This was for my daughter’s 21st birthday...party of 7.
I have visited a number of Fogo de Chão restaurants around the world...including São Paulo, Lisbon, Dallas, and this one in Kansas City. All previous experiences were fantastic.
However, on this particular visit (10 Apr 2021 in Kansas City), I was very disappointed.
Food was great, but frequency of table servers was very low and sporadic...sometimes up to 15 minutes between visits. My wife and I both politely noted our disappointment to our waiter. It did improve briefly, but was not sustained.
We spent a fair amount on this visit ($600), while the experience was far below our expectations.
We have always enjoyed this restaurant, but based upon this experience, we do not intend to go back...nor will we recommend this restaurant to others.

No muy buena
The different meats didn’t come as frequently as we expected. We were offered the same meat multiple times.
I was pretty disappointed to make a reservation and have to wait 45 minutes still...sort of defeats the purpose of the reservation. So by the time we sat down it was 8:30...the food bar had a lot gone and wasn't replacing very fast. We never got any of the cheese biscuit things. Took a long time to get our check. Just pretty expensive to eat to have all of that happen that way.
We understand your disappointment, as you shouldn't be made to wait so long, especially with a reservation. We'd love to serve you everything you crave, so please visit us again.
Staff was wonderful
Very nice place ! Food is AMAZING
Reservations mean nothing here. You'll still wait an hour on a table. Then, unless you're a total Karen and demand so to the wait staff, you'll never see the good cuts of beef. Expect to see chicken, pork and sausage repeatedly, though. Just go to a decent steakhouse.
I took my girl here for her birthday, it's her favorite place to eat. The food was outstanding! The staff very friendly. Restaurant was clean. Your staff made her birthday very special with the Confetti on the table. Thank you we will be back in the future.
My first time after covid, salad bar there's a lady who gives you gloves to wear that way no one is touching the utensils with their bare hands, the food was amazing, the only thing I missed was the apple and chicken salad which was my favorite, other than that the food was amazing, I'd highly recommend it.
Great and delicious experience
Made reservation well in advance of arrival time. We were at least 30 minutes past our reservation time when seated. Food was average and not of value vs money paid. Ambiance was above average. You are paying more for the experience of a Brazilian steakhouse than you are for food quality.
We can assure you, our meals are prepared with high-quality ingredients, so it's concerning to hear you feel otherwise. Please don't allow this one visit to keep you from awarding us another chance.
The food was excellent as always. I did order a drink from the bar when we sat down and it did not arrive until dessert. They were really busy but it would have been nice to have the drink with dinner.
Took forever for our sides. Only 4 meats were offered. Mash potatoes were cold and looked terrible. I'm a big fan of your restaurant but service and good standards have clearly dropped.
You should be offered our variety of cuts, so it's disappointing to hear we missed the mark. Please know, we appreciate the feedback, and we hope you don't allow this to keep you from visiting us again.

Bill was $180 with tip for 2 people. Not worth the money. Not even close.

It was just ok. The service was amazing, but the meats left something to be desired. Most were very bland. A couple were excellent, but especially considering the pricing, I expected more.

We had reservations and weren’t seated until an hour after our scheduled time. When we were seated, they were out of several meats, the cheese bread, and a few desserts. We were waiting for a long time before a server reached our table and then she forgot to bring us plates for the meat. One of the meat servers actually just snagged us plates from the salad bar in the end. The other Fogo locations I have been to are always beautifully decorated and there was none of that. We were freezing at a table next to the window - wearing winter jackets - and wishing we went anywhere else for dinner. Don’t waste your money.

Went there for my Birthday and Valentine’s Day! Will not do that again! I booked it almost a month in advance! Had to wait for almost an hour after having reservations. When I made the reservation, I asked for a quite spot. Instead they put us right next to the buffet area! Very annoyed! Prime rib tasted like sirloin!

Our reservation was at 6:00 but didn’t get seated till 7:00. They were running an hour behind and people were crowded in the lobby and bar area. No social distancing could happen. The service was good & drinks were great. Experience might have been better if it wasn’t a busy weekend.

