The lobster rolls were excellent, the view was wonderful and our server, Mia, was outstanding!

This revue is for midday at The Fisherman Restaurant, having been here before for dinners on weekends. EVERYTHING was perfect for a leisurely and quiet luncheon experience. The view of the canal was extremely lush and peaceful. Kayakers and birds enjoyed the water and sunshine. The very BEST pat on the back for the entire restaurant I can give is that they are not only mindful, but also knowledgeable, about those who need GLUTEN FREE food. The waitress went above and beyond to mark one order absolutely “allergic to wheat, presence of celiac disease , must be prepared as gluten free separately from other wheat foods” , AND then SPOKE this request DIRECTLY to the CHEF. This means the shrimp was not grilled where other foods might have been breaded first(then grilled), but separately cooked in a pan. THIS alone was impressive , and the guest felt TOTALLY safe ordering. The waitress did all of this cheerfully, and also mentioned there is GF bread and GF pasta to be enjoyed. Thank you so much, IRENE! Do yourself a favor and enjoy this restaurant at any time of day! Plus, this location is merely a few miles outside of Mystic as the Fisherman Restaurant sits at the entrance to Groton Long Point, another beach community in the up and coming foodie spots in Southeastern CT , Groton/Mystic/Stonington !

Amazing views of water. Great spot. The lobster roll was yummy. The clam chowder was also pretty good.

This particular night there was some kind of high school music experience going on. The noise level inside the restaurant was unbearable. We ended up having drinks and not staying for dinner. It was an impossible situation. I’ve been to this restaurant many times, this was just an off night. The restaurant may want to rethink having this kind of activity without a warning given to those making a reservation that the noise level will be unbearable and that the staff will be stretched too thin so patrons can decide for themselves whether they want to still come in for dinner. That being said, it was the best martini I’ve ever had. Kudos to that bartender!

We had a lovely table overlooking the water. The food and drink was excellent and our waitress was fabulous.

the restaurant is in a wonderful location, very easy to access. the ambiance is wonderful and the crews are great too. the toilet was not as per scale. the food quality is good, not excellent. the price is outrageous. we won't go back afain

Waitress Gretchen was fantastic!! The food overall was good but the oysters were very small for the price. Food was good but overpriced for the portions that you get. Great atmosphere on the water and staff was awesome.

This place used to be a safe option casual but decent for us locals. However, today The food in our party ranged from okay to not so good. The bread we had while waiting for our meals was good. But i must mention the wait was ridiculously long for food to arrive. Most disturbing, was that we noticed a local D- grade politician and her family who was seated long after us, was served faster than us, even though they were ill mannered and rude. My family said they would rather not go back. With so many local options, perhaps we wont. We did tip our server well, as she was visibly dismayed by the preparation times, stressed, and still apologetic. But for the rest of the bill, it felt like I paid more than three times what it was worth.
