Have to say - this is the BEST restaurant in all of Hawai'i, including the famous chefs, the big resorts, everything! Had dinner there two nights ago. We both started with Beef Tartare. Chef hit every note necessary for a perfect tartare. I followed with the carbonara - made the right way with no milk or cream, just egg yolks and the absolutely wonderful addition of slab bacon and Portuguese sausage. My partner ordered one of the specials that night and changed his feeling about ordering chicken for all time. It had duxelles under the crispy skin and was accompanied with a perfectly seared piece of fois gras. Best dinner we have had in the three months we've been in Hawai'i this season. Thank you, Fete!
We were seated in the Library.
Much more quieter than the dining room. Great service from Sara.
Good was great, service was excellent. We’ll definitely be back.
We made reservations for Valentine's Day, which had a separate menu. We were seated in the owner's private library. The food and ambiance were amazing.
Valentines Day. Always a challenge for a restaurant. The food was very good. The place was packed but the servers did the best they could. We enjoyed the dinner!
We went to Fete on Valentine’s Day. We were not aware when we made the reservation that it was a set 3 course meal at $75 each person. Had we know earlier on, we would have changed days. Still, we chose to stay, because we had a $75 gift certificate and we were leaving Hawaii the next day. When we arrived we were led by the owner to an upstairs room at the back of the building called the library. It was dreary with very cold air conditioning and extremely unpleasant. We were the only people in the room, and we were not impressed. I could have understood if the main restaurant was full, but this was at 5:00 pm, and there were only a few people in the entire restaurant. When I am spending this much on a nice meal, I want the ambience. After telling the waitress we wanted to move, she immediately led us back to the main area to speak with the owner. He turned his back to us, spoke with her, and then, pointed towards a few tables for us to choose from. At no time did he acknowledge us. It soured the evening for us. The food we had, however, was excellent. You could order either the chicken, a choice of two different lasagnas ( odd for a pricey meal), New York strip or scallops. We had the scallops and loved them. In fact we enjoyed all three courses. Our server was wonderful and she made it more enjoyable. We will however not go back again because of the owner.
I was here for lunch with a friend that has never been here.
We both ordered different pastas. I had the ravioli, which was
wonderful and he had the carbonara. That too was really good.
The best was the dessert! We had the Olive cake and that
was a winner. Would go back just for this cake. It was light
and had orange zest in it. The vanilla ice cream served with it
was also very good. I would recommend this place
to everyone. Great service and great food. What more can you ask for?
This may have been one of my worst dinning experiences ever. We were seated up in the library and completely forgotten about throughout the night. The appetizers came out cold... the mains courses came out cold... and we had to walk down stairs to get our bill. I have eaten at this establishment several times, but I think this may have been the last!!!
Fantastic food and service. As two people who are visiting Oahu, the cuisine and ambience at Fête were a nice departure from the more traditional aesthetics we experienced at restaurants in the nicer hotels around Waikiki. The staff was great, the food was delicious, and the drinks were incredibly well executed. We might even go back before we return home.
This was a great restaurant. From the drinks to the amazing food it was a place we will definitely be going back to time and time again.
One of our favorite Chinatown spots. Food is excellent and service is great.
Server was Katy. She was great! Served 7 of us. One with several allergies. Good news....she left breathing! Food was terrific. Special Fête bbq ribs, octopus, beets, Red Snapper, Carbonara to name a few.
We looked forward to lunch at Fete, but found it a bit disappointing. Food was well presented but took a while to get to the table, and was a mixed bag. Most disappointing was the steak frites entree. The steak was surprisingly tough and dry. Was unfortunately only able to eat a few pieces. Not what we expected from a restaurant that has received so many good reviews.
Last nite of vacation, we all enjoyed our dinners, great server and ambiance.
Fete is consistently great. Food, drinks, and service are always fantastic.
The vegan special I had was amazing, tasteful, satisfying and beautiful presentation.
The food was disappointing. The Pulto was extremely mushy and cold. It had almost no flavor. The $38.00 fish special was over cooked. Very disappointing.
