Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Richmond - Short Pump
Attentive service, great food. We had the 3 course special and were very pleased. Had food to take home.
Monday nights are "half-priced wine"nights at Firebirds, so of course my friends I and I dined that particular night. We took advantage of a short-term three-course special which was prepared perfectly to our order. Our waiter, Brian, provided the most congenial and excellent service, even going the extra mile to search for a particular vintage bottles of wine we requested. All in all, it was a very excellent experience.
Fruit Flies everywhere in the bar area restaurant area lobby area
This is the 2nd time we have ate here and this is the 2nd time that we have had bad service as well as terrible food. There were 4 of us eating. The 2 cheeseburgers were burnt and hard and my pineapple chicken was burnt and hard. Only good thing with that was the PINEAPPLE. Now the desserts were outstanding. Will not be back and will not refer to anyone to go.
Out with friends prior to a cotillion dance.
My mom’s birthday. Steaks were not seasoned well and cooked past requested temp. Drinks and firecracker shrimp were really good.
The restaurant was so noisy that it was so hard for us to talk to each other and for our waiter to talk with us. We were seated near the kitchen so maybe put a wall up between the tables and kitchen to block some of the noise. I would highly recommend getting an acoustic assessment for the benefit of the wait staff as well as the patrons.
Always a go to place for dinner - excellent options, delicious food, ambiance is great in the restaurant as well as the bar. Customer service is on point, and it's easy to relax and have a conversation without feeling rushed. Convenient and great location - one of my faves for almost 17 years!!
The Delmonico steak I received was neither 12 oz. nor cooked medium. Instead it was about 8 oz. and cooked well done. Also, I ordered 2 of their “craft cocktails” and the second one tasted different than the first and tasted bad. Clearly they didn’t follow the same recipe for the second one.
Not what it used to be. It was a Monday night, the restaurant was not packed, but there were 10 - 12 tables of customers. My husbands order was wrong - we told the server when they brought it to the table - we knew he had ordered the steak salad because they asked how he wanted it cooked - they brought a salmon salad - server took it back - 10 minutes later returned with the poorest excuse for a steak salad - chewy and fatty. The server seemed to want to be anywhere but there. A larger group came in for what appeared to be a drink and dessert only and they seemed to need all of the attention.
Overall - not a good experience, food and service were poor, especially for the price.
Firebirds used to have a great burger, grilled over wood chips. No more! This burger was tasteless, as were the tater tots and steak fries we ordered. Service was slow on a busy Friday night. We won’t be returning.
Always great food.
Always great service.
Love Firebirds !
Had a wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner. Eric, our waiter was superb and the food was excellent. We look forward to returning to Firebirds in the near future.
We had a party of six for New Year's Eve. The food was very good, except my steak, ordered medium, was more like well done or between medium well and well. But it was fine in taste. The accompanied grilled shrimp were not hot, but tasted good. I didn't send them back because I could "make do" and didn't want to wait on more to be cooked. One person ordered a chicken sandwich and said the chicken was "chewy." We had an excellent waiter and overall the food was fine as was the whole experience. I know everything can't be perfect all at once but it was sufficiently nearly perfect. We were returning customers and will continue to patronize Firebirds.
This was our first time at Firebirds and we were pleasantly surprised that, in spite of it being New Years Eve, the service, the food, the busy-ness was as good as it could get. We will be back.
Everything was fine , except the quality of my steak. My wife's entree was fine, the appetizer was great, my ribeye was full of grissle and not prepared well. I did not complain then so as not to ruin our annivery dinner.
I was very disappointed with our first time going to firebirds. The food for two people took over an hour to get. The steak was brought out well done when asked for medium and the lobster was over salted. Never can I say I’ve had a lobster salted before. Not once did our waitress come to check on us during the hour we wait for our food or to let us know why it was taking so long and then told us it took longer to cook the lobster then it took to cook the steak! I have cooked plenty of lobster they do not take longer to cook then a medium steak! She did apologize and I know it was not her fault but I expected more from a nicer restaurant. Thankfully we had a gift card and didn’t have to spend our own money.
The food was very good, but the bar pours were pitiful. My husband pointed out his less than adequate pour of scotch, and she said there was nothing she could do. REALLY??????
Overall wonderful dining experience! Waiter was great, food was delicious!
Very pleased with meal, service, and staff. Always enjoy a special meal at Firebirds!
Waitress was spectacular. Food was excellent.
Family in town for holidays
We had reservations and were seated immediately. The food and service was outstanding! We love eating here and it is consistently the same each time we go.
Great food but overpriced. Won’t visit again because they don’t support the military and it’s veterans. Apparently they don’t know how little our most valued government employees get paid.
