Another excellent vegan restaurant in the Twin Cities. I love Fig+Farro. Brunch, snack, dinner, events, everything. I have taken meat-eaters, vegetarains, vegetable-haters - everyone loves it.
Very disappointing food! Limited choices. The falafel was tremendously over cooked and dried out. The soup, lukewarm, and overpriced considering the mediocre dishes!
Service was good, but no questions asked when an almost untouched plate was removed.
10 minutes seated before anyone waited on us
Another 15 minutes before someone took our order
Server took out menus when they dropped food off and
Never returned the menus and never checked back on us
So we could order more small plates
Thus after our first course we decided to leave
And had to flag someone down to get our check
Restaurant was not crowded
Jenna did a fantastic job serving- and was very friendly and helpful. The menu was just what we were looking for as far as a vegan dining experience. Very accommodating service- and food was delicious.
One of the best vegan restaurants I’ve been to in the Twin Cities!
Sorry, but Fig and Farro suffers on many levels. Our server was prompt and earnest but could answer very few of our questions (but did go find the answers for us). With the exception of the lasagna, all of our dishes (apps to entrees to desserts) were fair to pretty bad. The lasagna had a great flavor profile. Very dry and dense falafel and tamale, the desserts were particularly bad and the entrees were okay as small plates but you really did not want to tuck into a full serving. There were four red wines on the wine list. Two were out of stock. I ordered a decaf coffee and was told they had the beans but could not grind them. The staff seemed keen to offer good service but were clearly hobbled by poor management. As for the kitchen, if you want to tackle strict vegan cuisine, a lot more work is needed.
Fantastic delicious food. Kimchi hot pot was perfectly spiced - very satisfying. The mushroom ravioli was a big hit as were the greens. We had all the desserts - fig beignets!!
First time at Fig + Farro. My wife and I arrived at 6:30pm. Ordered an appetizer AND entree’s approximately at 6:40pm. Received appetizers at 6:55pm.
AT 7:50PM,Yes, over an hour from when we ordered, ANOTHER WAITER, not our waitress, comes over and apologizes for the delay in bringing the entree’s and that it would be ready shortly. That could have been another 5 or 10 minutes more. Who knows, but we didn’t wait around to find out and left.
For entree’s my wife ordered the ravioli and I ordered the “special” which was the lasagna. Apparently it was the “SPECIAL” that was taking so long. How do you have a “special” that takes over an hour to serve???
Also, why we were waiting, our waitress said she would get me another lemonade and she brought it about 15 minutes later and never mentioned why it was taking so long to get the entrees.
The wait would have been more tolerable if our waitress would have checked on us and explained that they were having a delay or offered us the opportunity to purchase another appetizer. But to say nothing and leave us and other patrons wondering and waiting just ruined the entire evening.
It’s unfortunate that the wait staff and management doesn’t know how OR aren’t concerned with keeping customers satisfied in a moment like this. As one of the few vegan restaurants in the twin cities we really had high expectations for this place. This was our first time at Fig + Farro and most likely will be our last. To leave us and other customers waiting this long with no acknowledgement or explanation of what’s going on doesn’t give me a sense of confidence that they will be concerned if something like this happened again.
Amazing and delicious!
Wonderful staff! Food is unique & delicious & creatively presented.
Great food and atmosphere - not so great service.
After a so-so experience this fall, my husband and I decided to give Fig and Farro another try. The menu is diverse, the food delicious but they just don't have the service part down. We had a reservation and were seated immediately but then we waited about 15 minutes before our server showed up to take drink orders and then we waited another 15 minutes for the beverages to come.
Our food was delicious, we ordered the hot eggplant small plate and said we wanted it as an appetizer. Our server seemed to disappear and after another wait, the appetizer and food showed up - at the same time, needless to say, we were less than thrilled.
I had the mushroom ravioli and husband had the jackfruit dish - both were excellent as was the hot eggplant. I had to flag the server down to get a second glass of wine and when he brought the check he mumbled something about the mixup in the kitchen with the food. Would have been nice to offer us a complimentary cup of coffee or a dessert - but no.
In the future, I think we will order food from here and pick it up - the service doesn't justify the time.
Really a very lovely place. Staff is friendly and attentive. They have a really fantastic space for kids to play in. The only complaint is the food seems overpriced for what you get. I guess it's on par with other places in the area. The food was okay. I will come back with a larger group so we can try many options. I'm hoping what I chose was just not their best offering.
There were 5 of us and we ordered several different entree's (the pasta special, the mushroom ravioli, and the Barbacoa) as well as a couple of small plates . Everything was delicious! Two of the people in our party are Vegan, the rest of us are not and we all enjoyed everything we ate. The fried cauliflower is a must have! We will definitely go back. The service was great as well!
Who know vegan food could be so flavorful? Plus it was a lovely presentation.
Excellent food, friendly personal service
I’m not a vegan but I loved the food here.
Look, I get it. It’s December 23rd and your restaurant is mostly empty. But that should mean we get BETTER service, not worse. We waited 10-30 min every single step of the way. When we wanted our check, we stared at our server as he lounged in a booth playing on his phone. Our drinks were barely made (missing things listed on the menu) and our experience overall was really bad. It was my best friend’s 30th birthday and we just felt ignored.