I understand it was Valentine’s but just having to wait a hr past the reservation was surprising. Food and service was great. I did feel I was rushed a bit out as the gauchos stopped coming to my table after awhile. I did appreciate the teamwork and cleaning of my table. Will definitely return. Maybe on a slower day
The overall expert was good, I only marked down for having a reservation for 5:45 pm and we didn’t get seated til 6:50pm. When we were seated the food was good but towards the middle the steaks and meat guys started skipping us. We put in a request for lamb twice and never got it. The waiter we had misheard our order on dessert and didn’t really feel the need to correct it. We were mainly served by other people other than our waiter. I would go again if I had a better experience . But I did like that they were making sure everyone had gloves to go to the salad bar.
made reservation weeks ago, still had to wait an hour, in a pandemic they had no social distancing and clearly over booked reservations. Once seated an hour after the initial reservation time. Had to ask for meat service 3 times, meat was over cooked and dried out, sides took forever, and never got seconds when asked for them. No distance between any tables at all, very disappointed, was our first, and LAST time, dont' waste your money!!

While the food was good, the service was pretty bad. It was Valentine’s Day so we didn’t complain, have a bad attitude, or anything. We understood it was busy, but we sat there numerous times throughout the meal waiting for meat, to order dessert, and for the ticket for extended periods of time. One period was for twenty minutes waiting for either a server or the meats. No one. Considering the manager was walking around talking to tables that seemingly ordered alcohol, it was a pretty bad experience. He looked at my wife once and immediately proceeded to avoid us the rest of the time. One server tried her best to make sure we were tended to, but the experience from everyone else was lackluster at best. It’s no wonder Porto Du Sol opened up, but unfortunately has closed. Pretty sure we won’t be back for the service alone.

Great valentine's day
The service from our waitress was lacking. I understand it was a very busy pre-Valentine’s day (Saturday) afternoon. Our waitress checked on us a couple of times and got my drink incorrect albeit it was good but it wasn’t a pineapple mojito. The food was excellent and the general manager was gracious enough to rectify the incorrect drink. We always have a fabulous time and will return.
Did not enjoy service. Was not friendly, rude, and short while communicating.
We apologize for such an experience, as our team should always be delivering friendly and kind service. We hope you stop by in the future, as we are sure we can earn your satisfaction.
1. The meats offered was of low quality for the price. $160 meal for TWO people. I never received the wine I ordered and was probably charged for it, the waitress coming around once for drinks, forgetting one, and taking a very long time for one beer ordered. Couldn’t remember what beer it was...
2. Some of the meat was so rare multiple tables were complaining. A piece of chicken was so rare on the middle a staff member came out at on point and said “yes sorry, I was trying to catch the server before they got out of the kitchen”.
3. They were offering a $25 gift card for specific dates on 2-12-21 to 2-14-21, never received that.
4. Made reservations at 7, didn’t sit down until 745-8.
5. For being on the plaza, this restaurant is so hyped up and it’s really not worth it. If you know good meat, you will know the quality here is low. If not, you’ll probably think it’s great.

Service was extremely slow for drinks, a main steak and just in general. Would not say social distancing or limited table seating was in place. Food was good overall but far too unorganized for the price and experience.

I wasn’t that impressed for the $$. We were celebrating an anniversary and decided to splurge. We were so cold and told a server and she offered for us to move our table over a foot or two but not to change tables. They did bring us a free dessert for our anniversary and the food was good but not out of this world good. The food bar had some very nice salads. They delayed seemed like forever to bring us our bill and we felt sort of ignored by the servers. The people bringing meat by our table were timely and consistent, but the level of service wasn’t there for anyone else.

I typically visit this Fogo location when I visit Kansas City. This visit was a very good experience, the staff did a good job with social distancing and providing great food service. I highly recommend this Fogo location if you enjoy steak, salad and the Brazilian Steakhouse experience.
My fiancé and I visited this restaurant to celebrate his birthday. The staff was helpful however our main waiter seemed to be more engaged with the group next to us that spoke his same primary language. On to the food, while this is not the first Brazilian steakhouse I’ve been to this is the first where I did not enjoy the food at all. Each time something else came around I’d say to myself I’ll give it another try but still got the same results. The meats were dry and not flavorful at all. I though it was just me so I asked my fiancé and had the same thought but wasn’t goin to say anything. So then we see the table that our waiter is very engaged with receive a dessert that says happy birthday. We got nothing, I would have even paid for it given I explained when I reserved we were celebrating a birthday. Anywho this was not the best experience and definitely not worth my $150.

The meats came to the table very quickly... we were almost done with the meats by the time the potatoes and rolls arrived. We waited a good 20 mins after eating to get our check. The server was very nice, but extremely overwhelmed and didn’t get much help
