Fiasco & Claret Wine Bar
The menu is seasonally inspired and bold in flavor. House made Vodka Battered Calamari, Prosciutto Bruschetta and our Chunky Avocado salad are just some of the features in our shareable category. Main plates include the house favorites; Lamb Osso Bucco, Grilled Chicken Piccata and Basil Pesto Fusili. We serve lunch and dinner during the week and feature an Italian brunch menu on the weekends.
Drink offerings were developed by Bar Manager, Phillip Thompson, and Wine Director, Chris Horn; and will feature a wide assortment of spirits, cocktails, wine and beer.
Really quite good, albeit with a menu that's on the simpler side (focused on pizzas, pasta and a few entre dishes). In this case, presuming that your vision of an Italian meal fits into this vision, you won't be disappointed, with everything from roast garlic baguette to a gem lettuce salad to Uncle Vinn's calzones being tasty and we'll executed. The wait staff had to run a bit to service the Friday night crowd, but they are hard working and well trained. The Zeppoli (hot doughnuts) were a nice dessert offering though I would have opted for a minute more in the fryer to develop the crust and finish the unctuous insides.
The ambiance is 'neighborhood-industrial' and the volume is medium-high. Worthy on mention is the wine selection provided by the attached wine bar (Claret). The selection is well curated, with decent values and a dual price on every bottle, depending on whether you buy to drink there or take away.
Fiasco may not send your foodie friends into rapture, but they'll appreciate the execution and hipster-friendly vibe. You should check it out.
Great central location to meet friends/family coming from different neighborhoods in Seattle. The food was very good. I made a reservation through Open Table several days in advance and arrived about 30 minutes early. My husband and I said we could have a drink at the bar until the rest of our party showed up, but I could see it was early enough that the restaurant was pretty quiet. The host walked us back to the farthest corner of the restaurant, the table closest to the bathroom (really!) and asked it it was Ok. I waited for my husband to return to the table and he was so surprised to see me right outside the bathroom door! Needless to say, we asked to be relocated and reminded the host TWICE that we DID have a reservation. He seemed confused and I don’t get why they would place us in the back corner of the Claret Wine Bar. I asked if we could possibly sit in the main part of the restaurant, perhaps near the window, and he said he would check on that. Clearly 3 tables to accommodate our group size were wide open. It is a known practice that restaurants try to fill the least desirable tables first, to whoever will accept that location? Excuse me, but I happen to think a guest who plans in advance to dine there, as in one who makes a reservation, should be offered a better location than one who just walks in off the street.
Our waiter, Tristan, was amazing and friendly towards us the whole night. The food was great as well as the wine! Made for a perfect dinner!
We had to wait a long time to have our order taken. And again for the food to come. My husband loved his meatballs. My $25 seafood pasta was bland . For fine dining prices I was expecting much more. I would try again bit with a different dish choice. I am sad to complain but think honest feedback is important.
While I would recommend Fiasco - the service on Sunday, 2/16 was not great. The hostess was rude and non-communicative with guests - seeing groups of a similar size without reservations before groups that had reservations. It seemed like the wait staff was understaffed but instead of proactively getting ahead of customer frustration, they only apologized once it had been over 30 minutes between ordering and delivering food. The meal was delicious and the wait staff was friendly, but it was a very mixed experience.
I have come here a few times when it was Thackeray and liked it, but I didn’t find the brunch food as good as what it used to be this time. I had the sausage hash, it was not worth the price... our waitress was friendly and great.
Greeted by upbeat and friendly staff (Helen was just awesome!) and all of our needs were attentively cared for throughout our delicious meal.
Fiasco makes their guests' experience a top priority. The caccio e pepe perfectly prepared, the cozy lighting and decor sets the scene wonderfully, and our server visited regularly and waited for a break in conversation to ask us if there was anything he could bring to our table.
We lucked out this Valentine's Day, and we will absolutely be back.
Fiasco’s brunch is great!! Lots of options- there’s something for everyone, and it is an affordable spot! Everyone’s food was delicious and we split a pitcher of blood orange mimosas, yum! We were there for a birthday and they treated our birthday girl to some very nice treats! Will definitely be coming back to Fiasco soon!
This was a great place for a date with fantastic food and a big menu. The noise level made it hard to talk.
The food is outstanding and the service is awesome.
Very noisy. The duck was excellent, the chicken picatta was just ok. Our waitress and wine steward were charming and love the selection of wines.
Three of us went for dinner. The service is very good. Pasta and salad dishes were very good. The grilled chicken piccata was not. It had no flavor at all. Our waitress listened earnestly to our feedback and promptly took it off our bill. We will go again because we all agreed we enjoyed the experience.
Loved everything about this place!! Our server Eileen was excellent and helpful. Everyone's food was delicious and our desserts were great also. Highly recommend the fried chicken parmesan, cacio e Pepe, margherita pizza and the donuts for dessert. Can't wait to go back!
Referred from a friend who had a great experience and it was pretty great! Had pizza and salad with a pasta side and all were pretty delicious. Great cocktails and decent wine choices. Atmosphere had all types of groups. It was slightly louder, but can still talk easily with everyone with a full restaurant and price was great. I’ll be back!
We were in town to visit family and enjoyed a delicious dinner with great service!
