Fete: OMG! This place is truly legit. Our first visit here and we were beyond pleased with everything. Service/staff/food, every aspect was so "on point". Josh (our server) was very attentive. He helped us by being so easy to talk to and gave us some recommendations. Chuck (owner), who was working the front of house, greeted us with a warm welcome and smile.. He also stopped by our table check on us. Such a nice personal touch.
Everything was sooooo good, we will definitely need to come back to try more.
We loved our dinner at Fete this week. The staff were all so welcoming, and it truly was the best meal we had in Hawaii in our entire 2 and 1/2 week visit across Kauai, Maui and Oahu. Prawns with toasted coconut and lime leaves were spectacular - so fragrant and delicious! Gyoza with foie gras and loquat jam were lovely. For dessert, we shared a single scoop of Rocky Road to Hana ice cream, a rich chocolate perfect finish.
Phenomenal onsga with Okinawan sweet potato and amazing Goji marinated roasted chicken!!!
Excellent service and very knowledgeable staff. The toast & spreads, pasta bento and quinoa burger were all amazing!
We sat at "chef's table", a counter overlooking the cooking and prep area.
Everyone was delightful, really interesting and friending. Happy to share knowledge about the food and the restaurant biz.
Meal, ambiance, service, and being near people who clearly enjoyed their work provided an outstanding experience. By far best meal we had in 7 days on O'ahu.
Fresh, delicious & locally sourced ingredients prepared with care and flair. Do try the olive oil cake & ice cream -- outrageously delicious.
Fête never disappoints. The atmosphere is always very convivial -- we're all so glad to be there, knowing what's in store. The employees could not be more charming, helpful, knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful and efficient. I hope the owners appreciate their outstanding employees!
The food is so good, I'm always sorry when I've cleaned every morsel. The recipes are extremely creative, all sourced with local ingredients, which is environmentally responsible. Visually, each dish is stunning, rivaling Hy's Steak House, La Mer, and every other fine dining establishment -- I've dined at them all!
Do yourself a huge favor and save room for dessert! The creativity is on full display on the dessert menu. I give them an A+ for their creative, superb desserts!
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to you!!
My only complaint... is that it's rather noisy, exacerbated by a robust sound system. The music selections are very pleasant, but between that and the acoustical properties of the place, it's quite loud. We older Americans find that less desirable than younger folks, who don't seem to mind if it's a bit boisterous. I still give them 10/10 and will definitely be dining there many times in the future!
Fete is one of our favorite restaurants. We took friends visiting from the mainland and they enjoyed their meals. There was an issue with my dinner, but the manager did everything in his power to make it right. It is clear that they care about their guests and the quality of the meals served. We plan to return.
We were seated upstairs Waited a super long time for food
Excellent food although pricey
From the moment we walked in I knew I was going to love it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with a cozy vibe. The drink menu was inventive and what we chose was delicious. We had three different appetizers and two entree’s, all were fantastic. The flavor combos were explosive, all cooked to perfection. This was the exact dining experience I was looking for!
We sat at the counter and watched the amazing kitchen crew prepare dish after dish of deliciousness, all calm organized and happy. It was a great evening.
The menu was extremely innovative, and everything I ordered was absolutely perfectly pleasing and palatable. The service was top notch -- I felt pampered. The specials were incredibly creative and delicious. Can't wait to go there again!
Great dining experience. Our server was the best!
Very accommodating for our very large party. Thank you!
What a great place for a super yummy meal. We were seated right away at a cozy two-top. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu (except of the heat of the lamb sausage in the pasta dish, but she apologized and made up for it). Cocktails were creative; food was absolutely delicious.
My wife and I feel that we are the Ambassadors for Fete. For us it’s the quintessential restaurant on the Hawaiian Islands. Why? It’s the most balanced restaurant. That sounds boring but the reason for this is that there is not one negative to be said about Fete. It’s like a great wine; every level is in equilibrium. Greeting: total Aloha spirit. Comfort; relaxing setting with plenty of room. The bar is a mixologist bar where locals and tourists eat, drink and converse. The wine list( we are former Wine Educators from NYC)and Fête has the best one on any of the Hawaiian Islands. The Staff should be cloned and sold to any new and up and coming restaurant. They talk the food and wine as if they made each dish and wine. And the food:some of the most creative and imaginative you can find outside of Greenpoint/Brooklyn NY. Getting back to the Ambassador thing. Three years ago we lost one of our favorite restaurants on Oahu, Grondin and we were heart broken. We would be devastated if that happened to Fete. It’s basically packed every night and reservations are not that easy to come by. So we feel semi confident. But who knows, so come and have a gastronomic Fete!
The food is always delicious and service was impeccable.
It can get a little noisy if it is filled but what restaurant doesn’t.
Always a great experience.
