Foghorn Brewery was born of a dream to make craft beer the way it ought to be made—from grain to glass all under one roof.

The historic building in King Street had been abandoned for several years when we first set foot inside. In that dusty old warehouse, we saw the potential to create something really special.

And so it was that Newcastle’s first modern craft brewery opened its doors in April 2015. The town’s industrial roots have played a big part in shaping the unique character of Foghorn Brewery. Built from the ground up, this art deco era warehouse with exposed roof trusses now houses a custom 1800 litre brewery.

Join our staff as they explain the process from grain to glass. You’ll learn more about the beer you drink and enjoy a sample of one of FogHorn’s finest brews at the end of the tour. Tour duration approx. 30min - a separate table booking is required if you wish to join us for lunch before or after the tour. For private group tours (10 people or more), please submit an enquiry via the website.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food was tasty with ample serving sizes. The staff were friendly, courteous, and efficient. The selection of in-house-brewed beers was excellent and very varied. The musical performance by Love That Hat was outstanding and fun.

This music event was held in conjunction with Newcastle Food Month. Everything was great except the main course, dry chicken, a tiny bit of broccolini and (good) potatoes.

We booked for a 15th bday - the food was impeccable ( including delicious GF safe pizza ) despite how busy they were the Team were relaxed, friendly and had everything under control. Foghorn is the kind of place that is consistently awesome.

Event nights rock at Foghorn! Themed nights are always great, and the latest, celebrating 10 years of Foghorn, exceeded my expectations. Foghorn's experience was showcased with sensational beer and wine pairings, matched with incredible cheeses, a delightful main and a wonderful dessert. Better yet was the passion and knowledge on full display with short chats from the brewery (Shawn), winery (Greg), cheese judge (Sonia) and purveyor of all things sweet (Reese@CakeBoi) If the opportunity to attend one of these nights crosses your path - jump on it!

I was quite surprised that the bar had no Shiraz and no Cab Sav. Really????? It was a pre-arranged event with over 100 people attending. Maybe they should have visited Dan Murphy’s to get some supplies. The best option was a 2023 Merlot.
