Floripa is the nickname of a Balearic style city-island off the coast of Brazil, the short form of the beautiful and unique flower of Ipanema and a brand new venue in Shoreditch where Brazil and London come together in a hedonistic bohemian cultural fusion.

Our aim is to take the classic elements of Brazilian cuisine and remix them, take the best of London"s incredible Music scene and recook it and take a South American beach bar and re-present cocktails sipped on the cabana's of Ipanema and Florioponalis.

Floripa is from 50's South Americana – the bossa beach vibe to 21st Century London's Babel like Hub of the World.

Floripa mixes all conviviality's – we are a Brazilian influenced restaurant, a bar for the globe, a London bloc party club, an Ipanema inspired colonial bordello, an idyllic sunset circus and indeed none of the above.

I booked floripa for my birthday night out with friends and no one bothered to tell me it was shut "due to unforeseen circumstances" I think this is completely unacceptable!!!

Terrible ! It was close without any Notice to me who had a reservation with friends for a Xmas dinner. Embarrassing and disappointing behaviour From the companies involved.

I booked a table for 10 for Friday night for birthday celebrations...I like quiet places but this was too quiet! So much so that there was no staff, no lights on and the doors were locked! Apparently no one told open table it had closed down!🙈

Unfortunately, despite having booked a table, on arrival Friday night the restaurant was closed with no explanation although the bar across the road said Floripa had been open the night before. I received no email beforehand advising not to come and, as this was a special occasion, had to quickly find another venue for dinner. Not impressed!

I went to Floripa for a friend's birthday dinner. It was just the 3 of us and they only had a 21:00 table left, so we planned for a late dinner followed by drinks, because I remember the Floripa bar being quite vibrant. I was hugely appalled with the service and will not be going back unless it is for a quick and early drink. We arrived at 21:05 and ordered a few cocktails and some starters. We finished these at 21:25, asked to order our mains and were told that the kitchen was closed, or rather, that all the cooks had already left...? There was no prior warning of the kitchen closing and we were told very rudely. So we stayed for a while, chatted, etc. At 21:50 we tried to get attention to order another round of cocktails - someone came over 5 minutes later and told us that the table service was over, and that if we wanted drinks we'd have to get up and order at the bar. So we rushed to the bar at 21:57 because the menu stated that last order for drinks was at 10pm (no idea why they call themselves a bar - it was a Friday night!), and were told that no more drinks were being served except for a Mojito and a couple of Floripa special cocktails... there were 4 bartenders doing absolutely nothing and not one would order the cocktails we wanted. Between the kitchen closing, the staff being unbothered to place an order at the table and the bar closing, we ultimately had a really bad time and I feel terrible for my friend. If you would still like to go, I recommend going for an early dinner on a weekday - that might be nice!

I MADE A BOOKING ON SATURDAY 24TH TO HAVE DINNER ON SUNDAY 25TH AND WHEN I WAS COMING TO THE RESTAURANT NEXT DAY IT WAS CLOSED. I CALLED THEM AND THEY TOLD ME THEY DONT OPEN ON SUNDAYS, ONLY FOR PRIVATE EVENT. SO MY QUESTION IS, WHY OPEN TABLE LET ME BOOK AT THAT TIME? SO IT WOULD BE YOUR FAULT AND I HOPE I HAVENT BEEN CHARGED FOR THAT BECAUSE YOU ASKED ME FOR MY CREDIT CARD DETAILS. YOU SHOULD BE MORE EFFICIENT.

The place smelt very bad as soon as we walked in (toilets downstairs) and the bill took ages to sort out. We left quite quickly after one drink. I was told the cocktails were alright however.

We arrived but the restaurant did not have our booking. We were offered a table right in front of the busy bar - not ideal for dinner. So we left.
