In 2016, we and Hilton Asheville Biltmore Park, in which we are located, received the top annual food and beverage award for overall food experience out of 218 Hilton Hotels & Resorts in the Americas region. Fork Lore is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

This restaurant is in the lobby of a hotel. It lacks decor & atmosphere. It is also understaffed. There were 2 ladies tending to all the patrons. The hostess could have helped, but instead sat at podium all night while her colleagues were overwhelmed. The first lady who tried taking care of us got so busy at the bar making drinks for other people that we didn’t even get water for over 10 minutes. The other server, Mariah, was fantastic. After she took over taking care of us, it was smooth sailing. The food was ok. I had the chicken pot pie, was better than expected. Cauliflower steak was good too. Overall, average place.

Only about 4 tables but we sat and sat and no one ever came to take our order so we left.
I.too, missed that the restaurant was in a hotel lobby. The buffalo cauliflower was not even breaded. It tasted almost raw and was drenched in buffalo sauce. The burger seemed to grow in your mouth- the meat was very chewy. The majority of our food (with the exception of a salad) was left on the table. The drinks were fair. Service was fine.
I should have read more carefully and understood this replaced a good restaurant. This is more of a place to eat in the lobby of a hotel - it is the hotel bar (complete with drunk girl karaoke and loud talking bar patrons) and is open to the reservation desk and the comings and going’s of guests. The menu was a little underwhelming, the waitress did not know how food was prepared to help me make a decision nor did the other waiter she asked. I really liked the buffalo cauliflower app with vegan blue cheese-it was the best thing we ordered! I was underwhelmed by the rest of the food- the bacon burger, the asparagus side, and the banana pudding were all kind of bland. Sweet potato fries were solid. Of all the great places to go in Asheville, this one needs some time to find what sets it apart and lifts it above ‘average hotel bar food.’
I somehow missed that this location was in the lobby of a hotel. The food was average.
Great Place, food solid - Tracy the waitress/bartender was outstanding. We were lucky to sit outside, but inside is more of a hotel bar area. Get the Sazerac - excellent drink. Definitely worth going if in area.
Appetizers were oily/greasy (ordered the buffalo cauliflower and green beans). Then we sat a long time waiting for two salads. Our server never checked on us, and didn’t clear our dirty food plates. He never informed us that the kitchen was backed up. After a long wait, my wife got up to find our server. She asked if our salad orders had been filled in the kitchen and our server then told her the chef was “swamped”. It was the first time we were told the kitchen was running behind. We canceled the salads and left with greasy film in our mouths from the cauliflower and our stomachs churning from the excess cheap cooking oil. Walked to a restaurant nearby for a quick and delicious meal.
The food was delicious and was a great value for what we got compared to the other restaurants around. Would go again!

We came from out of town for Thanksgiving in Asheville. We are staying on the other side of town but wanted to attend the movies near Roux. We chose Roux for dinner prior to the movie. It was a superb choice. The hostess gave us the best table for an extended family with a baby. The waitress knew the menu and guided us through it perfectly and then the food arrived. Exactly what we wanted and fit the description perfectly. This is a gem. I’m sorry we will be leaving town and not able to visit again. I highly recommend Roux.
Roux is almost a secret and that's a shame. Lots of other places to eat in Biltmore Park, but Roux is as good as any and better than most. The butternut squash soup was out of sight.
The menu is limited, but very interesting, sophisticated southern", Everyone in our party enjoyed their entrees, especially the Salmon.
Lovely lobby restaurant. It’s as noisy as a lobby gets so its a hit or miss on that. Friendly staff and food was delicious
Great meal. Service was very good. Not loud so we could talk. I would definitely go back!!!
We were one of three tables in the whole dining room and could not get anyone to wait on us for st least 15 minutes.
Maître d’ was new, and was yelling across the room for help. We told our waiter of my allergies, but when our appetizer came back it was all contaminated.
We love Roux because it is very quiet and very easy to have conversations with our dining partners.

Roux is a perfect dinner location before or after a movie at the Biltmore Regal Theater. Parking in adjacent garages is plentiful, well lit and convenient. We had drinks at the bar thatis shared by the Hilton Hotel lobby and the hotel restaurant Roux. At Roux, the homemade chips and pimento cheese app was crazy good. We then had very solid dinners of trout with almonds, cheese grits and collard greens and a salmon salad. The cheese grits were a bit thin and bland. The collards were sweet which I normally do not care for, but these were interestingly good and a perfect foil for the very well prepared trout. There could have been fewer stems in the greens which would have resulted in a more tender dish. There was a pretty good wine by the glass selection for both red and white wines. The staff was very personable but professional.
Food & service was excellent! We were greeted by a friendly, professional hostess and immediately felt welcome. Our server was personable and efficient as were all the staff and we had a very enjoyable evening with great food and great people. I would highly recommend!
Personalized service and excellent food. Loved the variety of entrees, appetizers, sandwiches and soups. The daily mashed potato and soup choices were garlic and broccoli cheddar, both were delicious. My water glass was filled throughout dinner and the portions were large. Our server had excellent suggestions, and checked on our food and drinks at perfect intervals. Can't wait to come back. The pork dish with apples that I had was amazing. My daughter's sweet potato fries were the best we've ever experienced.

