Hidden in hotel wasn't sure we had the right place and then the correct door.. This restaurant gives the hotel breakfast buffet vibe. Food was ok, nothing special for a drive from Durham. Thought with the name flask and Beaker they may have had a special drink menu ...nope.
The shrimp n grits were good as was the spinach artichoke dip. Steak was ok. With all the restaurant choices there are, I can't say I would go back.
Understaffed for Mother’s Day and service was slow
Food is just okay, billed as a restaurant and really isn’t. Just an open space in the hotel. Fine overall but not somewhere to go unless you’re staying at the hotel and looking for something convenient.
Staff is very friendly and attentive but the full package didn’t meet my expectations when trying to pass for a stand-alone restaurant.
Really enjoyed the experience, will eat there again.

During our recent visit, we found nothing particularly poor, nor anything particularly outstanding. Being a rainy January evening, seating was inside. From the garage doors that we assume open to the patio in good weather, I think the allure of this hotel restaurant is the outdoor environment.
Service was a bit slow: not a lot of tables and not a lot of staff. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Fairly limited menu: couple salads, couple burgers/sandwiches, couple entrees. Our order was prepared well but nothing extraordinary. Our shared dessert of bread pudding had a muffin texture - good but definitely a different presentation.
For me, I thought the menu options seemed limited. I believe 8 menu options and most were fish base. Only 1 each of steak, chicken, pasta option, pasta dish option.
We were not guests at the hotel but decided to check it out. The pictures online looked like it was a nice place. The restaurant itself was fairly empty except for on other table. We were looking for a quiet type atmosphere. Unfortunately the other table was a young couple with a baby and toddler. Upon entering the toddler was running around the restaurant and ended up at the serving line ; while the baby was screaming. The server very kindly moved us to the library. The atmosphere there was cozy and the kind lady that served us was wonderful. The food was average and felt very hotel like. Probably a one and done but the service was very good.
This restaurant is in a hotel but even though we weren’t staying there, our service was no different. Food was delicious, view of the lake with the fall trees was pretty, service (even though they were busy) was great!!!
Food was good, service was fair. Don’t expect any bread with dinner. If you ask for any, they will charge you extra!

Flask and Beaker is a hidden gem tucked away on Centennial Campus. The hotel itself is modern and inviting and the restaurant has an open kitchen and a view of Lake Raleigh. Service is always attentive and the food is reliably delicious.

Went for Mother’s Day with the family. I had located the restaurant in an online search and the location was as expected however, when we arrived we were told there was only a prix fixe buffet available rather than the regular menu which was not indicated anywhere on the website. We had reservations at 1:00 pm and the brunch had started at 10:30 am so by the time we were selecting food, a lot of the dishes were dried out or room temperature (even though brunch was listed till 3:00 pm). There was a custom omelette bar and a meat carving station which were very good. The deserts were also yummy. I had hoped that the drink options would have been more varied given that they had touted the mixology nature of the bar, but these too were subpar.
The staff were generally friendly and the ambience was really nice with a portion of the restaurant having open windows to the temperate conditions outside.
The outside patio seemed nice and I believe I would go back to enjoy a glass of wine there, but likely not for the food again.

Great meal & service but the restaurant was extremely loud. So much so that several of the employees apologized for the noise.
We’ve gone to Flask & Beaker twice now and both have been consistent, great experiences! The staff couldn’t be nicer or more personable, the food is delicious & the portions generous, and the ambiance is fantastic. It’s just a really beautiful space.
The first time we went not realizing it was going to be a hotel restaurant. (We’d just come across it on OpenTable and it wasn’t a place either of us had heard of, so we decided to see what it was about.) From past experiences with hotel restaurants, we were a bit skeptical about it once we arrived and realized it was inside the Marriott, but we decided we may as well try it since we were already there. Much to our surprise, it is unlike any other hotel restaurant we’ve ever been to and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it! (Their sponge cake is a must-have, by the way.)
Beautiful scenery. Gracious, attentive hostess. Food was goood, albeit on the expensive side. Nice place to take someone visiting Raleigh.

The food was wonderful but the service was slow—especially the bar service. It wasn’t crowded so I don’t know why. It’s a bit close in the dining room and therefore a bit loud but very nice decor.
Don't be pulled in by fashionable the name. This spot is a huge disappointment with a huge bill at the end.
Our server was very sweet, but she was slow and after our meal was served (which took inexplicably long) we were completely ignored. We were not offered more drinks, water, or even shown a dessert menu. We were also there for a celebration and this wasn't even mentioned as we dined.
The food we received was not as it was described in the menu. There was supposed to be a special cheese on the salad. We were given Kraft shredded cheese in a cup as an afterthought. Our charcuterie board was just a bunch of store bought items and Harris Teeter type cheese cubes. The steak was overcooked. My husband's pasta looked like we had made it at home.
And the price cost us just as much, if not more, than fantastic eateries just minutes away.
It was Christmas night so they were empty but it was great because we didn’t have to wait very long for our food and had excellent service. The food was great and I loved the way they tied the menu in with the name of the restaurant. The prices were a little more than I thought they should be, maybe because it’s in a hotel? But we knew that going in, so it was expected. My husbands Brunswick Stew came out cold, they offered us a free dessert, which we didn’t take them up on, and remade it. It was hot and great when it came back out. They even made my son a flatbread pizza that wasn’t part of the menu. The servers were all very sweet and helpful even though it was Christmas Day and they didn’t want to be there. I was very thankful they were open and made for a special night!
Absolutely empty so we were the only ones eating. Would have wanted the service to be better because of this.
Food was amazing and would recommend the items we ate, Wolfpack Burger, Reuben, Mushroom Tacos and Sweet Potatoe and Quinoa sandwich.

Cool hotel restaurant on ncsu campus. Went there on a Monday night was very quiet. We made an open table reservation and when we got there we stated to bartender who greeted us we had reservation he just said sit wherever we want. The restaurant only had a few people at the bar and we sat at a table. We waited a few mins for waitress to show and she was quite friendly and accommodating. We ordered panzanella salad which was ok. Brunswick stew good. Shrimp Po boy w fries good and than a beef ragu sauce over pasta not very good. Sauce was super dry and thick and pasta was not cooked to order. (Reheated). Portions were plenty. This restaurant has potential to be a real hot spot if managed to deliver better fresh quality food and more welcoming front staff. Our waitress was super. Will go back in summer to see when they open all the garage style doors and check out outdoor seating. We live in the triangle and do many stay -cations and this could be one of those cool places but will need to bump up suggestions above.

I found this place online I was totally shocked where it was at. Very very pretty set up the way they have it with the doors open up and the pool and lake down below. The food and service was very good cost us $100 for two people with drinks kind of pricey for what it was but will go back.
The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived at 6 PM. Service was slow and they were out of several items on the menu. Beautiful setting but everything else was mediocre.
Had lunch but no bar tender was available to prepare a cocktail with NC products.

I was expecting a fun chemistry-themed place (they advertise a lab-themed bar), but this is just an ordinary hotel lobby restaurant. The only fun theming were some molecular structures drawn on the menu. The food is seriously over priced. We had a burger, a cup of soup, and two other sandwichs plus two drinks drinks from the bar, and the final bill was $107. I was shocked at that. For that money we could have had a fantastic dinner at any number of other places in Raleigh.
Walked out because service was slow. Waited 10 minutes and left. Not busy
