A hidden gem in Hartford, CT. Food and customer service goes beyond expectation s. Happy hour a must! Worth every dollar spent.
The braised chicken was delicious and my husband got the boneless New York strip. Though not the best he's every had it was amazing. If you're used to the old Feng you'll be surprised by the price tags and the fact you can't your favorite specialty rolls.
Sceptical, but our waiter and exceptional quality of food has won our stamp of approval and when visiting Trinity again this will become a staple.
A little pricy, but really delicious! Very knowledgeable about the sushi.
We enjoyed the meal immensely. Our server was fun and did a great job. If I were looking to pick nits, I would point out that there were no plates on the table when the food arrived and that when plates arrived, brought by a male second server, they were meant for appetizers and not the main course. Overall, though, I was impressed by the food and overall dining experience.
BEST SUSHI I HAVE EVER HAD.
My friends and I return as much as possible.
Definitely try the Sea Eel Avocado! It literally melts in your mouth.
Their Mocktails are hidden gems too.
Our visit was on a Friday evening for a special birthday celebration. The ambiance is very upscale. Our server Jared was excellent and very knowledgeable! He suggested wine and food selections of which we ordered and thoroughly enjoyed! The Otoro Caviar appetizer was absolutely incredible! We had the Chef's selection of Nigiri, which was presented by the Chef himself. We thought that was a wonderful touch. The food was amazing! Jared even put a candle in our delicious baked apple dessert and sang happy birthday to top off a lovely culinary experience. We highly recommend Feng to everyone!
Wonderful food, service and overall experience. We plan on returning and will suggest it to friends and family.
The food and service are amazing. Best food - so delicious!!
I went with a coworker for lunch. Love the atmosphere! Food and service was excellent! Highly recommend this place!!
had been a regular and amassed a lot of points at Feng Canton, when closed they told me my points would automatically transfer to the Feng Chophouse. Went there this week, owner wasn't there and they told me my points are in the system, but they have no way letting me use them???
Sushi portions way over priced compared to Feng Canton
Great Service and Excellent Food. Unique menu and use of ingredients for interesting dishes.
Surreal dining experience. Walking into Feng was like walking into a another world. Chic decor, intimate service, and food that dazzled the tastebuds. Would absolutely recommend for a special occasion, celebration, or if you’re looking for something different. The nigiri is a must-have!
We came to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday, and we really enjoyed everything. The food was delicious and Nora's service was impeccable. Best of all, our daughter was thrilled with everything. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
We have already recommended this restaurant to a few of our "foodie" friends. They authentic Nigiri and aged beef are exceptionally good. Our waiter took time to explain the subtleties of the menu, gave us a tour of the salt room, and helped us to make our selections. Our only regret is that we did not allow enough time to thoroughly enjoy the experience. We will be back!
At first I thought the menu was a bit pricey. But when the food came it was well worth it. I will definitely be going back.
From the espresso martini to the Strip Steak the experience was fantastic. Great service, great food. Will definitely eat here again.
As previous diners of Feng, we were looking forward to trying the new Feng Chophouse.
Did not disappoint. Incredible culinary experience with impeccable and knowledgeable service and attention to detail. Experienced both the nigiri/sushi and dry aged steak. Great wine selection as well.
We are looking forward to our next reservation.
The food was excellent—Korean shortribs and Chilean sea bass. However, I prefer old menu and sushi selections.
Erin, our waitress, was outstanding and guided us through the menu, which is complex and overly broad. The duck and foie gras dumplings we started with were out of this world, as were the cocktails we ordered, particulary the Dragonfruit Mojito. The nigiri style sushi was outstanding, as were the hand rolls we ordered which they were able to serve to us maki style. Our only complaint was that after a $170 dinner, we were still hungry. We will definitely come back, but only if we've had a large lunch. I miss the old Feng!
The Nigiri sushi was amazing! And Yam with Foie Gras butter was deeelicious!. The Bacon Fried rice was very yummy!
It's a little expensive but worth it. The sushi is ridiculously good, the steaks are awesome, and I can't say enough good things about the people who work here. If cost is a concern, go before 6 and sit in the bar for happy hour and get some amazing deals on the sushi and food.
The Kimchi rice alone is worth the trip. Just get it.
They over cooked my meal made me wait another 25 minutes for a new one while my family ate. I had to take it to go and they still charged me for it. Poor customer service.
