I frequent Fogo, especially this location in the J.W, Marriott. I find that the quality of the food has gone down. There are some cuts that are better than others, but in my normal experience with this restaurant, it’s usually inconsistency. Last night was a good example. They brought out the garlic steak. Unfortunately, the steak was very, very tough and overcooked. I also found that there was a lot more fat on some of the cuts. Another example was on the bottom roast. As they were cutting it off the spit, although I like some of my meat, rare, this particular time was to the extreme. It was practically mooing as they were slicing it down. In talking about the customer service, when the hostess sent me and my other guest down at the table, it was a good six or seven minutes before anyone came back. Since we normally get the entire experience when we go, I told my guest to just get up and go to the salad bar And then come back. By the time my guest had come back, our waitress or waiter still never arrived to our table. Ivan got up to go get my salad. When I returned, still, no one came to our table yet. At this point, I was already out of water. I had to flag down the hostess seating another set of guests at their table close by to flag down our waitress. All in all, this experience was not the greatest. When the cost for one person for this experience, which is gone up considerably, now at $62 per person, I felt like the food should’ve been much better than what it was last night. One of the items that they will bring around to the tables is the cheese and honey. Unless this was being rationed off, we saw the cheese come around only once. When we mentioned to the manager, if we could possibly get some, we will already going to pay our bill. He did say that he could bring some to us, but we declined as we were ready to go..

Had our 20th anniversary breakfast here. Gary was exceptional and the food was fabulous. The beignets were far better than Cafe Beignet and Cafe Du Monde. Must try for breakfast.

Johnathan and Joseph were very attentive, polite, and knowledgeable. The meats were flavorful but slightly overcooked but still very good and flavorful. One of the food runners was a little rude at our table. Didn’t get his name but he presented “cheese and honey” to us and at first I declined but quickly changed my mind. Which resulted in him rolling his eyes and plopping it on my plate and spilling honey on my table (obviously showing attitude). To which I still said “thank you!” And he rolled his eyes again and walked away. Don’t know what that was about. But my servers were so good I still was able to leave happy. Thank you Joseph and Johnathan!

I went for the Tomahawk & Tequila tasting. The featured cocktails were amazing!!! The Paper Flame and the Tequila Old Fashioned. The food tasting left a lot to be desired. While we did enjoy the candied bacon, beef and olive crostinis, and the deviled egg. The chicken slider and the fried cheese with honey were served hot and fresh. The actual tomahawk was served ice cold. I could hear the server in another section telling his guests they were going to come out medium. Our pieces came out rare to very rare, which was inedible for my companion. Just a suggestion, since your business model is presenting the meats and slicing it table side, the Tomahawk should have been presented in some fashion instead of brought out cold on a small bread plate with ice cold chimichurri. The empanada was good. Two notes on service, 1, it was very slow. Even if we wanted to increase our bill by ordering more drinks we had a tough time ordering more. 2, please, please, please tell the servers to NOT EVER touch the mouth of the water pitcher to a guests water glass for a refill!!! Oh, I was also served a chipped glass for my 2 drinks. I meant to point it out to the server, but was tired and wanted to leave after being there for 1 hour and 50 minutes. I’ll visit again as I know this experience wasn’t typical.

The food was terrible. We’ve been to many Fogo de Chaos and was happy to see one in New Orleans. The meats were terrible. Lots of fat. LOTS! The chicken and lamb were very good but the sirloin, filet mignon, and other beef’s were horrible.

They were not expecting us, even though we had a reservation, so we had to wait until they got a table ready for 5. The waiter approached telling us that they were short handed and he apologized. Everything was incredibly slow. Drink refills, meat service, waitstaff, etc. We actually got tired of waiting and went and got clean salad plates and grabbed a red & green card from a dirty table and used it as our own to start the meat service. The place smelled bad like a dirty bar when we walked in. We asked for chimichurri sauce and hot sauce but it didn’t arrive until we had finished eating. We asked for more breadand mashed potatoes, but they were out. The iced tea machine was broken so no iced tea. Other empty handed waitstaff rudely brushed me as I stood up from my table instead of letting me, the customer. walk by. To top it all off, 2 of the 5 of us got sick with stomach issues within an hour. I love Fogo in Houston, but the New Orleans location should just cut their losses and permanently shut the doors. This place should have paid us to eat there. Total disappointment and waste of time and money. Just go ahead and shut this horrible excuse for a restaurant down! Horrible!

I didn’t receive the $49.99 dinner as expected, the total paid was worth the experience. I look forward to returning, and I’ve even researched locations in other cities.
