About Mina's Fish House
Mina’s Fish House reimagines the Hawaiian fish house theme by combining the seafood bounty direct from pristinely clear Hawaiian waters. James Beard Award-Winning Chef Michael Mina brings the line-to-table philosophy to the restaurant where every dish is “as good as we can make it.” Based on a traditional fish house where friends and family gather, you’ll find Mina’s impeccable take on Hawaiian traditional banana leaf-wrapped and steamed, laulau-style, on a wood-fired grill and Hawaiian pink salt-baked ocean delicacies).

Mina's Fish House Ratings and Reviews
The food was quite good. Flavorful with fresh ingredients and food combinations.
The service was very pleasant when I had service. The hostess was very unprofessional telling me they had no openings until 2 hours later when my open table reservation did show on their list. Funny hoe I stepped away and rebooked within 15 minutes????? When I returned I was seated in no man's land waited 10 minutes to even be greeted at the table while all the tables around me were empty for the whole meal. Not a great start!
The server was very pleasant however it appeared they were short staffed.
Too bad, the food was worth the aggravation, but the experience so disappointing.
This establishment would not even garner a star had it not been for the quality and flavour of the food. It took 20 minutes to simply get drink refills, one hour to get the food. We were visited by the server a total of two times (not flagged) with feeble apologies for the wait and pseudo-attempts at service. Not worth the price they are charging to eat there, and definitely a damper to our otherwise pleasant vacation.
Service was incredibly slow. Their signature dish, the Lobster Pot Pie, was overcooked. The kids menu was unimaginative — at a seafood restaurant they had only fish and chips as a seafood option and the chef refused to cook anything else for the kids. When we brought our issues tomthe manager, he offered us a free dessert —if we came back again. No thanks. Overpriced, bad service and fair food. You can do much better than this place.
This is a difficult review to do.... The view is outstanding, the decor above average and the staff was terrific. However I am on the fence about the food. I felt the lunch menu was limited, and nothing very special. 27.00 hamburger was Ok, well cooked but really for the money something a little more creative than garlic fries and a brioche bun. Fish house chop salad was ok not much for taste but looked nice. Not sure if the discription of the food lives up to actual product. I really want to give this place a better review, but to tell you the truth the not sure the view makes up for the high price and ok food. They have reopened under a new name so maybe they are still trying to work out the menu. Maybe dinner is better.
We knew when we made the reservation that they had just opened and were ready to cut them some slack. We ordered their Christmas Eve 6 course meal, however, the service was very confusing. Lots of people running around (not sure what they were doing) and yet we had to flag someone down to get more drinks, no one filled our water or asked if we wanted more when the bottle ran out. People serving the food were not quite sure what happened next . Courses came out on top of each other and when we asked to have things slowed down a little, we then waited 20 minutes for the next course (again without anyone checking on us for drinks etc.). The server did say she could control when our dessert came out and we said great, and then waited for 30 minutes again without anyone checking on us. Our check was over $380 without the tip for 2 people. Okay, we have spent more but my husband was still hungry when the meal was complete. We live locally and frequented the first Fish house on a regular basis and it was much better. My husband (who in 20 years has never complained to a restaurant) called the manager, Grace when we arrived home. He came away from the call with a sour taste in his mouth and felt he had not been heard at all.
$20 gin and tonic seriously!?! Even at a resort that is ridiculous! Chicken Harissa “wrap” was lacking in flavor (including anything resembling harissa spice) piled onto of a under cooked flatbread that tasted like a saltine cracker. Singlehandedly my worst meal in recent memory!!
We were seated at 1 pm with a lovely ocean view and given water and then we waited and waited and waited as servers walked by us and the managers, etc. There were a few other tables with children, but the restaurant was far from full. We went on Christmas Eve wanting to have lunch with reservations. After 20 minutes, we left and yes we told the hostess why and the valet parking why. The staff and managers at the restaurant are just disorganized. We went to Roys down the street and had a lovely lunch with no reservation and perfect service.
Very disappointing. Had a reservation and waited to get a table buried in the back, decided to wait longer and sit at the bar and have a drink. Bartender was not very friendly. Our server was really great and very careful with handling food allergies but our entree never came, we waited almost an hour and then decided to leave as other people who arrived after us were receiving their food with no issue. The manager was nice enough and took care of our appetizers. Not sure what was going on but the way they handled everything was very disappointing on our anniversary.
We visited Mina's during an annual week-long stay in Ko'Olina. The ambiance was nice, the view of the lagoon at Four Seasons was beautiful, and the bar and serving staff were friendly and professional. The food was well-prepared and nicely presented, my wife ordering a steak and I having the local snapper. Portions were smaller than I anticipated for a medium level restaurant at a resort hotel, particularly in light of the menu prices. Still, we had a wonderful meal in a wonderful "oceanside" restaurant, and likely will visit again next year.
Worse service EVER..... were there celebrating anniversary .... pretty high end as far as prices yet wait staff are sporting white shorts and sneakers. Arrival OK, great table, a nice complimentary mimosa (at dinner ) from there down hill . Tar tar was fabulous but than the wait for salad was probably 90 minutes, by the time we got someone to come to our table to inquire our ENTRES magically appeared..... but no salad! So salad came after main entre, of which I found no humor with the waiters suggesting “this is how they do it in France” nice try but not funny to us. To pay Michael Mina / 4Seasons prices i expect more. One entre was $95 the second was $48......won’t be back, a free drink doesn’t excuse the terrible service.
We went to Mina's Fish House for our company Christmas lunch. We had a party of 12 adults. The cocktails were superb!
We ordered the King Sized Seafood Tower, which was chock full of shrimp, oysters, crab and lobster!
Our entrees ranged from Steaks to Fish, and everyone enjoyed their meals. We ordered all 4 desserts, and everyone took a small taste, as we were pretty full.
The view from the restaurant is unbeatable, especially during whale watching season!
We visited Mina's on their second night open at the Four Seasons and it was delightful to say the least. My husband and I were celebrating our belated honeymoon and decided to visit Mina's on the recommendation of our airBNB host. We started our meal with some complimentary champagne from Mina's to celebrate and that set the tone. Our drinks were wonderful, as were the oysters we had as our starter. My husband had the lobster bisque and was over the moon with how delicious it was. I am celiac and our waiter Jaybee was fantastic as helping to guide me through the menu on what would be safe. By the time we left we were beyond full and completely satisfied with the creative beverages that we had and the delicious food.
The outdoor seating was pretty comfortable. The foods were great, the Alaskan king crab and black cod were cooked perfectly. The Kona lobster and coconut bisque was surprisingly good, it comes with truffle boba. The creme brûlée for dessert was also unique with a slightly lighter texture than usual.