Put our party of 5 upstairs no ambiance
It was okay. Nothing special about this place. Friendly staffs!
We decided to sit at the bar and have pupus - really enjoyed the crab cake toast
Chinese New Years in Honolulu Chinatown and where to eat. Most restaurants are empty but Fete as usual is packed . Chuck and Robyn have injected their New York culinary philosophy into Fete. An aloha greeting. A packed restaurant. The best wine list per food on the Hawaiian Islands and a menu that fits everyone’s desires. Last night after viewing Lion Dances etc. we had another of our many dinners at Fete.
Fete is the only restaurant on any of the Hawaiian Islands that have East Coast Oysters flown in once a week. My wife and I will only imbibe in the salty, cucumberush bivalves. Perfectly shucked and awesome. Then we had Crab Toast, Breadshop semolina, Thai basil, lemon grass, chimichurri, lilikoi sweet chile sauce. Then a newbie: Pasta Vongole with buttery clam broth, east coast little neck clams, herb sauce and grilled bread. I’m not going to mention the unbelievable, affordable French Rose that worked perfectly. Not sure how many are available.
Food was amazing as always!
Overall it was a good experience.
Ordered the salad and pasta combo.
The salad was delicious, however, the carbonara pasta was just too salty.
I'll try a different pasta next time.
Service as always was excellent!
Very attentive staff and the food was outstanding.
Wonderful people and food!
The food was delicious!!! Fresh, flavorful and the presentation was impressive. Beyond that, the decor is great, very modern and clean and the cherry on top was the service. Our server was knowledgable, calm and attentive. The manager also made sure we had drinks as we waited to be seated. 5 stars! We will be back!
The team at Fête never disappoints. We had our seat at the counter looking right in to the kitchen; we got to see where the magic happens. My wife and I each ordered and cocktail, appetizer, entree and dessert and absolutely LOVED every last bit. Thank you Chuck and team for such an amazing experience and we look forward to dining with you folks in the future!
My boyfriend and I went for dinner after having a great experience at lunch service. We enjoyed everything about our experience except for how close the tables were to each other. It was hard to maneuver to get to the restroom and it seemed hard for staff as well to get around with plates and drinks. Otherwise, food and drinks were excellent. We’d definitely come again.
The restaurant itself is in a cute location, very close to the Hawaii theatre. My friend and I went before our show, and our server was very kind and attentive. She even offered up recommendations which we took when we ordered our meals. It didn’t disappoint and I look forward to going back again soon!
We were quite disappointed by this dining experience. The quality of the food did not match up to our past experience, everything was just fine. Service was awful, we specifically requested a table, not bar seating, as it was my husbands birthday celebration. We took a later reservation so that we could have table service, when we arrived we were seated at the bar anyway. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table to open up and then were seated without menus and ignored by waitstaff. The hostess finally came over and took our order and then left for the night and the wait staff continued to ignore us for the remainder of the meal.
One of the best meals we've had in a while. We reserved bar seating as that was one of the choices on the app. No regrets, the bartender was great! Sorry we didn't get his name.
Fête is for my money, the best restaurant on Oahu. Alan Wong's, Chef Mavro's, and a handful of other Honolulu restaurants offer amazing cuisine and service, but they are super expensive. Robyn Mai'i the chef/owner of Fête is a talented chef, producing consistently good, innovative dishes from freshly sourced local products. Even the wine list is well thought out with wines you won't find elsewhere on the island. I give this restaurant the strongest possible recommendation.
Qualitativ hochwertige Speisen. Es war sehr laut in dem Restaurant. Reservation wird empfohlen.
Excellent menu. We sat at the bar, but it was spacious and the bar staff were incredibly attentive. The fete toasts and smoked beet salad with whipped gorgonzola were delicious. The Meyer lemon gnocchi were a touch under, but also tasty. The restaurant has an East Coast feel and ambience in the middle of paradise. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back!
Hostess could have been more present in her duties, but everything else was excellent.
Loud and slower service. Neither waiter was engaging. Food was very good
