For great service seat with Irene. The food is outstanding, literally every dish we tried was outstanding. The specials prepared by Chef Zach are worthy of high end fine dining they taste that good.
Our service was wonderful with Irene. Friendly & attention to detail. I ordered Chef Zach’s special and was so happy I did! The seafood pasta special was so wonderful! The portion was large and the taste was outstanding!!
Delicious food, scallops and risotto. Bread pudding. Lobster bisque not as good but acceptable.
Been awhile since we have eaten there. Food was good menu had plenty of items to pick from. We will be going back to have fish n chips in the bar on Friday nights
Lighting is horrible, set up of tables is horrible. Ambience not there. Waitress came once to take our order, didn’t drop off food and checked on us more than halfway through our meal. However, our food came out hot. Place needs adjustments. Overpriced tourist trap for summer NYC renters on GLP, not a local favorite go to place. One and done.
Loved the natural light and location
Food is always amazing and the service was great
Went to the fisherman restaurant for the first time on Thursday Dec 9th for an early dinner. We were seated promptly at a table overlooking the water. Our waitress Bree arrived promptly and took our cocktail orders. The food was delicious and large portions. Our waitress Bree was one of the best we have ever encountered. She was very knowledgeable in the full menu as well as the daily specials. She is a great asset to your restaurant.
A local gem! Ever since re-opening, we have made The Fisherman a regular stop and have hosted out-of-town family here as well. The food is reliably good and reasonably priced, particularly at lunchtime. You can't beat the view and the convenient parking. The staff are kind and attentive. Always a good experience!
We came for my mother’s birthday as a special treat. The waitress, when told my mother was hard of hearing, continued to speak so softly that it was hard to hear her. The food came cold and tasteless. The crab cakes were on a bed of wilting arugula on the verge of putrefaction. The clam chowder was cold and tasted like someone dropped the entire salt shaker in the soup. We weren’t asked if we needed or wanted anything else. We left disappointed at the quality for the cost this visit. The only reason we even went back was because we had had a lovely experience on Mother’s Day this year. Never again. We won’t be back nor will we recommend this restaurant to anyone else.
Friends came from RI and NYC to reunite and celebrate Christmas a little early. Perfect restaurant. Quiet. Table with a view. Great martinis. Our meals included chowder, Caesar salads with salmon, lobster roll and fish and chips. All were excellent. Bread pudding and key lime pie for dessert! The Fisherman is just the right place for us to rendezvous! We’ll do it again, I’m sure.
We usually love the Fisherman but last night we had a terrible experience. I requested on Open Table a quiet table not in the middle of the room. We were seated in the middle of the room at the tiniest table. Our server did not let us know all the specials, we over heard another waitress and she was telling her customers about stuffed mushrooms which we would have orders we did not know about them. We had to ask other people to fill our waters. I was not told the special was bay scallops would never have ordered that had to send it back. I had to ask her to wait when said our food would be out soon when she rushed by that we needed water and another wine with dinner. We were very disappointed. I spoke with the manager and she apologized and gave us a gift card to come back. I am not sure we will. Our server was rude and inattentive. I am understanding that it’s hard to get help but this was unacceptable. They should also pay attention to Open Table requests! Our table was awful!
Raw oyster is good.
But cooked dishes are so so.
Soup was a little bit salty, flied fish was not tasty,
the vegetables in the garnish were not as fresh as
they should be.
Delicious food, excellent service, very nice venue, water views
We were early for our reservation but were seated at a requested table
Our server had to check on a few menue specials and how they were prepared
They came out perfect and tasted great
Good beer and wine selection
Dessert list was good but a little expensive compared to apps soups and entrees
The view was fantastic snd the restaurant easy to find with plenty of free parking
Mary is an outstanding server. Started with the Lobster Rangoon,Coconut Shrimp, and a cup of Lobster Bisque. Entrees were a Caesar Salad and Faroe Island Glazed Salmon. Dessert the unbelievable Caramel Creme Brûlée. All the food was FANTASTIC!!
