Under the culinary direction of Chef Somoza, Flora’s menu captures the spirit of Mediterranean seaside towns from Saint Tropez to Capri to Marbella, spotlighting the bountiful seafood and vibrant produce that are hallmarks of coastal cuisine. With a passion for fresh ingredients rooted in his childhood in the Spanish countryside, picking wild blackberries and foraging mushrooms and wild asparagus, Chef Somoza is drawn to local, farm-to-table cooking.

The Flora menu is made up of regional ingredients such as sweet corn, seasonal vegetables and fruits, local seafood and small farm sourced meats, and is anchored by a crudo bar and fish main courses including Dover Sole, Bank Scallops, pan seared halibut. A skilled pastry chef and boulanger, Somoza is also putting an emphasis on quality breads and an impressive offering of house-made pastries and ice cream, and the most delicious creme brulee.

My diner was outstanding. I had a Shrimp Cocktail which consisted of three enormous shrimp with two sauces. For my main dish I ordered scallops which was also beyond expectations. Service was OK, nothing special. The noise level was way too much. Very stuffy atmosphere.

We are regulars here. The menu is very original and unique with a touch of Spanish flair to everything. We love their attractive cocktails. We always get their fish special and the flattened steak. We tried the sticky toffee cake and the raspberry crème brûlée for dessert. We usually sit inside but the outside bar is fantastic. No one gets a bad view of the harbor.

Amazing! Service and food were both great. Seriously the best scallops I’ve had all year. The rhubarb ice cream is next level.

Excellent as always food and service exceptional. Rooftop dining is just beautiful. Tyson served his amazing Gatsby cocktail our favorite. Kevin was a great server. Highly recommend definitely Newports “Best” spot.

Cocktails on the terrace overlooking the harbor was delightful, as was the bar staff who we engaged in conversation. The deck will be even better when they get an awning, as in the hot summer, the west facing deck gets very sunny and hot! The dining room was beautifully decorated and it also overlooks the harbor. I found the tables a tiny bit too close, so it was hard to not overhear the diners seated next to you, and hard to have a nice discussion with your table mate. The food was superb in taste and in presentation! It is, however, a little pricey, but is probably in keeping with restaurants of its caliber in Newport in the summer. Overall ,a delightful dining experience with delicious food and wonderful waitstaff for a special night out.!

Excellent experience at Flora, it was a double birthday celebration and it was everything expected. My salad was exceptional, as was my entree, and the drinks and dessert were fabulous as well. The service was also excellent. It is a beautiful spot.

The seafood was out of this world! We absolutely loved the scallops and halibut. Restaurant was also beautiful with spectacular views!
