Welcome to Floris at VMFA!
Our high tea menu and tea service is offered daily from 11:30 am - 2:30pm priced at $45 per guest, not inclusive of tax and service. We kindly require each guest's participation. After 2:30pm we offer our a la carte menu for more casual fare.
Floris invites you to immerse yourself in a culturally enriching tearoom experience at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Robins Sculpture Garden, Floris is a community gathering space located in VMFA’s Pauley Center.
Take a mid-day escape and indulge in delightful pleasures for the palate, including expertly crafted blends from guest tea makers. Chef Chainey Kuykendall’s use of fresh ingredients from local vendors and importers further enhances Floris’s celebration of cultures and community.

    Beautiful experience. No "store bought" pastries. Excellent pairings for savory and sweet. Tea was the perfect temperature. Would highly recommend!

    Our first visit to Floris was on Christmas Day, and it was perfect! Our second visit was on Easter, and it was even more perfect! Not sure where we go from here... It's such a delightful way to spend a special afternoon with loved ones. The teas are fantastic, accompanied by champagne or Cava, of course. The Savories and Sweets appear to be "small bites," but somehow we were completely full both times. The only suggestion is that we really missed having 1 or 2 little tea sandwiches included as they were the first time. Missed those a lot! We will definitely be back for this special experience.

    The presentation was spectacular! Such a beautiful arrangement. The food was a wonderful blend of savory and sweet with creative and delicious combinations. The service is attentive, but not smothering. It’s a favorite place for a special occasion.

    Floris tea room is a nice change of pace with a fixed price menu & plenty of food. Great service from Ellie. Only distraction was constructed noise down the hall.

    Innovative tea selections - the savory shrimp in coconut milk, & the pineapple with muscavado sugar were particularly good. Emma was very informative and solicitous. Thank you for a lovely experience.

    Pleasantly surprised with the tea fare. Lovely and well appointed tea -room. Great service and good value for the amount of food we got. Bread basket starter was just ok; carrot loaf bread was tasty but the scone was not good. Tiny and not tasty at all- disappointing. The full tea meal was a good amount of food, but some were better than others. I would ditch the shrimp salad and add some sandwiches; I really missed not having some tea sandwiches. All in all we were very full at the end of the tea. The actual tea offerings were good and a nice variety.

    This was my first visit to Floris, and it was such a pleasure to find a really lovely tea experience. Tea is such a special experience, and many hotels that once served one have ceased. The variety of teas was outstanding, the desserts (and tea is mainly a dessert extravaganza) were excellent, and the surroundings are beautiful.