Got together to celebrate 6 bdays of the 8 people at dinner on Saturday at 615p, with most of the tables empty. We ordered by 630, then waited 30 min for salads, and 30 more for entrees. IT TOOK AN HOUR TO GET ENTREES to the table, despite two manager promises that “they were on the way”! At most, the restaurant reached 60% full. They just couldn’t get the kitchen in gear. This is owned by the same company that owns Pablo y Pablo, where we’ve experienced similar “kitchen is slow” excuses before, and no longer have the tolerance to go. While they took some money off the bill at the end, Fiasco mgmt didn’t offer to buy drinks or bring bread or anything during the ridiculous wait. If this was Joey Kitchen in UVillage, the entire meal would’ve been comp’d, as their policy is to have NO customer leave with a bad flavor in their mouth.
My guests came to Fiasco on my suggestion, as I’ve had two good meals and experiences before, but I was embarrassed by the “fiasco”, which is too bad because the place is beautiful, convenient, not loud, and has so much potential. Unfortunately, I’m not sure why we would return.
Last minute lunch idea bought us to Fiasco. What a lovely surprise! The food was delicious! Not your everyday lunch place yet the prices were from your everyday lunch places! Exceptional quality for the price! The pastas and soups were amazing!
Great menu, hard to choose what to get because of so many great options. Everything we ordered was delicious!
This is our neighborhood "goto"... its familiar and delicious. The staff is incredible. We can't say enough about our Fiasco family. The brunch is our favorite!!!
wonderful wait staff. been here twice now.. bartender ben, we think that's his name, he's awesome and a true artist.. we go to the bar just to watch him make cool drinks.
Hosted brunch here for a large party and loved it. The food was delicious, creative, and the service was outstanding.
Our server was Sadie and she was friendly, attentive and fabulous. We were a party of 12, celebrating our son's engagement and everything about the evening was perfect. We've been to Fiasco many times - - and it never disappoints. The food, the staff, the atmosphere are all top notch. Thank you!
One of our favorite go-to’s in the neighborhood. Great drinks, meatballs, chicken piccata, chicken parm and sandwiches. Deep selection of wines by the glass and you can also select a bottle from the cellar and pay a corkage fee for a retail bottle.
We went for my birthday. The food was really good and the Service was outstanding!
Loved the avocado salad! Would love to have that recipe. It was a Sunday evening and there was not a lot of people in the restaurant which was perfect for a special time with my wife
Perfect from the moment we walked in. Our server was genius with wine offerings... thanks a million! Cheers, RC
My son’s birthday dinner was outstanding! Mostly due to Angela waiting our table. She went beyond to make us feel comfortable and see that our experience was fabulous!
The food was just heavenly!! Can’t wait to go back and try more ...And the service was genuine and gracious.
Claret is a hidden gem!
My boyfriend and I went for a Friday dinner and were happily surprised by this fun spot. Our waitress knew a lot about the menu, and was quite wordy when explaining things, but she was also very attentive and gave us the perfect amount of space to enjoy our meal. The food was great, we both agreed that the gnocchi was the best we have ever tried. Seriously— if you love gnocchi, you will be mind blown by their take on this classic dish. Overall, a great experience. We will be back again!
Wonderful food, great ambiance, consistent, delicious food. Love the hospitality. Decent prices-not cheap but reasonable.
Really disappointed, highly suggest you skip Fiasco. It was incredibly loud and so dark - even our 8 year old commented on it, and people were using their candles/phones to try and see.
Our food was mediocre at best - the calamari was not edible. There was so much salt and breading that’s you couldn’t even tell there was squid. The pumpkin risotto was ok, nothing special. The server was lovely but not a reason to spend $150 on dinner on a random Thursday night.
Save your $ or go spend it at San Fermo or one of the many other options nearby.
Angie was fabulous and took care of all special requests made by our kids effortlessly! I have allergies and food restrictions and they are very knowledgeable and accommodating. The food was and always is outstanding!! Our family always looks forward to a night at Fiasco.
Food was a very mixed bag. Bruschetta was good but the bread brought to the table to have with olive oil was very dry. Gem salad was great. Lamb entree was mediocre, chicken piccata was good but almost cold and bucatini dish was very spicy. Ordered dessert as well. Pumpkin gelato was good but they forgot to provide the sauce that was supposed to come with it till we asked. Good service but our waiter was the bartender so he was at times needed elsewhere; that said it was quite quiet there.
Amazing service!!! Go on a Monday for pizza deals or Wednesday for wine deals!
Really good food and very accommodating for you kids
Worst Gnocchi I’ve ever had, over cooked mush. Chicken Piccata had good flavor but chicken was dry.. Melon and prosciutto appetizer had hard unripe melon and very little meat. The interior ambience of this restaurant was nice but every dish we ordered was sub par.
Friend and I went to experience the Seattle Restaurant Week menu. For lunch, the original offering is only for 2 courses, but the server offered dessert (third course) as an option for an additional fee. Since we knew that we wouldn't be able to come back, we took advantage. Food was delicious and satiating. I ordered pumpkin bisque, chicken parmesan linguini, and chocolate truffles. The food gave a fall and comfort food vibe. Overall the restaurant was nice, food was delicious, and we would consider going back again, maybe next time to take advantage of the actual wine bar.
I have been to both Claret and Fiasco on two separate occassions and enjoyed my experience on the Claret side doing wine tastings and felt the product was worth the price ambiance was great- a great place to grab chill drinks with out of town visitors or post work drinks. However, Fiasco food is tastes fine, but definitely not worth the over $100 spent on two personal pizzas and toast appetizer that we bought. You can find the same food in Moscow, ID for half the price tag.
Once again, had an excellent experience. I love that there are enough vegetarian and vegan items to choose from—and they are always happy to customize things a bit. It’s a bit loud, but I don’t mind that—it’s like dining in a cozy cave in the evening.
