Closed permanently. A real shame.
The restaurant has been permanently closed. You folks need to get up to speed by sending me a email one in a review after a week of the restaurant being closed. We did not get to eat at the restaurant, it has been permanently closed.
Great place to see live music, however, the service was horrible. We repeatedly had to find the server and make requests. Was a very long, frustrating process to get the food and drinks we ordered. When they arrived, the food was great!
New Portabella Summer salad was delicious!
The group enjoyed the meals but the service was very unreliable and slow. The server assigned never returned after we ordered drinks. After about 10 minutes another server told us she would be our new server but had no knowledge of our drink order. It took an additional 10 minutes for the drinks to come to the table. One of which smelled of soap and was returned to the bar for replacement. After another 10 minutes the server returned to say the drink could not be remade due to a lack of ingredients and a replace order was taken; that drink was never delivered. Our server rarely made it to the table to check in and never addressed the missing drink. No drinks appeared on the final bill.
The food was mediocre and served Cool to cold. The people were very nice and the service was fine but it was a drive for us from Nashville, IN and definitely not worth the drive. With construction and detours, it was hard to reach.
We were excited to have dinner here as we've only had drinks & watched live music on a previous visit. We were seated, got waters, then a beer list...Our server never came to the table again. Waited almost 20 min then left.
Stopped here for dinner after going to Breakout Games escape room. Ordered the pretzel sticks and a Bloody Mary to start. Both were very good. If you get the brown mustard for the pretzels, use sparingly. Even in small amounts it will melt your nasal cavity and your brain will feel like its draining out your nose. You have been warned. I had the Redneck Tacos and they were the best seafood tacos I have ever had, bar none. The value was good and the service was great. Next time we are in the area, we will return!
Enjoyed a night here to celebrate a family member’s graduation. Good service and very accommodating staff. They got our large party in quickly. Live music on the weekends.
We were looking for a Mother’s Day restaurant for 4:30 and this place had space. We were placed at a very small table for 8. We placed our drink order and appetizer and these arrived quickly. Unfortunately it went downhill after that. Refills were hard to come by as our waitress just disappeared. As this was 4:30 you would think mixed vegetables and sweet potato fries would have been available. They were not. The tenderloin sandwiches were delicious but the other meals were only marginal. The catfish and tilapia were tasteless. We then had to track down the waitress for the bill and then the bill was incorrect so that took some time adding to the frustration. Won’t be going back
The food was really good. The service wasn't.
We had a great time at Fireside, but I will say that our service was pretty slow. I wouldn't necessarily blame the server, but he seemed overwhelmed due to the crowdedness. It was definitely a busy night, since it was Saturday and Mother's Day weekend, but I felt that it took forever. For example, we had been seat for 35 almost 40 minutes before we all got water and a beer and the beers we got had absolutely no foam left, which usually means they were sitting for a while. For a brew house, you would think that they would be able to serve a beer at premium quality. The food was great and the beers were fine, but the service was definitely left something to be desired.
Waited and waited for water and drinks. Never got the extra fork we asked for. One used chop sticks. Filet was ordered medium and came out well done. Tough and dark. We waited so long for food guest didn't want to make rest of us wait. Waiter said " I could take it back" He should have insisted. He asked if it was a special occasion and we pointed at our two men celebrating birthdays on the 12th. Never mentioned to us again. Nothing. So we sang to them and went elsewhere for dessert. Won't be back soon. Never like this before.
This place always has great food and service. It is one of our favorites for dinner.
It was a rough meal for us. We had dinner here on Saturday. There were 7 of us but we all ordered the same burger. The first thing we found odd was they ran out of glasses. This is a huge restaurant. How do you run out of glasses? Anyway several of us ordered salads instead of fries. 2 people in our group got their salads, ate their salads, had their plates cleared, I asked about our salads, then we finally got them. Mine was not the right salad so I had to wave the server down and get the right one. Then we got to the entree. We all ordered burgers some with peanut butter some without. Of the 7 only 1 had peanut butter and 3 of the 4 that shouldn’t have had fries got them anyway. She apologized and asked if we wanted them recooked because of them not having peanut butter. I said as long as I wasn’t charged for it, it doesn’t matter. We also ordered a glass of wine with our food that still hadn’t appeared yet. We ate. It was ok, would have been better with peanut butter but totally not worth the fight. We finally asked for our check only to have the wrong stuff on each bill, and I got charged for an ala carte salad when my friends were just allowed to sub a salad for fries. I questioned that part of the bill and was told that it was correct and I just said fine.....at that point I was just ready to get out of there. Sad to say it isn’t the first time I’ve had iffy service here. It’s one of the reasons we don’t come here often, but this was for a friends birthday. It’s like you are playing roulette with the service you might receive and for them to be priced the way they are, the service really should be better.
