We are here for good food and good people! Come say hi!
Service and food were decent but WAY too expensive for the meager portions we were served. $20 for an entree of 8 clams and 6 tiny mussels served in lackluster broth and rock hard french bread? All presented delicately, but seriously disappointing and, frankly, disrespectful. My wife’s cheesy noodles entree was a little more reasonable in portion jut not what I would expect for the price we paid. When reading other reviews this seems to be the pattern. So, if you like to pay a lot of money for neatly plated snacks and heavily marked up wine, the atmosphere is casually pleasant and you will probably find friendly service and enjoy your time.
Spencer runs a great restaurant for any occasion, great vibe, excellent staff and excellent food. The place feels like home, without the in-laws or annoying siblings.
A good spot. Too expensive to be a neighborhood dinner night, but not quite at the level of outstanding food to be a special destination. Kind of an awkward niche. Are they trying to do both? For me, when it crosses $100 for a pasta dinner for two(with starter and a glass of wine), it needs to be special.
We had our Valentine's day dinner here and were happy with the food, but the host and our server were not friendly.
Food was quite good and service very friendly, love to see work staff enjoy visiting with people. The steak and gnocchi were both very good and sauce just right. Had one of the in house desserts and was a real treat.
We will definitely return
We always love eating here. Great food, and ambiance. Great date night spot!
Beautiful atmosphere and great service. Quality food and drinks.
Lovely stylish stablishment with many delicious sounding choices. Desserts I have not heard of. I drank a Sicilian red wine(delish), a baked artichoke smashed (interesting and delish) crostini with tom, gnocchi, filet mignon pieces with feta app, and burrata lightly fried(yum) app. They have a decently large menu with apps, salads, mains, and pasta. It looked like an outdoorish area that was covered to sit in the cold and indoor, pretty bathroom (one stall)
Spencer always does an evening at his restaurant very well.
Did not seem to be good value for the price. Warm radicchio salad was very salty. Baked prawns were very dry and flavorless. Too noisy to have a conversation with anyone that wasn't sitting right beside you (we were a group of four). The zabaglioni classico (dessert) however was wonderful and went a long way to redeeming the evening. We will probably not return though.
This place seemed like it would be good driving by but the service, food, and ambiance surpassed my expectations. Wonderful place all in all.
The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is very warm and friendly. It is family-run, and feels that way.
There are hundreds of restaurants in Portland. Scores of good restaurants. There are some memorable restaurant personalities too. But when we think of our go-to place, it’s always Fillmore Trattoria. And while the food is fantastic (happy to make my suggestions), the secret sauce is Spencer Gwin, his lovely new wife Emma, and their entire staff. Every visit to Fillmore is a sweet homecoming, with the conversation simply picking up where we left off. The place simultaneously warms my tummy and my heart. It’s family dinner with a roomful of new friends.
Always wonderful food, fast friendly service, and a good menu selection.
Best place ever!
Very reasonable prices for excellent food with generous portions. Nice happy hour deals. Thank you!
Wow. I wasn’t expecting such a wonderful dining experience that was top notch because I just picked it out without any research. The food, service, and the aesthetics/ambiance were all perfection. We had burrata crostini, calamari, eggplant and Linguine fra diavolo. All seasoned perfectly and every bite delicious. Good call on having the best Prosecco from Veneto! Our server, Colin was fantastic— knowledgeable and friendly with a great smile. Can’t wait to return!
This place was great in every way not to mention excellent food!
Love the cozy feel of the restaurant. And my favorite is the eggplant....best Italian in the city of Portland!
Great food......except one of our meals was luke warm. We were also sitting in the front area so if someone opened the door a rush of cold hits you pretty good. Need to explore some type of wind blocking drapes ?
Fantastic food fish stew best in Portland
Relaxing atmosphere with excellent service
Autumn salad is the best
Fabulous dining experience , we love to come here often
Super food and vibe with great service!
Food was good, but the meal was slow, and our server was inattentive at best. Our appetizer selections weren't delivered correctly, and desert menus were delivered to the table while some of us were still eating. (Note: they cleared plates for 1/2 the table while some of us were eating). Worst of all, one of our party ended up spending the night in the latrine!
Wonderful Italian food. Fresh ingredients cooked like home! Love the vibe .... make a reservation. We always go one or two times when in Portland from San Diego.
Great food, pacing and ambience. A little loud but tolerable. Definitely will go back. Best espresso I’ve ever had!
We had a terrific time dining with friends. The wait staff was excellent. The food was amazing and overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
The autumn salad was outstanding as were the eggplant dish, the scallops and gnocchi. We had a great bottle of wine for a very reasonable price ($4 off from $41) because we ordered it during happy hour. The coffee and desserts were also exceptional. The price is always higher than I like these days. The service was always there and always very personable. It was a great experience.
The fried goat cheese was wonderful and topped it off with grandma's gnocchi...another great dish.
Service was great. Food was great. Wonderful restaurant. $25 corkage fee??
Everything was perfect except they didn’t have any really traditionally simple Italian dishes. No pomodoro, no simple pastas. No seasonal vegetable dishes except salads. Very meat heavy. . But what we had was very good.
Love love love this place - great people and food
Another wonderful meal at our neighborhood favorite...
Great meal out with friends. Food was wonderful and they were very accommodating on modifications (chicken vs prawns and pasta instead of rice). Service was just right! We will be back and our friends have a new go to place!
Thoroughly enjoyed our birthday celebration. Food was excellent, service was excellent. I wear hearing aids and I found the noise level easy to deal with. And the cost of the evening was entirely reasonable.
We decided to go to Fillmore Trattoria to celebrate an anniversary, and it was lovely. They gave us each a glass of complementary champaign to celebrate the occasion. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, a special mushroom ravioli dish, and a Portabella pasta dish. The food was absolutely delicious! We finished with dessert, a Gelato espresso dish, which was very decadent. The service was great, we didn't feel rushed or ignored. The restaurant itself is very cozy in a good way. Overall it was a very nice place to have an anniversary dinner, but I have a feeling that we will be going back just to enjoy the food, no special occasion necessary.
The best Italian food I have had in Portland. Marissa was a perfect server, great recommendations. Very charming space within a large old house. Outdoor seating with heat lamps and a fire pit. Full bar with a very good wine list. Highly recommend.
This was probably our 7th or 8th visit. We love it more each time.
