Miserable experience from start to finish. Our server Scott was barely competent. I asked for margarita, rocks no salt. I got salt. Ordered the spinach crab dip for an appetizer. It came with the meal. WTH. Ordered shrimp and fish combo and got shrimp. IDK what is up with these people. AND THEN, had the nerve to tell me he wouldn’t charge for the appetizer. He sis, we paid. Won’t be back!

The service was great. The Manhatten chowder is not Manhattan and the sea bass was cooked to long.

Had a lovely pre-theater dinner with good friends and all of our food was outstanding! Two had the scallops (cooked to perfection), one the swordfish (ditto) and one the smoked salmon with linguine. Our server brought out the amazing warm bread and our wines promptly, the food arrived at a perfect time, and we had plenty of time to linger and talk before heading down to the Old Globe. We had been worried it would be crowded (as the Del Mar Fair was open) but all was well, parking was plentiful. We love the Fish Market!

Faith was incredible, her service was the key to an overall great experience. Definitely a memorable father’s day meal. Really liked the changes to the dining room, more open feel. Good atmosphere. It was nice but still felt casual. Great for date night or a friends & family meal. Manhattan (red) chowder recipe appears to have changed since the renovation— much thicker and more tomato forward. A bit sweet. Wasn’t our favorite. The appetizers, wedge salad, and lobster were awesome. The fresh sourdough bread is a difference maker. The kids enjoyed their burgers. Great drinks too! Only issue— one of our guests ordered a “rare to med rare” steak and it came out nearly “well done.” They offered to remake the steak, which was good, but it didn’t come out until everyone had already finished their meals so they just packed it to go. The front of house team made a good faith attempt at service recovery with this, but the execution from the kitchen on the steak didn’t match the quality standard set by the rest of the meal. Definitely will return!

We have not been to the Fish Market since it was sold. We were pleased to see the food was good and our wait staff was outstanding. All entrees were served at once hot and tasty.

I ordered the cioppino and it was not great. The sauce is heavy and very spicy. The shredded blue crab served as a thickening agent, with lots of fish and 2 shrimp. I have had cipppino all over the world this is an American vesion.

Been a long time fan of the Fish Market but had not been in some time. Ordered the steak and lobster, and was a little disappointed in the Lobster as it was dry and chewy. While we had reservations, we waited 15 minutes for a table and then service was very slow. We were going to a show and ultimately had to rush our meal to finish 90 minutes after our reservation. Seems like they have some staff and service processes to work out. Hope they do.
