from the regular menu (chargrilled oysters, gumbo, burgers and chicken wings) was all good. One additional note/criticism is that drinks at the Fountain Lounge are very pricey.

We got there at the reservation time and there was not a single person to be found in the entire restaurant. No sign indicating closed and no call from restaurant to cancel my reservation!

Waiter was a little overwhelmed. Very nice fellow. But was having trouble keeping up. Place was full. Had to leave my table to go to request a refill of water.

It was very noisy in the main bar, so we chose to sit in the side room. Someone came to take our drink order right away, but then eventually we had to seek out someone to place a food order. The food was excellent!

Everything was great! We had several of the drinks and ordered food from the menu. It was a great Christmas lunch!

Amazingly accommodating, especially considering what it takes to be open during the holidays and Covid.

Traditional Revillion- meal was horrible, food was too salty , dessert was frozen and their mosca was horrible.eating in a bar with noise and no service- only thing was good the meal was comped, they were charging 75/ person- inedible

Food and Christmas cocktails were all delicious. Appreciate them being open so we can enjoy the decorations and have some good food and drinks.

My friend and I went there for a "light" dinner and a Sazerac. The ambience of the bar is of quiet elegance from a bygone era that's been resurrected. The bar has an extensive menu and drink menu. We had the fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious! You can easily have a full-size dinner from their menu. The service was great. She introduced herself -- which I appreciate. We watched the other food items being delivered and I was impressed. I could easily slip out of the nitty and gritty New Orleans life and ease into comfort at the Sazerac Fountain Lounge. If you are going now (December 2020), the lobby is fully lit up with white lights and holiday decorations. Definitely a great time to go!

The food was delicious and Chef Leon personally came to our table to talk to us. I would definitely recommend it to others.

I had leftovers that I brought to work with me the next day. It was fabulous!

It's a very convenient place to go before the Orpheum LPO concerts. The ambience of the hotel lobby sets a lovely stage for a meal, but the Fountain Lounge itself feels more like a hotel dining room (which, I KNOW, it is). The brussel sprouts were TO DIE FOR. The burger was delicious and the fries were hot, a real plus. But my husband's gumbo was not very flavorful and it was lukewarm.

Still, Trey was our server and he was terrific. AND, the amuse bouche offerings were a delightful lagniappe. We will return before future concerts,

I’m not a person to review but we had a wonderful experience ... it was valentines and we were treated like family it was a wonderful meal with great service

Great Breakfast! The Buffet is over the top. Very Gourmet. I had been eating so much I opted for something a little lighter and went for the Avocado Toast. Delicious! My daughters did the Buffet. Mimosas were awesome as well.

The Leek soup, Kay our waitress and the Piano and Piano and Base Duo completed a wonderful experience

Carl’s fried chicken is the best. It is only served on Monday nights, but should not be missed!

This was one of the best overall dining experiences that I have had in quite some time. Carl’s chicken is outstanding as is the red beans and coleslaw. Carl even came by our table for a little visit. I was quite impressed with that!! Will most definitely recommend this dinner to all my friends👏

Theater group went before Sunday matinee. We all enjoyed our breakfast choice and the Bloody Marys were especially good. The service was top notch. Nice atmosphere and good for conversation. It was a tasty meal and enjoyable time.

Great burger & gumbo. Service was amazing. Atmosphere much better since they changed out the band (too loud) for a piano player. Well made martini too!

Just a great way to start evening with a friend

We had a great meal at the Fountain Lounge before going to a show at the Saenger. The service was great and personable. Our waitress was wonderful. We enjoyed gumbo, sweetbreads and their meat and cheese board. We will definitely be going back maybee Ed for fried chicken night!

My wife and i enjoyed our romantic night at this historic restaurant. Our server, Tre was super nice. He told us it was Wine Wednesday, meaning some wines were 1/2. He recommended the brussel sprouts as an appetizer. They were delicious! We enjoyed talking to him about the Nola music scene. We loved this place and our service was outstanding!

the food here is always very good. we went this week for Sunday brunch. my daughter had a beautiful fruit plate. my omelette was excellent and my husband enjoyed his eggs and bacon. but for reasons that perplex me, service here is barely adequate. they lost our reservation. i had to show the confirmation on my phone. getting a drink refill reminded me of being in Europe. i couldn't get a straw or spoon to stir my tea. that wouldn't bother me so much except that we've eaten here four times in the past year, and it's always like this. but, like i said, the food is very good

With only 4 other patrons, it took several minutes to be seated. Servers were wandering around more concerned with setting tables than serving the guests there. Even after being seated, water service was slow. We watched 7 people leave because of slow service. We ordered drinks but the waiter didn’t ask if we’d like another. It’s a shame the service was so poor since the food was delicious. Certainly not what I expect in a Waldorf Astoria hotel restaurant.
