Join us at Fogo de Chão® San Antonio just steps above the famed Riverwalk and adjacent to the Rivercenter Marriott on Commerce Street. We bring our rich Southern Brazilian tradition of churrasco to the Alamo City.
Fogo de Chão is an authentic Brazilian Steakhouse (Churrascaria) that has been setting the standard in Brazil for the past 36 years. Today, our gaucho chefs still expertly grill and carve tableside each of our cuts of meat like Picanha (signature sirloin), Filet Mignon, Ribeye, Fraldinha (Brazilian sirloin) Cordeiro (lamb) and more. In addition to the main dishes, enjoy our gourmet Market Table, authentic Brazilian side dishes, and award-winning wine list. Guests can also choose to enjoy lighter seafood selections or enjoy the gourmet Market Table only option.
We also offer semiprivate and private areas that can accommodate parties up to 140.

The food was ok to good but not great. Flavor was lacking on many of the meats. The vegetables and sides were not great.

We are regulars at Fogo de Chao's Seattle and Portland locations, and we've never had anything but outstanding experiences at both of those locations. That made our experience last night at the San Antonio location both surprising and deeply disappointing. First, we were surprised at how ordinary the restaurant decor is. Not a problem, but no where even close to the warm, high-ambiance we've come to expect. Second, our initial server failed to take our drink orders and it took a long time to get anyone's help. Third, we were offered sirloin over nine times with little other variety offered. When we were asked what we were waiting for, we were told multiple times it was coming. About 30 minutes later it finally came around. This never would happen at our home locations. Fourth, we repeatedly ran out of the cheese rolls and had to wait a long time only to have a bowl of four brought for our party of four. Seriously?!? Are they being rationed? Also something we've never encountered before. Finally, when we finished eating and were ready for the check, it took forever to get anyone's attention (and we are not shy people). In short, our family of four felt like an afterthought throughout the evening in every regard when the main attention appeared to be on the larger groups of convention attendees. That never makes for a good dining experience, but it's especially galling when the bill is far north of $200. I suspect that catering to one-time visitors rather than repeat customers has negatively affected their service. Bottom line: Avoid this location.

All of the food was really good. The service once we were seated for dining was excellent, but the bar service was not great(sat there for quite a while without ever being asked what I would like).

Service was great, salad bar was delicious.... however, we sat for 30 minutes and only two guys came by the table with meat. They need more servers, it was so busy and we just could not enjoy the experience. Texas de Brazil and Cana Gaucha are worth the price. Once meat did start coming to table it was chicken legs and sausage. We had to ask for steak. Finally I asked a manager for my bill and to my amazement, steak was flooding to our table. By this time it was 45 minutes in to the meal. I lost my appetite because of frustration. Can’t beleive I wasted my Open Table rewards on that meal. They charged us for salad bar which was still $65ish for two people. Waste of a perfectly good gift card. Had the steak been amazing, I wouldn’t have posted this review but it was low grade meat for a dining experience that costs $45 plus per person!