We visit often with a large group, and we ALWAYS get good service, good food, good music, and a good time...!
Everyone was so personable very nice helpful... Went there for brunch will be back for date night..
I gave all ones only because I was not able to get in. After making this reservation on open table, they called my about 30 minutes later to inform me they have no seating available at all that night. They said they have no way to update that with your site? I wasn’t happy about that at all because I had already let my other party know time and place.
I made a 7:30 reservation online and received a call 5 minutes later that said they just got in a big group and can not seat us until 9:30.
I asked why it let me make the reservation then and they had no answer. We went somewhere else and will probably go to that competitor in the future.
Fireside is a nice place with beautiful decor. Service was friendly, and food tasted great!
Food was good but the service was not great. We were told we would be seated in a few minutes, waited 25 minutes and when I went up to ask they thought they had already sat us. We were seated without menus. She took our drink orders, then waited another 5 minutes for menus. 15 minutes later we made our food order. Salads and entrees came out at the same time. After dinner she came and gave us the bill then disappeared for 15 minutes. We were finally able to pay and leave but the service was very bad. We were introducing 2 other couples to Fireside and it was not a great first impression and I am afraid that neither of those couples will go back.
Our experience would have been much better however they had several large groups that caused the restaurant to run behind. I wish I would have known that when we but in our reservations, as we would have went somewhere else. We will come back as the food and our server were great!
We were out for Valentines Day with family and enjoyed the 2 for special dinners. Both the Filet and Salmon were delicious. The service was fast but not too fast allowing us to really enjoy the meal and the company.
Great food and great service.
Fireside used to be kind of a special place. It seems to have become very run of the mill. Don’t know where then they changed, just not quite as good overall as it used to be.
I made a reservation on Open Table and it was confirmed. I then received a phone call from Carol letting me know they were booked for the evening, so the reservation was cancelled. She let me know she would be reserving tables for walk-ins and I could come wait on those, but she wouldn’t allow my party to have any of those. Just seemed weird to me, I felt she could’ve been a bit more apologetic and accommodating. Then we came into wait, they said 15-20 minutes and it was more like 45. It was fine once we sat down, just not the greatest.
While in Indy my husband and I had the opportunity to schedule a last minute dinner date & book through OpenTable approx 20 minutes prior to our arrival and when we arrived the host, annoyed that we'd asked him anything w/o his prior ok, said there is no way we can seat to you we have been full for over an hour. We replied we'd booked through OpenTable & he simply dismissed us without another word. We have been to this restaurant, having lived in Indy, but I can guarantee we will never return.
Food was good but they did not honor the open table reservation so we sat at bar until they could open a table. The place was half empty for our 6:30 but they said they forgot to enter the fact that they had a band and all tables were reserved for 7 on we left at 7:30 and place was still pretty open we could have sat at the table top instead of at front door opening in front of kitchen. Wish restaurants that use this app would honor it.
Steak was tender, lacked seasoning. Sadly, I was shocked that they served instant potatoes. Service was great along with the drinks!
I’m normally a huge fan of Fireside, but was not happy tonight. We made a reservation for 7:30 via Open Table. When we arrived, they told us that when the reservation came through, their tables were already reserved for that time & that it would be an hour wait. They were very cavalier. At that time, Open Table was still showing reservations available for 7:45. When I suggested that to them that they should discontinue using Open Table for reservations until they could have their system sync with the program, they just shrugged. This isn’t the type of service I would expect or pay for.
Great place to visit and have a wonderful meal.
Love the Filet!
Overall, the Fireside is a good overall restaurant. My wife and I go about 2-3 times a year. There isn't one thing about it that wow's me, but it's a nice place to visit on the south side.
Great Atmosphere, Terrific Food, with Outstanding Service !! Wonderful experience every time!
Three of us had good meals one had wings that were not good. When told the waitress asked "What's wrong with them?" Never asked if he would like to get something to replace them. She said the manager would have to decide how to handle the problem. Ten minutes later she said that it would be removed from the bill, still never asked if he would like another dinner, dropped off the bill collected the money and left never apologized just asked if we needed change. Too many restaurants with caring help to put up with this
Good food and great service! Please make the fries better (not battered).
Nice ambience, friendly staff
Very disappointing. They were short help and our waiter was paying the price for bad management. Had to go to the bar to ask for drink refills. When our food arrived it was warm at best. It will be awhile before we give this place another try!
Everything I've ever ordered was very good. Although, I find it a bit pricy. We went to watch the live band and enjoyed that very much! Good atmosphere.
We have been to this restaurant in the past and it was very good. Not sure what was going on this time. It was very empty, they were confused on who was going to be our server, and the food was not good. I was really looking forward to the M-80's and even the appetizer was bad. Shrimp was rubbery and was cold.
Food and service won't disappoint you. Worth the drive for diverse menu. The Lamb was great