Food and service was great however pricing is a little steep. It was also a little disheartening to learn that none of the old sushi rolls are available anymore either. Expect to spend at least $100 for a dinner for 2.
Great new menu and exquisite remodeling...beautiful place, food was wonderful, excellent service.
Special meal all around. It’s pricey to be sure, but worth every bite. Sushi, salads, fish entree, sake and dessert were all A+!
Amazing food and service
The food and vibe are immensely better after the renovation. They have ruined sushi at other places for me now considering how delicious and fresh their selections are now! -M
The food was amazing - we got the duck foie gras dumplings, bok choi and crispy mushrooms, bacon fried rice, and one of their aged steaks. Everything we had was amazing.
Recently renovated, significantly more upscale than previously. Food and service was excellent!
Great experience. Staff was very friendly. Chef went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. Manager Drew was very personable and made sure the dining experience was enjoyable. Will return and will recommend.
Interior looks great. The service was very good. Food different but varied and very tasty. Nice.
Me and My entire office were great fans of the old Feng . In particular- we loved their sushi and sashimi. We particularly liked their special rolls. Now that they have rebranded as a chophouse - their menu and prices are no longer something that any of us will come back for. It’s a real shame! I mentioned that to our waiter and he didn’t seem to care. We will not be back.
Feng Asian Bistro was my favorite restaurant for years. Anytime a colleague suggested lunch, I always suggested Feng. However, that restaurant closed about 3 years ago. The vast majority of these reviews are for the old restaurant. The name has changed and so has the menu. The prices are also much higher. I was so disappointed in the very limited lunch menu. Alas, my favorite restaurant is no more. I likely will not return. Service was great.
Excellent sushi, good sushi, very slow service even though they were informed at the time of reservation and when we were seated that we had nearby theater tickets - 90 min should have been sufficient. Unfortunately we only had 10 min to eat
Unfortunately, they just re-opened and do not yet have their act together. The food was quite good. The server was very nice, but service was incompetent. Multiple people delivered the food without our requests satisfied (salad dressing on the side, split the salad, etc.) Salad and warm appetizers arrived at the same time. We asked to have our unfinished meal "to go." The server thought that meant to go from the table so she threw it out. They eventually made good on the order, but it took a while for them to decide what to do. Checkout delay was unconscionable (10 minutes after they took my credit card). Feng points system was "not set up yet," so I lost the frequent diner points.
I love Ginza and had also thoroughly enjoyed Feng before this latest upgrade. Perhaps their service will improve over time, but I would recommend that a potential diner postpone going there until they have a chance to improve on their customer service.
We selected Feng Asian Bistro due to its high rating on social media, and that a friend had recently went there and liked it very much. I would have to agree with both sources of info; this is a fantastic place. We had Edamame with Hawaiian Black Salt. Of the dozens of edamame varieties I have eaten over the years, this was one of the best. The beans boiled to perfection, too. The Kumamoto oysters were also delicious. The ponzu/hot sauce on them were perfect and I felt I didn't need to additionally squirt lemon on them (as the ponzu is quite citrusy already). We had a sushi and a sashimi platter for the main courses. While I felt the quantity of sashimi pieces were less than I expected, the dish made up for it with top quality cuts. Also, absolutely perfectly sized pieces. Not too thin nor too thick. My wife, who is Japanese, liked the taste, texture and size of the sushi rice on her nigiri pieces.
The selection of alcohol was also good. I drank prosecco, and wished I had ordered to bottle rather than go through 4 glasses. Normally, I drink 1 or 2 proseccos before moving to beer...
Since it was my birthday, they gave us a free dessert, and it was so good we went ahead and ordered a 2nd dessert even though we were full.
It was a slow night (Thursday), but the staff was kind and attentive, with everyone offering greetings both coming and going. I feel one would get the same amount of attention even on a busy night.
Dinners were good. Service was was pretty good but left menus on the table. The furniture (e.g. chairs) were very worn. No one asked if we were going to the theater (we were) and we later realized they provide a discount for Hartford Stage. So we missed out on that. Not very busy (a Thursday evening).
Great lunch spot. Parking is tough, but we just walked from the office. Bummed that they will be renovating for the next few months, but looking forward to seeing the rehab job. The only issue is that it's too dark inside. You can barely read the menus.
