Sun-splashed by day and romantically lantern-lit at night, Firenze's flower-bedecked patio, with it's gentle fountain, is like a private courtyard in some romantic Italian villa. Come see what all the buzz is about we are certain that you will enjoy this one of a kind experience in this beautiful San Diego Italian restaurant.
This is one of our favorite restaurants normally. We had to wait a half an hour before anyone took care of us and the service was dreadful. The food was not up to par and no one even seem to care.
The servers were overwhelmed and stressed. Very poor management.
At this time, we will not return
It was a great place and the food was good. I thought a little pricy for the basic dishes. I get it for complex dishes but even a plain spaghetti for kids is $30. But all in all a nice place for dinner.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at Firenze. The food was very good, the service excellent and the ambiance was great. We were seated back in a corner of one of the rooms and it was very quiet. Wonderful evening.
Very reliable good food and service
We enjoyed most of the fixed price dinner for New Year's Eve. The starts (soup and calamari) were great. The main course of haddock was very bland. It was a good size portion, but had no seasonings. The cioppino was better. The desserts were very good and the service very good as well. It was nice that we could take our time and enjoy the evening.
Busy New Year’s Eve crowd- great food as usual!
We are regular customers and will continue...especially for special occasions.
I haven't been At Firenze for more than 20 years, but the food is still delicious. Only the tiramisu was much better the last time....
My expectations where exceeded. Service, dinner and a warm atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the Lasagna and the Scampi. Both dishes were great. I also recommended the home made chicken meatball with the Rigatoni/Mushroom entree.
We look forward to returning soon.
Excellent first visit to Firenze. We will definitely come back. Christine was a polite and friendly server. Our selections (muscle appetizer, minestrone soup, Risotto Fantastico, and the baked ziti) were all excellent. Food was served piping hot and portions were large. We could easily have shared a main course, but wanted to sample 2 different dishes. The only “miss” was the Lava cake which did not have a melty center at all. Tasted like a microwaved piece of chocolate cake. Next time we will try the recommended Tiramisu.
Nice wine list and the splits of Champagne were a nice option.
This is one of our go to places. Always a great meal with superb service.
A great spot for delicious Italian food. It is one of the places I think of when I want comfort food.
My friends and I totally enjoyed our Xmas dinner! Everything was fabulous...and we are picky!! Xox
We enjoyed our evening at Firenze. The food, service, and ambiance did not disappoint.
Lots of ambience. Food was served hot and fresh. Our waiter didn’t seem to be 100% into service. We have had many tasty meals over the years there.
Consistently superb for a special evening out or just getting out!
Great food and wonderful service
Restaurant was recommended as top notch Italian food. Overall my wife and I were pleasantly surprised.
We shared a shredded Caesar salad which we thought was just ok. The other appetizers we thought were overpriced.
Our main courses, I had veal parmigiana with pasta, my wife eggplant parmigiana with pasta and fresh sautéed green beans were plentiful and delicious.
The service was good.
As always, great food and outstanding service.
Firenze Trattoria is a neighborhood gem. We had not been for many months and were pleased to find that the ambiance, service, food and wine were as good as we remembered. Located near the boundary of Encinitas in the quaint West Village Shopping Center, the many classic Italian dishes--eggplant, ravioli and many others--are outstanding. Wine list is superb. Overall, this restaurant has the best Italian Food in North County at reasonable prices! Highly recommended for special occasions and/or `date night!'
A wonderful dinner! The food was excellent and we were well looked after. I have to mention the tiramisu by name because I have not had anything as good since eating in Rome.
We celebrated my sister's birthday here and it was a very enjoyable experience. Christine was our waiter and she was very helpful with our choice of wine to accompany our entrees. The chicken piccata was very well seasoned and the generous portion provided my dinner for the following evening. The complimentary Tiramisu was a delicious ending to a great meal. Firenze is my go to restaurant for special occasions.
As usual, great food and service.
This restaurant is so good, we dine here at least once per month. A great menu of superb Italian food- we think the best in the entire San Diego area. Choices are infinite and the portions are outstanding.
As always, tried another of their specials and it was great!! (Grilled veal chop)
Delicious food and excellent service.
Good as always, Salsicce con pepperonata is the best
We are NEVER disappointed...it's always PERFECT!
The food is always delicious!!!
I've been going to this restaurant for over 20 yrs. Never not delicious. The lasagne is phenomenal!
Consistent Italian food served by friendly wait staff. Tough to beat!
Great as always and will repeat ... Great as always. ... Great as always ... Great as always!!!
If you are in the area, STOP, you will not be disappointed ... MAKE RESERVARIONS !!
It was just okay. The service was good but the cost was way more than the quality.
Our waitress was disinterested and not attentive.
Pasta and clam sauce is a crowd pleaser.
Love this place. Great food and friendly/efficient staff.
Delicious food as usual with great service
We had a delightful birthday dinner outside on the patio. The food and portions were amazing, and so was the service!
The gluten free options were great, although stay clear of the “gluten free” cannoli. My husband ate one, but I waited to test it at home in my Nima Sensor - and it said “Gluten Found”. If I had eaten that I would have been very sick. They claim that a woman makes them for the restaurant, but I doubt they are made in a gluten free facility, and also doubt if this woman understands the importance of having a non-contaminated kitchen. Other than that, their gluten free lasagna is incredible, and I’v never had an issue.
The best Cannelloni Fiorentina I ever had. Even better then my moms & were pure blooded Italian.
Amazing dining experience.
We have chosen Firenze for Special occasions and have never been disappointed. We love the courtyard and our waitress, Christine, was just wonderful. The food is always delicious.