Mediocre food, Long Island tea tasted like straight sour mix
The food was delicious and served nice and hot. The steaks were tender and cooked to order and the potatoes were very tasty. The appetizer was also good though that order was somehow “lost” so it arrived along with the entrees instead of before so we had to eat it along with our dinner. The server was friendly and attentive and did a wonderful job. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 25 minutes to be seated so that was disappointing and unexpected. There is also very limited seating for those waiting, literally only a small bench that holds 3. And the noise is so loud that it’s difficult to speak to each other at the table.
The table reserved for our party of 6 was very good. The food including desserts were better than average. From the filet mignon prepared exactly as requested to the salmon salad with a sizable portion we all enjoyed our meals.
The only negative experience was with the fruit fly(flies) which circled our table on more than one occasion. We were, for the first time, told there is a brewery upstairs which may explain the presence of the pesky fly.
Overall the experience was quite enjoyable.
My group arrived on time for a 1:00 p.m. reservation but had to wait 45-minutes for our table...not good, especially because this was my first time going and I made the reservations so my group is looking at me and asking me what time I made the reservation. We didn't get our food until after 2:00 p.m. Everybody seemed pleased with the food but once you have to wait that long, you stay upset during the meal because you had to wait. The manager could have at the very least given us a couple of free appetizer. The place was so very extremely loud. We couldn't even hear ourselves talking at our table. That was pretty bad.
Firebirds used to be one of our favorite restaurants. It has fallen from that position on the basis of quality/taste of food as well as service. Really hate to see this happen.
I ordered a salad with shrimp. Half of the shrimp on the salad were gray colored and clearly raw. They did comp my meal and gave me a hamburger, but it was just not a good experience and I did not enjoy the meal after that.
Shopping at short pump for Christmas and decided to treat ourselves to a delicious dinner without driving anywhere. Firebirds never disappoints.
Visited 2 weeks before xmas, make reservations if you do not want to wait an 1hour before a table opens up. The place was packed, however, our server was really good, drinks and food came out in a timely manner due to the place being packed. The restaurant noise level was a little higher because it was Saturday night and close to xmas. I would go back again.
Great hamburgers and steaks. My granddaughter and I got the salmon and it was cooked perfectly.
Food was great. We had a party of 14. Servers did an outstanding job of making sure we had what we needed. Prices were reasonable, We all had a great time and will certainly return!
The restaurant was incapable of managing the crowd. Service at the bar was abysmal, but the server in the dining room was even worse. By the time he brought our checks, we all handed our cards over without looking at the bills because we were so fed up with every single interaction.
It took forever to get our food and when it was brought out 2 out of the 4 meals were cold. Very disappointing.
My sons water glass shattered when he picked it up -- clearly a flaw in the glass -- and not my son's fault. The bottom literally fell off the glass. But, the entire front of his khaki pants was soaked in water. He had to get up, walk to Macy's (while looking like he had peed on himself, and buy a new pair of pants before returning to the meal. The manager and the waiter were aware of this mishap, and yet, even though we were a party of six with a $200 bill, they did not even comp his hamburger. I had to buy another pair of pants, they did nothing. Very big oversight after having something that was embarrassing, meal ruining, and potentially dnagerous happen to a customer. I eat out ALL THE TIME, and I have never seen a restaurant be so cavalier about an accident this large. I eat at Firebirds a lot. This was a big disapointment.
Our server was outstanding! Salads weren't up to their usual due to the romain recall. Not their fault! They took the NY strip off of the menu but had it as a special. Still disappointing that I may not be able to order it in the future. They were out of their wonderful creme brûlée cheesecake. Disappointing but it's a first. So, I will go back.
We were celebrating our wedding Anniversary. Perfect atmosphere for the occasion.
Our meal at Firebirds tonight was excellent. The service exceeded our expectations. I have a number of dietary restrictions, so it is often very difficult to eat out at restaurants. The staff was very kind and sympathetic regarding my situation; they let me know that they really wanted to make sure I would have a great dinner and a good night out with my friends. The waitress, manager and chef worked together and went above and beyond to ensure that ordering was easy and that I had a meal that was both delicious and within my dietary restrictions.
I had the prime rib with a few alterations and a custom zucchini side dish; both were amazing.
My friends really enjoyed their food as well. One of them had the Pepper Encrusted Sirloin. The other had the Grilled Chicken sandwich; she was very happy they allowed her to customize the toppings on the sandwich as well as the side dish. I think the fact that there was nothing left on her plate speaks for itself.
Firebirds Staff - Thank you very much for a wonderful night out! I really appreciate your kindness and generosity. My dinner was amazing.
