We love that FORC adjusts the menus to the seasons and that everything is always so fresh. Chef prepares each dish perfectly! The service is great and it’s so enjoyable to be in the bar area without too much noise - the patrons are always happy and enjoying themselves without any interruption to diners

Service was very good until time to clear our table after eating. It was a little bit slow on that side, but other than that good. I appreciate fresh flowers on the table but the water was so gross I asked the server to remove it as if it was not very appetizing to look at. Short ribs were excellent as was the house salad. Fresh Portuguese bread was the best I ever had. The only negative was the noise from the bar side of the restaurant

Driving up to Forc it has a very retro look. Books and covers. It is one of the best restaurants in Hawaii. An extraordinary dining experience. The staff greeted us as a new friend to be made. The bartender was imaginative and very creative creating something special for us. The goat tacos were good and am happy to recommend them though they are not for every one. The lamb chops were some of the best I have ever eaten. Wonderful blend of spices and perfectly cooked local lamb. A very generous portion as well. The steak made from local beef was excellent too. Almost everything on the menu was locally sourced. Nothing frozen here. The waitress was so on top of things that when someone spilled on their shirt she was there with club soda before they even knew it. The owner/chef came out and chatted with us covering so many topic as if we knew each other for years. He truly was interested in what we had to say. At $188 for two with drinks it was a bargain for quality. Most certainly a far better deal than eating at any hotel on the Big Island. The food was as good as any I have had in New York City or any major restaurant capital and better than most. I can't say enough good things about Forc. If food means something to you then go to Forc.

We live in Waimea and have eaten here many times before. It just keeps going down hill sadly. When I made the reservation for Mothers Day, I had no idea it was going to be a set menu with limited option and a hefty price for what we received. 3 of our party ordered the seafood hot pot. It was a very small portion of seafood with no bread, rice, crackers, etc. when asked for sure bread. They brought 3 small rolls and charged us $12! The music was loud and the genre def was not for dining, more like a nightclub sound. The service was rushed and chaotic and when our desserts arrived they were served on paper plates with disposable utensils! I couldn’t believe it!! A set menu at $75/person does not merit disposable utensils & plates. In addition, the bathrooms were not clean and the windows next to our table were very dirty. It’s sad to see this restaurant falter so badly. We decided this will be our last time… too bad, I really like the chef. He’s a great guy

The chef was kind enough to come visit our table. The Portuguese clams and the lettuce cups were the star of the show!

Allen Hess is the owner and an outstanding/tremendous chef, my wife asked if he would publish a book of his menus that are so unique, Asian fusion, but very specifically Hawaiian. We have been to his restaurant twice in the past couple of months, and both times he came out and spoke with us, which was truly appreciated.
