Bucket of mussels was very bland, it tasted as if there was no seasoning whatsoever. My mom had the butterfish and, while it was moist and cooked fine, it was also very bland.

Seated by fish tank as requested. Drink refills could have used more attention but server was friendly and overall the food and experience was awesome

Half the menu was out for the day so we left. Very nice ambiance though and the server that we had for the 5-10 minutes we were there was excellent

Fish House Vera Cruz in San Marcos has been a favorite for many years. However, we got to where we would go to San Diego and the coast to eat. My husband & I have gotten older & don't like to drive as far, (we live in San Marcos). We returned to our old favorite & it is better than ever! Wondering why we drove so far for food that was no better! Guess that old saying the grass is always greener can also apply to a restaurant! Thank you for maintaining your high standards all these years!!