A couple of Tito's and Grey Sail Drafts made for a memorable evening. Thank you
My husband and I always enjoy going there for either lunch or dinner.
Great seafood restaurant. Food was yummy and ambiance wonderful. Will go back during the day to see the beautiful water view.
Great to come back to The Fisherman after many, many years. It was a nice alternative to the downtown Mystic restaurants.
We really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and the extensive variety on the menu. The food and drinks were all terrific. What a great place for dinner.
Waitress was excellent.
Had the salmon, which was perfect.
All guests raved about food.
Great food and views.
The noise level inside was very high. We've dined outside and it was very nice but this time we were inside and it was very noisy. I had the scallops, which were excellent but I didn't like the risotto it was sitting on. I have a 40 year history with this place. It's coming back to it's past excellent service and food. Will continue to go there...
Beautiful setting and very good service. Will definitely return.
Really great place. Our second time visiting, and seated by the water while enjoying the amazing food & excellent service is a real treat.
Returning to Mystic after 37 years, we’d hope to visit The Fisherman Restaurant while in town. We researched and found it was still around. The weather was in our favor and we dined on the patio. Our server, Akee, was so great…polite and attentive! We started with a cup of chowder and the bisque. We both ordered the hot lobster roll because we didn’t want to have to share. After all these many years, the restaurant still serves the best we’ve ever had.
Great food in a great location. We ate outside on the patio which is spectacular. They have been doing a wonderful job with the food all summer. I'm a regular repeat customer.
Amanda, our server, was very attentive and helpful. Our food and drinks were all very good. Our Mystic oysters were delicious, as was my wife's swordfish and my lobster madeira. The seating on the outside patio just off the cove was very enjoyable. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience and we will return.
Wonderful! There was a mix up with our bill which we didn't catch but they did and they corrected it within an hour.
Fabulous outside porch to enjoy a beautiful view! The drinks and food were delicious too!
Booked with OpenTable and have shellfish allergy listed in profile.
Waitress told us the specials (not on a menu) and we ordered “bacon wrapped jalapeños” which we later learned as my throat closed up had crabmeat stuffing.
Tuna was good. Swordfish okay.
What a wonderful evening! We were visiting our child for parents weekend. We considered ourselves so lucky to be spending quality time, on the water, dining on delicious food. We were so cared for and when the outdoor heater did not work the restaurant was quick to move us to a better table with lighting and heat to ensure we were comfortable. Thank you for creating a meal we will always remember.
I made a reservation and asked for a table by the window. It appears they don't look at the speical instructions till u arrive. We were told they had nothing available when clearly there were tablewhich were reserved for the owners son. So we were escorted to our seat which was the worst seat in the house . Our view was a wall. Really!?
We walked right by a table with a view. The restaurant is 90 percent windows. And might I add the older hostess was very rude. Our waitress make up for it. We was friendly and sweet. She was given very good tip for her service.
We sat outside at a table by the water. There was a large heater so no one was cold. The fish and chips was perfectly prepared with a brown crispy crust and a generous piece of flaky fish. Very well done!
We enjoyed the dinner and atmosphere at the Fisherman. We've had two visits to this restaurant. The outdoor dining on the deck was very nice. The water view is of Palmer Cove, not a direct view of Long Island Sound. The tables are comfortable and the service was good. Indoor dining was also good, with large window views of the Cove. We've tried the Lobster Roll, Stonington Sea Scallops, Burgers and the Chicken Cordon Bleu. All were prepared well with moderate portions (not too small or too large).
Good service. Lots of variety on the menu. Scenic location. Lots of parking.
The food was very much a shoreline dinner. The the view of Palmers Marina, lots of childhood memories of having my dads boat docked there! Covid precautions in place felt comfortable dinner there! And the food is always good.
Meal and service we’re outstanding. Would definitely recommend and return when in the area
Beautiful outdoor setting that was matched by a friendly and attentive wait staff and an interesting menu. The hot lobster roll was a huge hit as were the oysters.
It was a wonderful dinner the only thing I would change is maybe spray a little more often for mosquitos, but they are bad this year so I’m sure they have tried.