Half the desserts were unavailable. One of the seven or so entrees was unavailable. I was so disappointed. We honestly thought about leaving after we were sitting at our table for 15 min, no server in sight, nothing ordered yet, and we probably should have just left.
Our entire experience for brunch at Fig and Farro was spectacular. My husband and I enjoy trying the numerous, plant-based restaurants in the twin cities area, and this one was top of the list. I had the flannel hash, followed by the coconut tart and both were delicious. I also had the best tea I have ever tasted. It was Rishi peppermint sage, and I ordered a 50 sachet box from the Rishi website after I got home!
I was incredibly impressed with our experience. Great service awesome waiter and amazing food.
Went to my daughter's birthday celebration - she's vegan. She loved it. I liked the appetizer and dessert but my entree wasn't anything to write home about especially for the price. My husband HATED it, he said the only good thing he had was his mixed drink he ordered - which he did say was really good. We didn't get any "Happy Birthday" song or desert like you do at most restaurants - which really disappointed me. I'm glad we went because my daughter liked it, but I won't be back.
First time here; the atmosphere is very chill and relaxing. The color palette of decor is the same! I’m not vegan/vegetarian so I was excited to try something new - had the iced coffee (delish!!) and the blueberry cinnamon roll to start - that roll is to die for. Seriously. Then had the Meh. as an entree - also delicious!
Heard there was a new chef - went with friends and we were all blown away. Delicious starters - rapini, fried cauliflower. Polenta with muhammura sauce then mushroom ravioli. Everything was seriously delicious.
We didn’t have room for dessert - next time.
Great service, creative vegan food, cool location! Everything from appetizers to dessert to the wines were very satisfying.
The food was really good, as well as the service. I highly recommend going there.
Delicious plant-based food! Loved everything we tried. And kombucha champagne?!!! So great
Service was incredibly slow even through there was barely anyone there. The drinks (wine) took absolutely forever and the food tasted like mush. The decor was cute, hopefully they can turn things around
I'm vegetarian not vegan. I thought the food was tasteless. I was there for brunch and felt like there was very little variety. One person dining with me wanted a salad. No salad option on the menu. They agreed to offer her a salad from the dinner menu. I will not go back.
Fig & Farro is one of our favorite restaurants we love the food and the staff is awesome we love them
Jackfruit Barbados was soooo good, and the restaurant is beautiful
First time visiting and will definitely be back. The entire experience was great. The overall aesthetic of the restaurant is very well done. The service was great, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Can't recommend highly enough.
Pure joy. The food was amazing. We had their wild mushroom ravioli and the dish was delicious. We also ~ on accident ~ ordered their dessert sampler.....we expected to receive bite size portions but we did receive was 3 very healthy, very large desserts. Their brownie was made from black beans and the taste was heaven. We will be back!
Amazing plant based comfort food.
Friendly and attentive staff.
Interesting new vegan only menu which overall was tasty and a bit creative. There wine and beer selection isn't anything to speak of but they only charged $15 for opening a bottle that we brought ourselves. The space is nice, was there for a nice date night with your partner. The service was ultra slow but we weren't in a hurry so it was fine with us. The biggest downside was the black bean brownie for dessert...not good at all, but their boozy latte was really good!
Friends who enjoy vegetarian ordered several items from the very limited menu. Polenta side was the only one we agreed was quite good. Skip the bland overlooked greens. Jackfruit Barbacoa ruined by excessive cumin.
Excellent service - because it was so slow at prime dinner time Saturday.
Would love to endorse this place & Would try it one more time - maybe the pasta is better - but the value for price is just no there.
Pretty good. Way too much garlic in the hot dip.
I have heard good things and was excited to try Fig & Farro. I liked hearing they had converted to all vegan dishes. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the experience. Overall a combination of factors led to this take away - the recommended squash dish was cooked unevenly - with larger cuts not completely cooked, the menu promised a Friday Friends & Family deal that we were told "hadn't started yet", the server didn't provide new plates between our rounds of dishes until asked (my table was sharing), no spoons provided to gather savory sauces, and I was never asked if I wanted a second beverage. I really expected more from the price point and vibe of this restaurant, and based on this experience I wouldn't go back or recommend with the wide array of options in Minneapolis.
Went here for Sunday Brunch, it was quiet. It could have been because the Vikings were playing and it was raining out, or that Calhoun Square does not have a lot of traffic. The food was good, the service was okay, Nick was pleasant enough, but had to ask for more coffee a couple of times, and he was a little absent from the table. We wanted to have a relaxing brunch, but would have liked another cocktail. Will probably revisit as the food was good and liked the atmosphere.
Fabulous ambiance with delicious food and beverage offerings. Vegetarian dishes that are way better than any meat dish I have had!
The service was friendly and attentive. The paneer and tamale appetizer we're amazing! The yucca dumplings we're good, but I would probably try something different next time. Coming back with the kiddos because they have a play room with activities for them.
Great food and great service. We went before going to the orchestra. Our waitress even borrowed me a phone charger so we could GPS directions to the theater. Amazing ravioli!
