Established in 1999 and proudly celebrating twenty years in Borough Market this year, fish! was the first restaurant of its kind in London. Our concept is simple – providing our customers with the best quality fish, cooked in front of you, in simple and classic ways. Since 1999 our focus has never changed, quality and responsible sourcing is still our main concern…we just look a bit more fancy now!
Our central location in Borough Market means that London’s best produce is right on our doorstep. We are proud to say that we source most of our produce from Borough Market itself, and our fish is delivered daily from our very own fishmonger, Jarvis, which is renowned for its extensive range of the freshest fish and seafood. We're also winners at the National Fish & Chip awards too!

As on all other previous visits, excellent food and wonderful service, in a relaxed atmosphere, definitely a regular go to restaurant.

Overall OK but not as good as previous visits. Ordered a bottle of dry white and when it came and we tasted it it had a “fizz” to it which wasn’t described on the wine list. So when we enquired the Manager came over and said “yes it is an effervescent wine so it will be fizzy that’s what Txakoli in the name means, because that’s obvious! No other explanation and then the comment “well they’ve opened it now so I’ll have to charge you anyway if you choose another”. What is the point of being allowed to taste the wine if when it is not as you thought? Food came Halibut was overcooked and had to go back. Tuna wasn’t rare as described but at this point just wanted to finish up and get out. Not sure if Monday was a bad day but does need to up its game.

Nice service and ambience. We all had mussels which were good. Two had plaice and chips. I thought mine could have been fresher. The other two diners were happy.

If you are in London and you want fish, this is the place to go. Go early if you want quieter. Go when Borough Market is in full flow if you want it busy. Good wine list too. Depending where you come from it could appear expensive but cost v value given the quality of the fish is a sensible equation. If you want really good fish and chips on a Friday this is a must.

Fantastic service, but the chips were not very hot and were unappetising. Many of the dishes were nice, but not outstanding.

Good quality, maybe slightly pricey for what it is (good fish and chips can be had for a lot less). However, I booked a table on Saturday afternoon with less than an hour notice, service was fast and efficient, and food was tasty and well prepared. While you can eat a bit more cheaply in Borough market, this was a much more civilised, sit down, meal in a more relaxed environment. It was my fourth visit over the course of several years, and would not have a hesitation to come back.

I haven’t been to FISH for years. It used to be my favourite restaurant back in the early 2000s when I moved to London. It was every bit as good today and I definitely won’t leave it as long again!! Wonderful service who helped our Spanish guests with menu translations. Delicious food and great menu, as always- delicious!!!
