It was recommended to go for the full experience. It had many choices they said, unfortunately we only received about 8 choices. The were mostly beyond delicious. At $60 a plate you should be approached with at least half of the menu stated items.
The food was amazing, I couldn't eat anymore and we ate all different kinds of meat. If you are going here make sure you get the full experience.
Overall the food was great, however, some of the cuts of meat (pork ribs for instance) were very salty during our visit. The service was excellent, very friendly and helpful staff! We will be back again.
The food was outstanding as usual! The atmosphere and service made you feel welcome. Even though the restaurant was very busy, the staff made you feel like your table was their #1 priority.
We will be back!!!
The restaurant on Saturday is incredibly busy. Our reservation was at 5:45pm and the restaurant was packed. We waited 15 mins for our table to be available once our entire party arrived. They will not seat you until everyone is in the restaurant. We ordered their $39 special that eliminates several meat options including Filet Mignon, NY Strip, Beef Ribs, Lamb Chops, and rib eye cuts.
The restaurant was noisy but again packed to the gills. The salad bar is spectacular. The cuts of meat available for the special were ok. You won't go hungry but many slices were full of fat and gristle that you need to trim away. The pork loin is delicious. Most cuts are medium to medium rare. They bring out shrimp cocktails but do not mention they are extra at $21. So ask questions. The Key Lime pie was excellent.
Would definitely go again and order the regular meal.
Great food and service. It was spendy but over all worth the money.
The food was outstanding. I have been to this style brazilian restaurant from the cape to the west and in between and several in Brazil and this was the best, hands down! If you are in Portland even for just a night don't miss it. Muito obrigado!
It's a noisy space with a lot of movement. Servers are polite and bring by meat in rapid succession. It's good for folks who like "all you can eat" spots. IT IS DEFINITLEY A FOOD FEST. There were a number of large groups celebrating things , so it's clearly a good spot for that. For a couple wanting a fine dining experience in a more subdued environment, this wouldn't be my first choice.
Extremely overcrowded. Table wasn’t ready until 20+ min past reservation time. Market table was plundered, with several “hot items” not replenished the entire time we were there. Our server was MIA. They were out of the cheesy rolls that we love, and they finally showed up after we closed out our bill and were standing up to leave. Tried for 10 min just to find someone to give us our check.
Wonderful food and service. Felt the price was good for what you get. We shoes up early and got seated right away. Was pretty quiet at 330 on a Saturday, but got busy shortly after. Even when it was busy, the food kept coming. We will go back again for sure!!
We had a wonderful time! So glad we had the opportunity to get away for a date night . We will be back.
Both me and my significant other winded up sick after dining here which was really unfortunate. We could hardly hear the servers running the meat to the table.
This was my second time here, eating with my son, and my fiancee's and daughters first time. Everyone loved it and the only downside was that we were charged for a Jumbo Shrimp cocktail that we did not order. Everything else was excellent, the servers, the mgmt, the food.
My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner very much. The service was kind and friendly but professional. The food was outstanding. And even though it was a big restaurant it wasn't loud and still had a intimate feeling. We would highly recommend.
Great restaurant with good food. A wonderful experience overall
Better than last time
I have visited your location about about a dozen times and yesterday unfortunately during lunch saw an insect on my plate. I recognize sometimes these things happen and decided not to mention anything to the staff since I was with a guest who was visiting Fogo's for the first time.
The food and service by the waiters and food slicers was great, but the two hostesses at the front desk were completely untrained and unskilled in every way. We were not greeted when we arrived. I had to go and find the hostess after waiting at the front door; she was setting tables down the stairs and couldn't see us waiting upstairs. Curiously, there was a family of 5 ahead of us. They too were waiting to check in. This set a bad tone as we entered the building. I am not sure if they were short staffed or if they were just not trained. Also, it was particularly cold on January 12 when we arrived at 6:30 pm and the two doors to enter the building were broken and didn't close properly. This added to our frustration as the bitter cold wind poured though the doors which were not properly closing. Throughout supper we could feel the shriveling chill of the wind as it gushed through the doors as patrons entered and exited the building. This is a great restaurant with great food, but I was disappointed with these two areas of their hospitality.
Amazing service made the experience! After our rude greeting from the host and hostess (Young lady who seated us), we were introduced to Robert. Wow! He was WONDERFUL, FRIENDLY, GRACIOUS, EXCELLENT!!! The meal was really good. All kinds of meat were well prepared. My favorite were the lamb chops. Delicious! The market table had a variety of fresh, marinated, and cured foods. Cocktails were balanced and tasty. Unfortunately it’s so darn expensive that we need a super special occasion to return.
