   Had a terrible experience for a birthday dinner. Had to wait over an hour to be seated for our reservation. Staff was overworked and the hostess was incredibly rude. Food was not worth the terrible experience we had to be put through.

   Not the best Fogo I’ve been to. Other locations have spoiled me with amazing service and selection, so the Portland location doesn’t measure up in comparison.

   With our reservation, we still waited more than 30 minutes to be seated. The waiting area is very tight at dinner near the bar. Our service was wonderful, probably the best we’d had there or any restaurant recently.

   Service seemed disorganized—we waited 45 minutes for a table even with a reservation and only saw our server twice. No menu was available (even a QR code would’ve been nice). Good value due to the all-you-can-eat aspect but a lot of the meat was lacking in flavor/moisture. Cool concept but don’t think we’d go again.

   Had reservations for 14 for a birthday dinner. I guess they overbooked so we had to stand outside in the cold for almost an hour just to get seated. Some of our guests couldn’t wait and had to leave. One of the ladies was very rude and combative when I walked up to the counter to check on the wait as it had been almost 45 minutes. When we finally got seated we were back in the corner. We only got to try 2 different cuts of steak, one sausage and one pork. We had to keep asking for them to come by with meat cause they never came back there. Really disappointing experience and crappy way to spend our friends 40th birthday. Doubt we will come back again.

   Very disappointed in the reservation process. We had reservations for 7:45 pm and had to wait an additional 40 minutes to get our table. The bar is so crowded we had no where to wait. We ended up going across the street to the Hilton and waited. Once I received the text our table was ready we waited an additional 15 minutes. Highly frustrating!

    Overheard another server that there were 15 cuts of meat on offer. We were seated near the back and were only brought about 5 of them. Also feels like a bit of a racket to have to go to the salad bar for a plate. Pretty much screams, “fill up on all this so we don’t lose money feeding you all the meat.” Several salad bar options were not replenished the whole time we were there. Insanely large groups of people waiting to be seated for their reservations. Basically, we were disappointed to see that all the bad reviews we had read were based in truth, which is a shame since the other Fogo de Chaos we’ve visited have been great.

    Had a reservation, only to wait an additional 45 minutes in an overcrowded foyer with lots of frustrated, hungry patrons. It seemed that reservations were just a place holder to wait 45+ min to be seated?? It was ridiculous, what does reservation mean to this restaurant?? The entry was so crowded they were asking guests to wait outside (dark and rainy) and there were kids the bar area. We were just about to leave when they called us back. Did not get a choice of a variety of meats, ended up having to specifically request certain types when our waitress came by. Restaurant seemed poorly managed, over crowded and chaotic. Key lime pie for dessert, which was grainy and terrible. It ended up being a very spendy and disappointing dinner. I was mortified that this was the special birthday plans I set up for our guests. On the plus side, the market buffet attendant was friendly and helpful, the one bright light of the experience. I would not recommend, and will not revisit, this restaurant.

    I had reservations at 6:45; was there for an hour and didn’t get called on while multiple groups got called before me, arriving after me. I even saw and witnessed a group get seated before me because they knew “Alex”. Last time I reserve or go to Fogo in Portland. Need better management.

    We’ve been to many Fogos across the US, and have been to this one several times. This visit was by far the worst! We flew up to Portland from San Francisco to celebrate my in-laws 50th anniversary. Our party of six arrived before our reservation time, and yet table wasn’t ready for 20+ mins AFTER our reservation time. The restaurant was very busy & crowded on a Sunday late afternoon, and with elderly in-laws, there was no place to sit & wait for way too long (this isn’t necessarily Fogo’s fault, but there was minimal sympathy in trying to accommodate them). When our party was eventual sat, it took our server over 10 mins to simply come and greet us. When we eventually made it to the food bar, about half the food was gone. No feijoada! No farófa! No peppered bacon, not to mention several missing salads and side dishes. The cheese breads didn’t make it to our table until we were almost done with dinner. Ridiculous! One of the Brazilian gauchos was very attentive and tried hard to help me (another Brazilian native). He brought us beans/feijoada, and although it was burnt, we appreciated the effort. He also had the kitchen prep fresh farófa for us. That was greatly appreciated as well. The majority of the meats were overcooked and lacked the traditional sea salt flavor, and our selection was limited to about 6-7 cuts. This is not Fogo standard! (The beef ribs were delicious, to be fair) For desert, they only had a few items available. My in-laws couldn’t order what they wanted - bummer! And why in the world Woolf Fogo discontinue serving pudim de leite? That is our Brazilian staple desert!!! I realize sometimes certain things are beyond our control, and having a few items missing is understandable, but this visit was unusual and unfortunate. No accommodations or adjustments were offered. We still paid a generous gratuity because most of the staff was still working very hard, but… management could’ve and should’ve done much better! Do better crew!

    Overall a good spot. I have sent a private message to Fogo about the experience, but we did have a less-than-desirable observation of the supervisor. The rest of the staff was top-notch and I would recommend Fogo for many different occasions.