After attending a show at Regal Cinema, we decided to dine at Roux for the first time. Very pleased with our decision. The bar busy and the dining room was not. I commented to the host & hostess that our reservation was not necessary and we were brought to a booth against the wall. The decor is simply, beautiful and relaxing. Fresh flowers at each table. The hostess conversed with us on recent movies, exchanging future movie "must-sees". Our server, Ruskin, warmly greeted us. We asked for water and time to sit while we read the menu and chose our wine for dinner. He made us feel relaxed, commenting we would not be rushed through our evening. My husband asked that I order for both of us. Knowing my husbands entree, I asked Ruskin about the "potato of the day". Good choice, so I recited to Ruskin our entrees and hubby asked, "Aren't you going to order wine and appetizer 1st?" I apologized to Ruskin and he said, "No worries, you can give me the entire order", and I did. And he memorized the entire order. I was very impressed! Everything was timed perfectly and prepared deliciously. We started with Calamari app and dinner was Fried Oysters and Trout. Our bottle of Malbec was re-corked and bagged, along with leftovers from our dinner plate. Our overall experience was above and beyond what we expected when we approached a sparse dining room at 7PM on a Thursday night. Ruskin presented us with a Frequent Dinner Club punch card & 15% off Friends and Family card. Are choice for dining in Biltmore Park will be Roux every time. I can only assume people do not want to dine in a Hotel restaurant, but please, for an excellent dining experience, choose Roux.
Was very pleased! Wasn't sure about a restaurant inside the hotel. The 1/2 chicken was super tender and nicely flavored. I tried the maple Tabasco collards and sweet potato salad, and enjoyed them both! For once, I didn't have to tweak any flavors. Didn't have to add salt or ask for any other additions. Great flavor!
Great cocktails, excellent entrees and desserts! We enjoyed our dinner very much.
We were a bit surprised the restaurant was practically empty, given it was a Saturday night. It didn’t, however, take long to discover why; the food was, at best average. We were both hungry but managed to eat only half our meal. Regarding the service: Our server must have been bored; he literally took over the conversation at our table. Given the above facts, unfortunately, Roux did not earn a “2nd trip” status for us.
We had a reservation for 1:30 on Sunday for their brunch. Upon arrival we found out the brunch ended at 1:30. The manager and staff kept the buffet open for us. Great level of customer service. Had a great meal.
Food was delicious and our server was very friendly, although could have been better about refilling waters. Definitely will be returning.
We ate the brunch buffet for Father's Day @ Roux. We enjoyed the selection of food and we ranked the food a 9 out of 10. The shrimp and grits were to die for. The roast beef was great. There quite a variety on the buffet. The chef at the omelet/pancake/waffle station was quick, friendly and the food he fixed for us was simply perfect. The pancake of the day was over the top good!
The staff on the phone when I made a reservation were very accommodating and attentive.
The manager came to check on us. He was a delight.
Our server was average. Although we were a large party I felt she did not earn a 20% tip and was not happy to serve us.
We will eat at Roux again. We would love to see what dinner tastes like.
We went for a Sunday brunch on Fathers Day. The variety of the food was great especially for the price. We particularly enjoyed the omelette and shrimp and Gris station. Our waitress was very friendly and gave helpful drink recommendations. Only complaint is the shrimp and grit station was not always manned. Would recommend and we will be back ourselves.
I was pleasantly surprised as a local that a hotel restaurant was this good. I really enjoyed the Buffet for Father's Day, it was also kid friendly too. Would have left 5 starts but It was a little odd when we got there and were told they were " Changing over to the Father's Day brunch" so we had to hang out of 15 minutes while they cleared tabled etc and there was no where for us to sit comfortably and it would have been nice to be offered coffee or a beverage while we waited. But overall a very good value for a beautiful brunch and friendly service.
The food was excellent! We didn't know it was in the lobby of the hotel so the ambiance isn't what it could be. I would recommend it again.

Good food, good service, and remarkably affordable. We did go for the oysters, and they were out. In future would call and check before going.

Service was friendly and generous. Our food was excellent. Quiet earlier in the evening and later got loud with two tables of 8+ who were having a lot of fun later on.
We attended their brunch on Easter. There were some discrepancies regarding cost and times from their website. The manager accommodated us and thanked us for pointing out the problem. Our server also helped us, was cheerful and professional. Every employee, from the hostess to omelet station cook, seemed happy to serve.
The salmon on the brunch bar was perfection! Crispy outside tender and juicy on the inside, with an amazing not-too-sweet glaze. Great shrimp & grits, and seared tuna Niçoise salad.
Although it was a hotel lobby brunch buffet, the setting was cozy, friendly, and quiet.
Highly recommend Roux when in Asheville!