Absolutely non pretentious place and yet everything was executed with so much class. From appetizers to dessert & drinks, a must stop for every food lover. Definitely an address not highlighted enough on Eater’s list. It is in mine and I’ll spread the word around me. Mahalo
I love their food and have been there multiple times. This last experience was not favorable. Our food took 45 min and we were on our lunch hour. I told the hostess who I think is the owner that we were waiting very long.
No apologies made by the waiter or owner . It would’ve been nice to at least get an apology on their tardiness. I was very disappointed.
Have to say - this is the BEST restaurant in all of Hawai'i, including the famous chefs, the big resorts, everything! Had dinner there two nights ago. We both started with Beef Tartare. Chef hit every note necessary for a perfect tartare. I followed with the carbonara - made the right way with no milk or cream, just egg yolks and the absolutely wonderful addition of slab bacon and Portuguese sausage. My partner ordered one of the specials that night and changed his feeling about ordering chicken for all time. It had duxelles under the crispy skin and was accompanied with a perfectly seared piece of fois gras. Best dinner we have had in the three months we've been in Hawai'i this season. Thank you, Fete!
Service wasn’t great- they were not very attentive. Also the food took over an hour to come to our table. One of our orders never came out. When the check came we we charged for a much more expensive bottle of wine than we had ordered. Food was good but because of the service I’m not sure when we will be back
We were seated in the Library.
Much more quieter than the dining room. Great service from Sara.
Dining at Fete is a must whenever we are visiting Honolulu.
Good was great, service was excellent. We’ll definitely be back.
We made reservations for Valentine's Day, which had a separate menu. We were seated in the owner's private library. The food and ambiance were amazing.
Valentines Day. Always a challenge for a restaurant. The food was very good. The place was packed but the servers did the best they could. We enjoyed the dinner!
We went to Fete on Valentine’s Day. We were not aware when we made the reservation that it was a set 3 course meal at $75 each person. Had we know earlier on, we would have changed days. Still, we chose to stay, because we had a $75 gift certificate and we were leaving Hawaii the next day. When we arrived we were led by the owner to an upstairs room at the back of the building called the library. It was dreary with very cold air conditioning and extremely unpleasant. We were the only people in the room, and we were not impressed. I could have understood if the main restaurant was full, but this was at 5:00 pm, and there were only a few people in the entire restaurant. When I am spending this much on a nice meal, I want the ambience. After telling the waitress we wanted to move, she immediately led us back to the main area to speak with the owner. He turned his back to us, spoke with her, and then, pointed towards a few tables for us to choose from. At no time did he acknowledge us. It soured the evening for us. The food we had, however, was excellent. You could order either the chicken, a choice of two different lasagnas ( odd for a pricey meal), New York strip or scallops. We had the scallops and loved them. In fact we enjoyed all three courses. Our server was wonderful and she made it more enjoyable. We will however not go back again because of the owner.
I was here for lunch with a friend that has never been here.
We both ordered different pastas. I had the ravioli, which was
wonderful and he had the carbonara. That too was really good.
The best was the dessert! We had the Olive cake and that
was a winner. Would go back just for this cake. It was light
and had orange zest in it. The vanilla ice cream served with it
was also very good. I would recommend this place
to everyone. Great service and great food. What more can you ask for?
This may have been one of my worst dinning experiences ever. We were seated up in the library and completely forgotten about throughout the night. The appetizers came out cold... the mains courses came out cold... and we had to walk down stairs to get our bill. I have eaten at this establishment several times, but I think this may have been the last!!!
Fantastic food and service. As two people who are visiting Oahu, the cuisine and ambience at Fête were a nice departure from the more traditional aesthetics we experienced at restaurants in the nicer hotels around Waikiki. The staff was great, the food was delicious, and the drinks were incredibly well executed. We might even go back before we return home.
This was a great restaurant. From the drinks to the amazing food it was a place we will definitely be going back to time and time again.
One of our favorite Chinatown spots. Food is excellent and service is great.
Server was Katy. She was great! Served 7 of us. One with several allergies. Good news....she left breathing! Food was terrific. Special Fête bbq ribs, octopus, beets, Red Snapper, Carbonara to name a few.
We looked forward to lunch at Fete, but found it a bit disappointing. Food was well presented but took a while to get to the table, and was a mixed bag. Most disappointing was the steak frites entree. The steak was surprisingly tough and dry. Was unfortunately only able to eat a few pieces. Not what we expected from a restaurant that has received so many good reviews.
Last nite of vacation, we all enjoyed our dinners, great server and ambiance.
Fete is consistently great. Food, drinks, and service are always fantastic.
The vegan special I had was amazing, tasteful, satisfying and beautiful presentation.
The food was disappointing. The Pulto was extremely mushy and cold. It had almost no flavor. The $38.00 fish special was over cooked. Very disappointing.