    I hate to leave a bad review and typically would just stop patronizing a restaurant but this last ‘Experience’ did it for me and my guests. To start off, dinner reservation time was not honored (booked on Open Table). My party of 11 had to wait an additional half hour before getting seated. Our server was not on his business on taking care of our table needs. Staff continued to pass our table with meat selections but instead attended to all other tables around my party. We had to stop other servers to request meat service/selection for our table. What was the purpose of paying for the bells and whistles and not getting what was offered?? Never again Fogo of Portland as I was trying to give this location another chance to ‘WOW’ me with the Brazilian experience. I want to give kudos to the manager who apologized repeatedly for the mediocre service of his staff.

    Fogo never disappoints! The food is delicious and the portions are generous, and never-ending! Even vegetarian diners will enjoy the exotic vegetables on the Market Table. We had especially great service from Dell - he was attentive without hovering and he helped make suggestions about new items. We had a great experience!

    It’s a toss of a coin sadly if you’ll get a great experience or subpar experience with very little service and arguments from workers who don’t like being criticized on quality or service. I’ve dealt with 3+ hour wait times even With reservations and I’ve been served improperly prepared cocktails from this location more times then I can count… but when you combine it together it’s almost unbearable ….

    Had a 8:15 reservation and didn't get seated till around 9. Once seated server took our order and I didn't recieve my first drink till about 1 hour in, after we were done eating. The meat was excellent but the salad bar was pretty unsanitary. Tongs left in food, handles in. The ambiance was a bit trashy. This place probably fairs better on a weekday. The bar was over the top packed. Not sure if there was some event going on downtown.

    Reservation time was not honored and we were sat about 45 minutes late which totally threw off our plans for the rest of the evening. Service was great once we were sat. The salad bar left a lot to be desired. The section of meats was limited to beef, pork, and chicken. I was surprised that seafood was additional charge. Server was very friendly and attentive and alone made the experience better than average .

    Was awesome at the start, we were being taken care of especially as we had ordered the wagyu, however we waited almost an hour to be checked up on by our server and food was slowing down, she was helping a group of 15 but still we were waiting to order dessert and was handed the menu rather than the usual dessert option platter they bring out. Took another 30 minutes to actually get the order in, we planned on just heading out but I do love my dessert. Very unsatisfied with our experience towards the end.

    Our reservation was at 7:15pm. We got to sit at 8:40pm and ended up staying until after closing time. We had an 8 year old with us who was a first time diner there. Otherwise, we would have left.

    Our reservation was for 5pm and we didn't get seated until 5:50pm. It was just chaotic in there with tons of people waiting for 45-60 minutes past their reservation times. The food and service was good once we got seated, but it was very hard to get past the inefficiency of the seating process.

    It appears that this location has a shortage of staff. The last 3 times we’ve been here for dinner, regardless of the time and even though we had reservations way in advance, we still had to wait an extra 40mins to 1hour to be seated. They also had this weird sitting handoff situation going on this time where the hostess would seat you and stand over you next to your table until a waiter would come and take over. She said it was to ensure we received service, but it was the most uncomfortable and awkward situation I ever experienced at a restaurant in my life! Here we are finally seated after waiting 40mins in the lobby, then we have to endure someone watch over us weirdly and uncomfortably for an extra 5-10mins until a waiter attended to us. What the heck is that!!?! Not to mention when we arrived at the salad bar, half of the stuff were empty and it took 15-30mins to eventually refill those items. Also the meat selection and circulation was very sparsez. This will be the LAST time we are dinning at this location! I surely hope their other locations have no become as bad as this one.

    Seated a hour and a half after our reservation time… got to fianlly start eating the salad bar and 25 minutes into dinner we only got one meat choice and we kept repeatedly asking for more food and they kept ignoring us. Not the best experience I’ve had at fogo and left hungry and paying $65 for mainly salad bar food.

    Reservation was at 815pm and didn't get seated until 915pm. Obviously the restaurant needs to rework their reservation system. Granted it was Valentines day but still. An hour wait beyond reservation time says they over book to the extreme. And to top that off upon Checkin they were stating to everyone 10-15min to sit. Food was great. Way noisy and lots of traffic both customers and staff by our table. Hard to concentrate or have a conversation with others. Again this was Valentines Day. All in all would definitely go back but probably not on Valentines Day.

    This was by gar the worst experience we have had at Fogo, but this is not the first time as we noticed that the overall service has gotten bad, I am sad to say that despite considering my favorite restaurant for important occasions, that i will not be making any more reservations in the future. February 14 was horrible, it was surely overbooked as the entrance/lobby and bar area were overflowing of customers who were already waiting over 45min their reservation time, ours, at 4:30pm as we arrived at 4:15, the ambiance was hectic, unorganized and uncomfortable, people coming in and out, some times the door would stay open for ling periods where the freezing cold was unbearable. We got called to be seated at 5:15pm and were taken to a table next to the back door, really? We were already cold and had to be seated next another constantly open door, we were then seated to a smaller wobbling table after our request and things seemed ok after but the server came up, things like; we were giving no other options but to pay $7.5 for a bottle of water (This has always been complimentary on a jar) then no smashed potatoes nor plantains and when we ask for those, it took all the way to almost the end of our evening, I can also add the taste of the food and the not so good service, it was really disappointing.

    Food selection is amazing and appreciated the Manager Libor who is always attentive and helpful. Weekend noon time can be very busy with longer wait times