Fantastic experience as always! Everyone is friendly and I appreciate the staff diversity
I told the server that I was there to try the $39 special for fogo month but they charged me the full $60 anyway. Not a huge deal but there also wasn't very many meats available like there was before
Nice evening....consistently good...not over the top but very good.
Delicious food and great service
they were 30 mins late seating us, which on a school
night, matters. almost every cut of meat we tried was overcooked, even when we asked for medium rare, or rare cuts. tough, chewy, bland, and not remotely close to the quality i remember from
the many Fogo locations i’ve visited over the last 10+ years. after a while, we couldn’t get a server to make eye contact with us, so it wasn’t until we were over it and wanted to leave, that we got to try more than the 4 same meats they’d brought to us over and over. for almost 400$, (3 adults and 2 kids) with no booze, we left feeling a bit played.
It was horrible. We got seated 45 minutes past our reservations, we got a drink with broken glass, I couldn’t get back and forth to the buffet, the buffet was a mess, the water glasses stunk and it went on and on. So no disappointed.
Eso fue una experiencia increíble. Lo puedo recomendar a todos. Las carnes tienen sabores muy ricos. Espero que pueda volver pronto.
We had planned to celebrate my son’s birthday.
The restaurant felt understaffed, and the hostess had us wait in the doorway for 20 mins as she struggled to seat dinners. She was rude and basically soured our evening.
I celebrate my anniversary here every year for 9 years now. It seems that things have changed over the years and service is not the same.
Very good food, and fast service. The cuts of meat were all delicious, and in my opinion, I enjoyed it more than a traditional steak house. The salad bar was full of fresh meats, cheeses, and veggies too!
It was great it just seems there’s such an excessive number of employees walking around, and they don’t yield to customers. I feel like when I get up from my seat I’m jumping into a full speed highway. I appreciate the quick attention to bringing the various meat selections and checking on how we’re doing but maybe can at least remind staff to not plow us down when we’re up to the salad bar or restroom.
Plates were dirty.
Friendly staff, and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of delicious meat.
If you order the full experience - and I recommend it - be careful not to fill up on the chicken.
The salad bar is amazing, and if you want a less expensive meal, ordering the salad bar only will still leave you satisfied.
The food was good but the service was well below the Fogo standard we have seen in other cities. The restaurant was packed and the wait staff seemed absolutely overwhelmed. We got mashed potatoes before the salad bar, didn’t get any service regarding a second drink or other dishes we ordered ( like more bananas just never came). Ordered coffee with sugar. Sugar never cam. Etc.
the meats were delicious, but, again, the servers were very slow in coming. We were leaving when the first chicken legs showed up. Lamb chops never arrived. Timing just seemed to be off with the restaurant being so very busy.
Pretty disappointing for the price we paid.
Service was not as good as the last time we were there. The waitress was confused about how to handle our large party and the hostess came in to help out but was also unprepared to take drink orders. We didn’t get our side dishes until we were almost done with dinner.
Our server did a great job for such a large party. Exceeded our expectations and made sure all our needs were met. Outstanding
They used to have a really good salad bar. I think they cut way back on their choices. I would rather pay more and have better choices.
Holiday dinner with family
So for a place that is super corporate one, this spot could use some back to basics customer service classes.
Our check in was a bit chaotic and it was a chore getting an accurate estimate on seating. After a 55 tab at the bar for 3 waiting for us to be called, we were seated.
Not very good follow up on allergies or wine list, but eventually we got what we needed.
The food itself was good, the buffet well presented and assumed per corporate specifications. There’s a lot of a la carte offerings IE mixed libations and various gnoshes that are peddled through the dinning hall, but it’s very hit and miss, and we were missed for the vast majority of them in our 2+ hours at our table.
I truly wish the carne courses would be a little more diverse. No chicken hearts? It’s not a Churrasco w/o chicken heart or picanha. The lamb and New York stood out, as well as the salted loin. However the rub or spicing to all the meats seemed very assembly line and not very dynamic.
Where in the world has customer service gone? I’m not picking on this place specifically but for a Benjamin per person I expect a little good ol’ fashioned follow up. That portion of our experience lacked the most.
The deserts were tasty and well portioned for
Sharing, but the touches like coffee beans in the Sambuca or fresh settings were somewhat disappointing.
Overall it’s a fun place that I’d recommend on an off night when you’re more likely for a better bang for the buck.
Best meals ever
